Wow. That makes our USA public transport look like outdated garbage. Seriously. That looks futuristic.
And Amsterdam resudents already complain about this

Honestly though, the North-Southline has gone down into history as one of the deadliest construction projects ever. It killed one construction worker and one ordinary civillian who got crushed by a pillar falling out of a pillar driving machine onto his car.
It also basically bankrupted the city of Amsterdam due to the insane extra costs as compared to the estimated costs it took to build, and as a result some transportation companies that connect to Amsterdam were basically forced into stopping at the beginning station in Amsterdam-North.
Let's just say this project really took it's toll in some ways, and was nicknamed recently by a newspaper to be the "headache-metroline" (it rhymes in Dutch).

That's why your country spends 800 billion on military, and no budget for basic services like a modern public transportation system and healhcare.
Many people know about Amsterdam's trams. However, few realize that it also has an amazing metro system.

It's cleaner. NYC without question has the best subway network though.
Damn near every block in the city has a subway entrance, it's ridiculous here.
@@gg-gamers That's a plus actually so you don't need to worry you won't be able to reach your ride because you're too far away from the station
arguably the world's most advanced society, especially when measured by their minimization of cars.
i love the design of the train rolling stock, it has bigger door with tall form to make easy load and unloading passanger. unlike other metro in asia and american. very nice
tozai line in tokyo had their new subway car doors width 1,800 mm (71 in) as opposed to the previous 1,300 mm (51 in). they're really, really wide.
So modern and clean subway. Really amazing !
Wow that is really modern and I absolutely love that and public transport in my city Paris is also just as pretty good as the one that a'dam has in the video.
Only thing that bothered me during my visit in Paris is that they still use very very old trains

used the amsterdam metro myself on my visit back in january. puts london to shame with having phone signal and aircon! not to mention the insane price difference!!
Rotterdam has one that puts even amsterdam's metro system to shame
The only metro I’ve been on is the London tube (I’ve also been on Edinburgh trams once too) and this looks way cleaner and more efficient in terms of how quickly they arrive (except the Victoria line which you cannot beat) however it isn’t that extensive... there’s pretty much only 3 lines (I know it’s officially 4 but a few of them pretty much go the same way) and the stops are quite far apart

Sounds exactly like the Circle Line in Singapore. Not surprising considering they're both Alstom Metropolis trains.
The subway NoordZuidlijn is perfect to visit venues in the centre of Amsterdam,from my town in the north of Noord-Holland it is only one hour ahead 👌😉

Keurig. Ziet er gelikt uit. Iets meer gezelligheid zou niet weg zijn. Als ik in Londen met de metro ga (en dan praten we over een echt metro-systeem) dan ziet het er toch allemaal wat gezelliger uit. Een koffietentje of kiosk her en der. Qua openbaar vervoer zal het best aan de modernste eisen voldoen maar qua omgeving lijkt het wel een graftombe.
Dan verhuis je toch lekker naar Londen

Kiosks etc. staan voor de poortjes, maar ze mogen van mij wel even Weesperplein opbeuren, wat een rotzooi is dat station
@@sylvesterstavenhagen846 Ik zou dat graag doen. Verder vind ik het een nogal groot ondergronds gebeuren waar ik opvallend weinig reizigers zie. Misschien komt dat ook door het nogal magere aanbod van metrotreinen.

Why are they called 50, 51, 52, 53 and 54 instead of 1,2,3,4 and 5
These line numbers (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) are already used for trams.
@@edodv9949 Oh ok, I just thought it's odd because they usually say M50, M51, M52etc anyway so they could just use the prefix to identify, similar to berlin where they have the U2 tube train and the S2 suburban train

you can ride it all day as long as you check in and out, there is a gvb day card or you can buy a card you can top up for using it other day 👍🏻

Not in the metro, to buy a ticket you have to make use of the ticket machines at the stations and yes it accept bank card.

Ja, kosten uiteindelijk €3,1 miljard. €1,9 miljard opgehoest door de gemeente, en €1,1 miljard door de overheid.
En dan te bedenken dat de meerderheid vd amsterdammers (65%) tegen gestemd hebben in het referendum, maar de opkomst was te laag om de drempel van 155.000 tegenstemmers te halen.

Here in The Netherlands you will not be encountering groping creeps, they will be handled accordingly to the people nearby until the authorities is there..
We don't do that shit here, and we don't separate men and woman in different spaces inside the train because of it, it never happens.
@@Zoza15 Believe me when shit like that most definitely happens in The Netherlands just as well, maybe not in the excessive amounts that you might try to compare it to, but when it happens some people are just as shocked when witnessing it, and other people can be just as stubborn in helping someone when confronting the perpetrator.
