I respect your FIGHT AGAINST SPOILERS! The more I watch your channel the less I watch trailers and the less I want to know before I go into a movie! Just give me like a two sentence plot point and I’ll decide right there hahaha great video Emma!
Thanks! I totally agree
#8?0☆
As someone who considers mentioning a twist a spoiler, I very much appreciate you being sensitive to spoilers.
Till Death was a pleasant surprise for me, Megan Fox once again proving how capable of an actress she is and thrives in horror/thrillers. The cat and mouse chase film didn't bore me the way others do, keeping me always interested and actually caring for her character. I also appreciated how they showed her as a flawed character while also dealing with the obvious ways she could "escape" or get help. I found it an incredibly fun watch and cannot wait for the physical release!
Your channel is a gem, here in South America and in general the Latin American community one cannot find the type of work that you do on your channel. Congratulations and greetings from Bolivia
Thank you so much!
I appreciate that you don't spoil the movies. I really do watch shows based on your recommendations.
seeing my letterboxd profile pic on this video made me scream you'd think i won the lottery or smth lmao
I am happy that you liked “A Classic Horror Story.”
I really liked it also. 🙌🤘💚
🤘🏼
What even is "fearmongering about spoilers"...? I really appreciate you being careful about spoiling movies: I personally hate it when synopsises or trailers give too much away. Please don't change that!
Literally one of the main reasons I love your channel is not only have you never let me down on a recommendation but you are so careful NOT to spoil anything! And I appreciate that sooooo much!
Thank you 🙏🏼
FWIW: I appreciate your battle against spoilers. I can watch a trailer and tell when in a movie a scene is usually. So please keep being concerned.
I most definitely appreciate how you don’t have any spoilers but I still get a really good review.
Glad to see you. Stay strong, focus on the positives in life (and I know you do).
Keep doing what you do, we love you!
I missed this video when you posted it and I am so happy to discover it now. Extra spooky content for me. I am a silent follower but I have to say it: I love your content so much, Emma! I discovered so many great movies thanks to you. Thank you for your work! Spoiler-free reviews, hidden gems, I love them all!
Now I have more to watch! I'm surprised you didn't like Horror in the High Desert. The end scared the heck out of me and my girlfriend. Now I have to see Till Death.
I agree! The last 20 minutes of Horror In The High Desert was batshit scary! But it does require a lot of patience. It it also true that it's too much wait for a little payoff but the payoff was legit.
The next DTOY, I’m so excited!! I’ve missed the last few cuz I hadnt seen the movies but definitely looking forward to the warrens episode 😬
I’m glad you recommended A Classic Horror Story. I watched about 15 minutes and just wasn’t sure. After your video, I went back and watched it. I’m so glad. Definitely did not go as I was expecting! Thanks again!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Profile though! I waited ages on this coming out and it did NOT disappoint! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
I skipped out on watching it at the time, but am thinking of actually checking it out now
I love horror movies!! I cant believe you tube just recomended me your chanel weeks ago =/ its amazing to share this with other people and talk about the movies!! GRACIAS EMMA!!!!! HUGS FROM ECUADOR!! binchwatiching your channel!!!! I wanted to like Awake too! I was sad because I love Gina Rodriguez, I lOVE THE DESENT SOO MUCH!!!!! REPET IT ANY TIME
There is another series that covers the murder in West Cork called " Murder at the çottage ". IMO, it's a much more detailed, balanced and compelling watch than the one one you mentioned.
Yes! I've seen this one first on Now TV and a couple days later the Netflix one dropped... I haven't watched it because I feel like it's going to be basically the same... Is it worth it for me to watch both?
It doesn't really offer anything new, but I found it interesting to compare the content of both documentaries. I think the Netflix one pushes the narrative towards Ian Bailey being guilty, While the Sky Crime one gives a more balanced view. It would of been cool to watch them the other way round.
@@michaelstokes919 thank you for your answer! I might give it a try then
I always try to be moderate while adding movies to my watchlist, but your recommendations are soooo good that I just end up with a million more to watch. Thanks for the content!!! Your channel is my favorite 😎
Thank you so much
Talking of true crime on Netflix, 'The Serpent' is a gripping dramatization of a case I knew very little about. It's a series that I ended up binging. There are so many tense scenes and the ending is so unexpected. x
I just joined SurfShark with your code... Thank you so much, Emma! This looks great (& I should have done it sooner)!
I'm also intrigued by your recommendations: Nine Days & Profile look really interesting!
Emma thank you for telling us about your letterboxd movies and TV shows to watch
I'm excited to hear that you liked Profile, I almost caught that in the theaters but missed it. Will definitely check it out (among others you've recommended!) The Versace miniseries gets better as it goes on. Darren Criss won EVERY award imaginable for that role, so it's quite a performance. Wait until you get to FEUD! It's a SUBLIME miniseries!
..... You're not fear mongering
... That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. You are a gem and I'm one who appreciates you keeping every detail from getting spoiled
I loved with all my heart acs versace 😻 and i wanna watch a few of the movies you watched this month!
I'm having a total blip when it comes to TV, I'm not watching anything! It's really frustrating, I just can't seem to settle on any one thing at the moment. I can't wait to check out A Classic Horror Story!
Really liked the atmosphere, spookiness, and special effects of "A Night of Horror: Nightmare Radio", and "The Night of the Hunter"; great old movie that I finally got around to watching for the first time 😀
Ooo thanks for the recommendation
I love how subjective art is sometimes. The reasons you mentioned for not liking Captive State much (it being a more politics focused scifi) is what made me put it on my list now, bc that's exactly the kind of scifi I like most.
