@cflynndrummer That's so nice of you to say. The marching snare head definitely gives you more rebound, but it's nowhere near as tight as you think it would be. I love it though, but it takes some getting used to from regular heads.

@crazydrumma the aux snare is a 6x12 dw collectors series snare with a coated emperor and muffling on it.

You're awesome, I've watched a bunch of drum covers today and yours is perfect, not over done, on beat, and awesome photography.
@bluebless6 My main snare is still where it should be, but I have my auxilary snare of to the side for different, less intense, or a different feeling part of a song. My main snare is higher pitched and cracking, while the aux snare sounds like a sampled, deeper snare. The Ozone has holes to make it more trashy and explosive. Which Zildjian cymbal? There's a 20" K Custom ride and a 14" Zildjian ZXT on the top of the stack.

Well done. Most drum covers try to drive the song/overtake the song. Drums as with all instrumentation are meant to compliment the song. You nailed it sir. Well done.

i like that hip hop soft snare you got there. tape n foam are the evident muffling agents haha i do the same thing. nice kit as well. good energy in the cover and very clean. LIKE.

I have a long term addiction to RUclips drum covers and I never comment. However, I think this cover is the best drum cover I have seen yet. Phenominal job! Perfect timing, creative, and very entertaining. You're a good drumer as well as a performer. The kit sounds fantastic. I need to figure out a way to get this Mueller version of the song on my iPod because Perry version just doesn't cut it for me after seeing this. I've had this vid on my Favorites Bar in IE for weeks. Awesome!

The tape on the aux snare gives me the sound I want--a very processed, programmed snare sound. The cymbal with holes is a Sabian HHX Evolution Ozone Crash.

Amazing! Everything is so clean and solid, and you always know exactly what you're doing. You can really see the years of experience and knowledge you have under your belt. I keep on playing it over and over again. And it's 4 in the morning D:

How do you record your cymbals? They're so clean and pristine sounding, but you can SEE where they're hitting each other and sloshing around...plus the silent china stack is freaking me out.
I LOVE your parts though man - you're the kind of guy that gets the gig.

so sick of people doing shitty drum remix's of pop songs, finally found a drummer who knows how to do it! Created a part that works well with the song instead of crash riding at strange parts and doing elongated fills that don't work. Solid, solid performance. Solid. 5 stars.
