Definitely can't forget that one, seeing that it was the first NBA team licensed game. And because it was a huge graphics upgrade from Double Dribble ( even though DD was the better game to play )
Also there was this streetball game on DOS of which I can't remember the name. Oh, also this--In Flight: www.abandonwaredos.com/abandonware-game.php?abandonware=Micheal+Jordan+in+Flight&gid=1675
Before Jordan vs Bird, there was One-on-One which featured Dr J vs Bird back in 1983. It featured slam dunks, a referee, three point shots, shattering the backboard, and even instant replays. It was WAY ahead of its time.
+Retro Bear The official name of the game was called One-on-One. It was by EA (then known by their formal name, Electronic Arts). I had it for the Commodore 64.
nice, I remember playing double dribble thinking wow the graphics are awesome. do evolution of nhl and NFL please! thanks for bringing back some memories.
The lack of NBA 2K for the Dreamcast is disturbing, especially considering this is supposed to be an evolution of Basketball video games. Don't think you realize how big of a leap those games were.
+LittleBugGaming Naw NBA live 16 looks like the greatest and most realistic basketball game ever, but it isn't 2k 16 does look amazing but just not as good, but 2k 16 play amazing it's the most fun basketball game I've played.
bad ass video dude..super props...you have captured all the aspects of b-ball gaming. i remember playing nba jam in the arcade for the first time..it was the most incredible thing i had ever seen at 13.
Arcade versions of games usually look better than their console counterparts. I think the Dreamcast was the first system to really match, and occasionally surpass, the Arcade in graphical quality.
I remembering it all as kids wow it’s amazing to see what we want through just to play a video game 🎮 wow . The new generation will never know the struggle thanks for showing it 🙌🏾🎥👏🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥
I thoroughly enjoyed that.... I would like to add EA Lakers vs Celtics video game series, Coach K series (UNLV Runnin Rebs all day, breaking back boards), Run n Gun 2 and NBA Hangtime. Great Vid!!

NBA Live '95 was the basketball game for the ages. I remember staying up till like 3 in the morning playing that game. watching this also makes me feel so old. I was a freshmen in high school when Live '95 came out. GREAT TIMES!!!!
Last but not least, GREATEST SOUNDTRACK EVER!! Dope underground beats to always ball to. They don't make em like they used to. 2k5 is legendary and ahead of its time...
I expected these games would be covered: - Lakers vs Celtics and the NBA Playoffs (EA, PC/Genesis 1989) - Run and gun (Konami, arcade 1993) - Street Whoop (Data East, Neo Geo 1994) - Super Slams (Banpresto, arcade 1995)
This was published 2009! 9 years later, and even better graphics and gameplay! Amazing!

THANK YOU! I came here trying to find this one, as I couldn't remember its name! It was really a milestone!
Before Jordan vs Bird, there was One-on-One which featured Dr J vs Bird back in 1983. It featured slam dunks, a referee, three point shots, shattering the backboard, and even instant replays. It was WAY ahead of its time.
Yeah can't find dr. J vs Bird anywhere. I'm currently doing some gameplay vids on all of the ones that I can find
+Retro Bear The official name of the game was called One-on-One. It was by EA (then known by their formal name, Electronic Arts). I had it for the Commodore 64.

And the free throws for Sega Sports/ESPN NBA 2K was the hardest.
2K Sports NBA 2K will be only the best basketball game series.
Great video man! So many memories!

Dope as Instrumental :)
Music like this transcends emotion. If you are unhappy, you will feel accordingly.
I thoroughly enjoyed that.... I would like to add EA Lakers vs Celtics video game series, Coach K series (UNLV Runnin Rebs all day, breaking back boards), Run n Gun 2 and NBA Hangtime.
