Good review thankyou. The earlier models will do well In the retro/historical Airsoft communities. Good to know that there is extensive part and upgrade support available as well with it being an A&K. Thanks.
Anvil Airsoft TV thanks mate, I think this will be fun addition. I’ve already got a little shopping list for it (one of those being a huge bag of BB’s) lol
Mark Greenway it all depends on the hop and barrel. Everything I have a TnT set up has to use .32’s or more as it will over hop big time. Super accurate though, my 416 is insane. If I put maple leaf in, .28 or .30’s. For standard set up .25 as the hop won’t have enough grip fro the heavier BB’s.
Very good video bud! Am debating picking one of these up as a side gun I use from time to time. Hopefully it will last for a bit before AOE does something bad. Also, you should sell your new logo on a patch! Would totally buy to help support you!
James Baker sorry mate, I get demonetised whenever I show how to strip down the gun. I’m thinking of doing specific takedown videos on the different replicas though. I’m also going to have guides on Patreon too, as you don’t get penalised for your content there.
Nice review Pete... I personally run a A&K Mk46 which I bought off my mate. Full metal and weighs a ton, but my god it's fun to use. (When the box mag decides to work that is) Run mine with a Bullgear hop unit, prommy purple & flathop and greatly improves upon the stock one. I also run mine with a Titan 11.1 Li-ion, the rate of fire is insane and just perfect for playing the role of support gunner. People really do shy away from engaging you due to the amount of plastic your slinging their way. :) I'd also like to get myself a Bullgear box mag, as the stock ones are made of cheese and constantly break. (I have x2 Large ones, one if which is broken and the other kinda broken, but still useable.. I also have x2 small box mags, again one is broken and the other broke about 2hrs into a game @ NPF..but once I got home I used the broken one to fix the other..but no doubt it will break again) Bullgear say they were going to release a version of the box mag with internal power, as the one they currently sell, means you have to wire it into the wiring of the gun...but as of yet nothing from them. So still sat on the fence on what to do. But machine guns are still a lot of fun, when they work of course..... :)
I’m pretty sure the bullgear box mag you were talking about is out. Also, check out the MAG brand nut sacks, pretty good and are a drop in for real nut sack covers
@bigbirdsairsoft iv recently got a SA E03 , it sounds really bad/loud , i put a shs silent piston head, cylinder head and done the shiming ... The thing is still really loud and im not getting a good air seal off the shs stuff ... I see your SA guns sound lovely, whats your secret.. I upgraded my g&g arp at the same time and it sounds lovely, i used the bits i took out the Orion gear box in it , so confused haha
Excellent review, but what errors can happen with the hopup on it? When j was testing mine the other day I took the barrel off my accident, I put it back as it should but it hasn't been the same since, it fires about 5 rounds then the BB's just get stuck on something, I just don't know what's up with it.
It’s interesting that current a&k 249’s have aoe problems. My 6ish year old one had near perfect, 60k rounds and the stock piston had basically no wear. Shows how shit airsoft manufacturing is between batches. Though it does have misscasted spur or sector bushing holes so shimming can’t be as “tight” or it jams the sector/spur in certain areas
I have the Mk1 version, last time out I skirmished it for two hours. That was over a month ago. I've had back problems since then and haven't been able to go airsofting since. Mind you, I'm 65; need to get to the gym more I think. Can't wait until I can get out there again. Looking forward to using it with tracer unit on dark winter afternoons, scare the crap out of the opposition ha ha.
So, I can get the A&K metal version used from an old teammate for the same price as this costs new. What would be the better purchase? Metal is nice and all that, but maybe you actually can run this version all day without killing your arms?
can anyone tell me if they have a certain battery that they would use with this, because im having a hard time finding out what size of battery it can hold
I've just bought one of these (the version with full RIS and the M4 buffer tube) and holy crap the top rail alignment is extremely bad. Externally the RIF looks great, but the top rail alignment is woeful, no idea how that passed QC.
Really wish they forced a&k to change the hop up nub to a horizontal position instead of the trash vertically position. Because otherwise you have to immediately go out and get the $80ish bullgear unit.
Can you do a review on the Specna Arms SA-C06 CORE? I need more information about it and how it is out of the box and for the price if it's ok that it is not metal, it is durable enough? And does it needs any upgrades?
Lol yeah, I hear people moaning about head shots etc. they should try playing with a prolapsed disk 😂 getting hit in the head is a distraction from the pain!

Hi mate, I’ll see if I can get a video out on the AOE 👍 if you guys like the logo I can make some patches up, I was going to get some for my kit. It would sure help the channel content. 😊 thanks for the support.
Anthony it’s not too bad by the look of it, it has a micro switch trigger which I’m not keen on for a V3 gearbox but you can work with it and it’s improved with something like a Warfet. If the 6,01 barrel is the normal Arcturus steel barrel, I’d change that out as they rust and are impossible to get clean. Other than that, it’s an AK platform basically. You can do a lot to an AK to make it great.
Actualllllly PGC, now Pro-Win, made the first gearbox of that type, but I'll give you CA making the first 249 with that design in. Also more importantly CA got it to work propperly.
@@klocsiz129 well it broke after a few shots . Has has cylinder cylinder head and piston changed has also had aoe corrected and been short stroked will let you know the outcome when it gets back from the shop
Another honest, upfront review - thank you! Good to know it’s an A&K underneath - seems like very good value for money. There is a retro arms hop unit available that also comes with a new feed tube housing made from machined aluminium - I’d be tempted by replacing the hop unit with this as on my old A&K, the cast mazac housing that the hop unit locks into eventually wore to the point where the hop unit could rotate on the same axis as the barrel which caused all manner of feeding issues.
The retro arms is “trash” bullgear is the best, though airsoftpro have redone their hop up to be like the bullgear, which might make it take the top spot because it’s like $50 cheaper than the bullgear
Nothing wrong with the reasoning about why to buy a plastic m249. How does it work in the UK with LMGs? Cause in sweden some games have started to enforce a weight limit (milsim games) on LMGs. I can kind of understand the milsim argument but at the same time in the end of the day airsoft is still just a game. What are your thoughts? Great video!
Ragshnak thanks mate, and great comment. Yeah I get why they have a weight limit and although I’ve not seen that in the UK, we do have a similar rule with DMR’s where it has to look like a DMR (no ARP9 DMR’s LOL). Having said that, although lighter, it’s still cumbersome, and not as mobile as an AR platform in any way, so I think it’s still no speedsoft replacement for a full weight M249. I do like the approach milsim has to Airsoft, keeping it a simulation rather than a paintball arena type thing. That seems to be happening in the US a lot with speedsoft etc. I do think the light weight M249 could really help people with past injuries and as long as it looks like an M249 it should be allowed imo. Like you say, it is still a game. I used to play army as a kid before Airsoft was a thing, now I do it as an adult and call it Airsoft 🤣🤣 👍

Which one do you think is better, the para or the mk2? I like that the mk2's battery storage is in the stock balancing the weapon a bit more and that it does have a bit more space, I also like that it is a bit more accurate due to the longer barrel and is a bit lighter due to the plastic stock but the length itself is quite impractical, however the para version is shorter, it does have a rail, it does have a collapsible stock but is not as accurate as mk2, does have a smaller battery compartment and it is heavier due to the metal para stock, I want to buy the mk2 or the para version, what is your opinion? Honestly just get the one you like the look of. Weight is negligible, accuracy would be no different and both will fit as big a battery as you’ll need. The only advantage the Para has is if you are wearing a bulky plate carrier the stock is a little shorter so is less likely to get caught up.
