I just got one of these a few months ago and I absolutely love it. I wish more preamp pedals would take on the idea of just having 2-3 knobs and being dead simple to dial in a nice tone instead of constantly incorporating every knob and slider that will make your sound guy want to strangle you for even considering making use of them. The longer I play, the more I desire simple well made tools like this. Props to Sadowsky

Good thinking here in regards of using this preamp instead of mucking with a passive bass’s electronics. And Lars, this is a real hot set up too - bass / amp/ preamp combination!

Neat...nice & simple with a quality pre-amp & DI box in one....great for getting lower impedence with passive bass's,straight into a desk, amp etc before a bunch of foot pedals, & a great sounding variable live/recording tone....does a lot well for one box.....

Can anyone tell me if you can use the XLR and 1/4 outputs at the same time? The manual doesn't say and mine won't. Just checking to make sure there is no problem with it.

Hi Stephen! Yes, the outputs on the SBP-1 V2 should work simultaneously, which opens up options for splitting the signal. To troubleshoot, please check again, that you have turned up the volume on your pedal and bass, that all your connected cables, plugs and devices in your chain (amp/cab/interface etc.) work properly and that the pedal is not set to mute. If you still experience issues, you can make use of your granted warranty, if not expired. We hope this was helpful.

@SadowskyInstrumentsOfficial All good. I did the usual diagnostics. Turns out if your XLR input has a Pad Switch, it should be set correctly. Who woulda thunk it. 😀

Does this work on Active Basses too, or just Passive Basses? 🤔

yes, it will work with active basses. Most Active basses have a switch for you to go Passive or Active. Just switch it to Passive

If your preamp sucks like a lot of “hum” would this outboard preamp remedy this.?.

in theory yes, I just bought one but haven't really tried it out coz my bass is quite silent already. But the "Ground-Lift" switch on the pedal is for this purpose. If you hear humming, just switch it to the "Lift" position and it will eliminate the humming.
