I want to lay on this flow and ebb away, I want to cry and laugh at the same time. Like sailing through everything all at once, through a cold oblivion to a warm dawn. This song hits so hard when you need a shoulder.
Markus is the modern-day Mozart to this style of rock. Absolutely nothing can touch him. His music is such an incredible gift to our lives.. what a blessing!
Wow. Loving the more math-y influence and bringing in those LUSH lowcityrain vocals. Brilliant journey from album to album with Lantlos. To the point now where the landscape here is unrecognisable to these nights were ours... but the essence is still there.
I remember watching an interview of Herbst stylistically explaining his decisions behind Melting Sun on a few years back. He was saying that he was taking influence from some new musical interests outside of the realm of black metal in an attempt to create a more transformative album. Though I can respect both him and Niege despite their fallout, to an extent I respect his efforts a bit more for continuing down a path that's a bit more unconventional for black metal. Both of them released their own shoegaze-esque album that were both acclaimed, but I got to hand it to Markus for incorporating other elements from different genres and side projects. You can definitely hear the nods to lowcityrain, prog, and even djent sounds in this single, and it compliments the song well. It might sound controversial, but that's the path I hope Black metal takes, one that evolves the sound. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album, Congrats Lantlos.
I wouldn't say Neige and Markus had a "fallout". Neige simply become too busy as Alcest got more popularity, and Markus decided to move along on his own. Also if Melting Sun didn't make it obvious enough, this song should make it abundantly clear Lantlôs are no long a black metal band. This isn't an evolution for that style, it's something completely different. That's not to say to can't like both, but this is in no way black metal anymore. Lantlôs have been a changed band.

The drums on this are some of the most unusual and off beat I’ve ever heard. It almost sounds like it was made up on the fly, but it totally works. It is so impressive.
Wildhund is not only my album of the year, but it is my favourite album I’ve heard in 25 years loving music. This masterpiece of humanity saved me from a very dark period this year; it saved me from complete apathy during the hardest time of my life. Favourite song is Amber - that heavy groove in the middle is unlike anything I’ve heard before.

O nome "Melting Sun" não foi escolhido em vão, de certa forma faz alusão à sua metamorfose, não apenas como músico mas também como pessoa. A proximidade do campo e da natureza (consequentemente o "distanciamento" da vida urbana) o fizeram enxergar todas as cores ao seu redor... Pulse/Surreal pra mim sempre será a perfeita fusão entre o tangível e o intangível, a realidade que escorre pelos meus dedos e se envolve em tudo mais que eu desejar. Admito sentir falta de toda aquela agressividade emocional dos 3 primeiros full, mas entendo e respeito que a nova fase da banda reflita única e exclusivamente à essência de seu compositor. No mais, gostei muito do som, é realmente algo único. Ansioso pelas próximas faixas, espero que seja lançado aqui no Brasil. Cheers, mr Siegenrort!

Sempre que ouço, estando alegre ou deprimido, sinto um nó na garganta inexplicável, são sensações incríveis. Faz bem saber que existem mais pessoas aqui no país que não apenas conhecem mas também compreendem todo sentimento que o trabalho desses caras representa :)

When I thought "Yhea, Melting Sun is probably the best record out there, Melting Sun III is the best song out there" I was naive, and in a world where this did not exist, now that I've heard this song I truly believe Mark is the best musician out there, conveying raw feelings in lyric and sounds I wish I could've bought the Deluxe edition but it went out of stock

I love Neige for Alcest, but i Think Lantlõs are way more experimental, and I love this project for that.
