    These look so much quicker and easier than making dozens of cookies! AND they would compliment my mother’s candied pecans in a pretty Christmas tin! ❤❤❤

    I made them... delicious! Thank you. I think I will try adding the pecans to the carmel the next time. Oh and the carmel sauce was the bomb! I drink my coffee black but I decided to add a little of the carmel sauce I made and it is wonderful! I know it will be fabulous on ice cream... or just about anything else, lol. Thanks, again. I appreciate you taking the time to share your talent!

    Is the glass bowl in the Foodi an accessory for it or just any glass bowl will work. This looks so very yummy.

      Any glass (or metal) mixing bowl that can rest on top is fine. The one I use is from Pampered Chef and it is the largest in the set. Here is the link: www.pamperedchef.com/pws/thesaltedpepper/shop/Outlet/Outlet/Glass+Mixing+Bowl+Set/1752?queryID=364fa28bf0c204363c524828feb07fdf

    I made these over the weekend. I couldn’t get the caramel hard enough to dip into the chocolate without collapsing, so I rolled it into balls and dipped them into the chocolate. Now I have a problem, these are SO GOOD, they’re addicting and I can’t stop eating them. Sorry family, if I’m making these delicious little goodies, I get to eat them. 😋 😋 😋

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  8 дней назад

      Did you refrigerate them to harden a bit? It sounds like you may have used just a touch too much cream, but I am loving the idea of caramel pecan balls coated in chocolate!

    • @Als_Sweetie
      @Als_Sweetie 8 дней назад

      @ I did refrigerate them, kept checking every 10-15 minutes, they were still very pliable, so I just rolled them into balls. It all worked out. 😋 I added some cream to the leftover caramel in the pan at the end to make the caramel sauce like you demonstrated in the video, and now we have a delicious sauce for ice cream, might add some rum to the sauce. 🤗

    Fannie May candies made dark chocolate turtles and it got to hard to find. I only buy dark chocolate and now I can save 32.00 and make my own. Yum

    Can margarine be used or does it have to be butter

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  6 дней назад

      It really should be butter because margarine will impart a different flavor and could become too oily in the caramel.

  • @sherryjeffer62

    Can you make them in cupcake liners?

    • @TheSaltedPepper

      I actually tried that and they turned out really thick. Good, but huge and thick.

  • @JelMain
    @JelMain 16 дней назад +1

    No on the chocolate temperatures. If you want crisp clusters use the temperatures in tempering chocolate, melting the large blocks and using the callets for the temperature drop.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  16 дней назад +10

      For what I'm doing, this works fine for the chocolate. Tempering chocolate isn't everyone's thing, so this is a way to get a glossy finish (and the chocolate is firm) easily and without needing to use a thermometer or worry about temperatures.

    Quick question: Are there similar settings on the instant pot as to the Ninja Foodi, so I could use the instant pot for these recipes? Or is it worth it to just go ahead and invest in the Foodi?

    • @blondiegt72024
      @blondiegt72024 16 дней назад +1

      I was wondering the same thing.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  16 дней назад +2

      For this recipe, the instant pot has low slow cook and works great for melting the chocolate like I did with the Foodi. I am pretty sure it also switches to keep warm mode.
      The Instant Pot also has the pressure cooking function and some other settings that are similar to the Foodi and if you have the Duo Crisp or Pro Crisp version of the IP, then you also have the air frying function.

    Can you use the Caramel from the Produce section?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  16 дней назад +1

      If it stays the correct consistency, you can. You can also melt down those caramel candies with some cream, but it might take longer to unwrap each one than it does to make the caramel. LOL

  • @readytogo3186

    Could I just put the pecans in the pan of caramel sauce, stir it up, then drop by spoons full onto the parchment paper?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  16 дней назад +1

      You can certainly try it that way, but once you add the nuts to the caramel, it will cool down fast, and you might end up fighting with it to get it onto the parchment. I don't think it will save you any time, but let me know if you give it a try!
