Hi Emma! I just wanted to tell you, you've helped bring me and my older sister together. We've always been very different, but had the one thing in common: The love of horror. Suddenly we found out that we both watch your videos. Now it's tradition to get together to watch them. I Just wanted to say thank you. I really missed her.
not sure if you guys gives a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf for the last couple of days xD
I unabashedly adore Book of Shadows, it's got some really smart ideas/concepts. There's an excellent fan edit that reorders the film (all the police interview flashes are now part of a linear ending). It also removes a bunch of stuff Berlinger was forced to put in (like the gore and Manson playing over the opening credits). It also cemented in my head that Josh was possessed by the Blair Witch in the first film, and is responsible for killing Heather and Mike a la Rustin Parr.
I absolutely LOVE Stay Alive. Not because it’s scary in the slightest but every time I watch it I get such a nostalgic feeling. It’s so bad and the story is so comical but it’s one of those movies to me that is so bad it’s good haha
It makes me SO HAPPY to see you give such love to Search Party! I couldn't get enough of it, but I did love that we got 4 season. I recommend it to everyone!
😂 "I'm not a fan of Millie Brown" The new Godzilla films would be great if only 90min, less humans, more monsters. I have to skip around when I rewatch them. Great monster scenes, but all the human stuff mostly boring & silly. Best human character in GvK is the little girl, she was awesome imo. Love your channel! Thanks for all the recommendations.
@@mikesilva3868 It’s bad, but the studio interference, edits and rewrites basically butchered the original script and idea, so if she dives into that it’s actually pretty interesting.
I can't wait to see The Father! Apparently cinemas are on track to open in Scotland in a few weeks time, and The Father is meant to be released in June, so fingers crossed it won't be long before I can see it! I would love a video on Jennifer's Body
Oh man... "The Father" is really one of those amazing films that's a one time watch only, especially with that ending. Just so heartbreaking! Would LOVE a video on "Jennifer's Body", I haven't seen it in like 10 years myself, and I'm really curious why it's having such a resurgence at the moment. TOTALLY with you on the final scene of "Suspiria", it felt like they just wanted to go crazy with no actual reason for it other than shock factor. "Keane" sounds like something I need to watch. Thanks for another awesome wrap-up!
Just marathon watched Them in two days and I liked it. It stays with you. It reminded me of The Shining, and other Stephen King horrors. The demons of their past become literal demons in the present. That whole collective trauma theme was so moving and thought provoking. They really packed a lot in there. Maybe almost too much at times (?), but I never lost interest. I did have to remind myself a couple of times that it was playing with allegory and metaphor to stop from rolling my eyes at a couple of scenes, but overall it was really good. The tap-dance man character reminded me of pennywise from the IT books. It just really hit the nail on the head for portraying collective and intergenerational trauma in an interesting, captivating way. It was also a bit like His House, as it has that gradual reveal of where these hauntings originate. It just had that “feel” of dread and suffocation to it. Anyway, I’m not a writer or reviewer, but I liked this one. 👍 Oh, and I hated Honeydew. I tried to like it. I think the soundtrack was what pushed it over the edge. The story didn’t seem original to me. Meh, I can’t stand Lena Dunham. Sorry if anyone’s an LD fan, but she irritates me and if I’d known she was in it, I probably wouldn’t have watched it.
THEM was one of the most intense and stressful things I’ve ever watched. It was so heartbreaking and horrific and really depicted the worst aspects of humanity. I feel like people would be inclined to stop watching due to its intensity/difficult themes. Don’t turn it off.
I have two more episodes of THEM left but I had to take a break since watching the baby scene. I just couldn’t handle it 😢 it was way too intense and I’ve seen some crazy stuff.
🖤 Another vote for Jennifer’s Body and Blair witch videos! - I loved Sleeping Beauty (beautiful to look at and so quietly disturbing - got the chills remembering it)
I couldn’t do Them. I tried but it almost killed me. Thanks for all the recommendations. Always impressed with your work ethic and I love your enthusiasm!
The best documentary I’ve watched was, My Octopus Teacher...it was so absolutely beautiful. I’d love to see what you think about it, and I keep asking you to review, Elizabeth Harvest...I would so love to see what you think of it, it’s one of my favorite movies. It’s sci fi horror. Search party is one of my favorites, and I so agree with you on, Them!!! Amazing

Emma, if you haven't seen "Anything for Jackson" i highly recommend you that movie. I bet you gonna love it. Btw, i started watching you few months ago and now its one of my favorite channels on youtube, you are doing a really great job!
I think rating movies better, because of nostalgia, is totally fine. For me, it's more important how a movie makes me feel, rather than if it is technically perfect.
Even though it’s not a film, you should check out invincible on Amazon prime! I were expecting cheese because I knew nothing about it and it blew my head off with how brutal and visceral it is! Just wow! Such a good series 👍🏻

I'd love a Blair Witch book of Shadows video, I know it's not the BEST Blair witch movie but I really liked the idea they were going for and I thought the movie was pretty neat too
There are a lot of recent videos about Jennifer's Body, so I'd rather see one on Blair Witch 2 and why you like it. I haven't seen it because of its reputation of being awful, so I'd like the perspective of a fan of that film.
LOL. I loved Honeydew but I got a laugh when I saw my Letterboxd score was the highest out of your friends "watched" category. Damn, the scores really are high and low with that one.
I saw "Keane" about 15 years ago based on Roger Ebert's review. And yes, it was terrific. I'm glad you discovered it. On another note, last night I watched a movie from 2009 called "The Loved One." If you haven't seen this one, Emma, I think you'll like it. A high school prom revenge horror movie. A lot of fun!
So happy your video was here just in time for me to enjoy while eating lunch! Would love to see you talk about Blair Witch 2 Book of Shadows. I've actually watched it multiple times and I know most people hate it, but I liked it
Sleeping Beauty was so good. Could you do a video to analyse it a bit? I was left with so many questions after watching it and even after the 3rd watch I was like..WOW, what just happened?!
While initially I was really intrigued by Them, as I was watching I went on Tiktok and saw that a lot of African Americans were commenting on the plot line being very typical and saddening. By this they explained how it was practically torcher porn for racists and it really unsettled me because I saw where they were coming from. After that I couldn’t continue watching it.
Book of Shadows review, please! I’ve already seen so much on Jennifer’s Body. But hardly anyone likes Book of Shadows, so I’d love to hear your thoughts!!
Completely agree about Behind Her Eyes! I read the book a few years ago and had the same reaction to the twist! I felt really frustrated because I felt that wasn't the kind of story or genre the book sold me as! So, while shocking. the twist felt pretty cheap in the end!