I was really surprised by A Classic Horror Story. I enjoyed it!
Thank you for all the amazing recommendations. Would recommend Love and Monsters, Oxygen , Burning, Sweat and Ghost World if you haven't seen them yet
Have you watched "Katla" on Netflix? It's an Icelandic mystery series. Personally I'm not really digging it so far (watched 4 episodes so far) but I know a lot of people absolutely LOVE it, so I would be curious how you like it :).
I can’t wait to watch this tmro night! 😍
There was a show that Rooster Teeth put out several years ago with the same premise as ‘Awake’ but I thought they did a much better job called ‘Day 5’. I wasn’t sure if you’d checked it out before. :)
I just saw HORROR IN THE HIGH DESERT and while I did enjoy the "full mystery" vibe of the story, I agree that it felt much like Lake Mungo. So, I gave it a score of 6/10.
There is a sequel in the works which is supposed to come out this year. I'm hoping it will focus on the "search group" that claimed to have found the mystery location (mentioned at the end of the film). Its title is Horror In The High Desert 2: Minerva.
when i watch these videos i always have a pen a paper to take notes of what to watch! feels like school 😂😭 in the best way!
A Murder in West Cork was haunting and well done. And really frustrating (the end)! What a tragedy.
I love these recap videos, there's always so many movies I've never heard of that I add to my watchlist. Also I'm finally going to see What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? in August (for the first time ever) AND it's going to be on a big screen, I couldn't be more excited
I'm really looking forward to "Nine Days." I remember Winston Duke from the TV series, "Person Of Interest." Speaking of television, have you seen a show called "Evil"? It was originally on CBS-TV, but now it's on the Paramount+ Network. The first season had some creepy moments and is worth checking out. Season two is not quite as compelling; they seem to have run out of ideas. Anyway, thanks for another great list, Emma! I'm with you on the no-spoiler policy. I rarely watch trailers myself.
17:53 Nine Days entered my top 20 favorite films of all time after just one viewing. It really hit me on a personal level.
Thanks for a lot of new additions to the watch list Emma - stay safe and stay spooky
A classic horror story! Just watched this on your recommendation. Thankyou! It was good fun. Thoroughly horrible in places. Surprised it only got a 15 here in the UK. Post modern elements weren't to my taste but in general it delivered! Happy.
Good to see you back Emma 😋 hope you’re keeping safe
Definitely hoping to watch Nine Days soon. Thanks Emma!
You’ll love it!
What Ever Happened To Baby Jane is one of my favorite old movies. Bette Davis was completely batshit in the best way.
Haha yes!
Cage in Pig! My fatorite performance of him this far💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
I was keen to see Nine Days at Stockholm Film Festival last year but wasn’t comfortable beeing out and about during covid so I missed seeing it on the big screen. Hope to catch it at home eventualy.
Hope you do!
Thank you for some new titles to add to my list :) Awake...wow, it almost felt like a spoof! I enjoyed Kandisha this week, on Shudder.
i saw nine days too. yeah wow, what an experience, emotionally heratbreaking
So good!
i am 25 old , i remember watching the descent when i was 9 , the chest scene made me shiver like crazy , rly a unique movie , it rly made me scared of caves .
I was wondering if you'd watched A Classic Horror Story. I've had it on my list since it came out, but didn't know if I should watch it. I'll def be watching it now!
Sooo good!!
I've been binge watching the Aussie tv show Offspring and loving it. I also watched Blood Red Sky and really loved it since it felt like a fresh take on vampires. I've been wondering if Sophie was any good so thanks for the recommendation as I have been looking for a good true crime show to watch.
Thanks Emma some great recommendations! Look forward to the coming to vod releases in Aug.
Awesome thank you. The Descent! Masterpiece.
Your channel is great, been watching for a while. I just want to let you know that you look just like Lola from LM Reactions here on RUclips, another great media channel!
I’ve been watching your channel for a long time and I never knew you were in your 30s!? you look like you’re 19-20!
Anyways, another great video definitely checking out a lot of these movies!
You're 100% right on the money when you said Luca felt like it was about... something else. 👀
Pig is a classic Cage movie, I liked it. And if you like him, you’ll enjoy it. I liked many of these films, Till Death was a pretty good one. I’ve watched the Descent so many times, one of my all time favorite movies. Love your channel!
Awake is actually a really cool concept for a movie
Hi Emma! Love your videos! I saw Hunter Hunter last night and I can't stop thinking about it. I would love to se a video with your thoughts on it. There's a lot to say about it. :)
BIG FAN of Your Channel n You always have Great recommendations!
Did you see the Lamb trailer?! I think it’s going to be PHENOMENAL. I got those vibes from it.
Yep!
I ❤❤❤ these videos Emma!! Keep them coming. Helps me know what to look out for
So thankful I was able to see Profile in theatres back in May here in the US. Verrrrryyyy thrilling and suspenseful!! Took a few friends to see it and we were all freaking out😂😂 probably the most “fun” time watching a movie in the theatre this year for sure lol. Glad you liked it!! Have you seen the Netflix zombie show Black Summer? I just watched it earlier this month and was very surprised by how much I liked it!also have been watching AHStories, and it’s interesting. The third episode (Drive In) was the best and an interesting take on “zombies” (not really zombies, but similar. Hard to explain lol)
Haven’t seen black summer yet but I’ve heard good things
So excited for you to talk about the Warren's.. I was literally just talking to someone about them earlier today.
There’s so much to cover!!!
@@spookyastronauts so true, but I bet it will be entertaining! P.s. have you seen the series Raised By Wolves? I recently binged on HBO Max. Quite good sci fi. Thanks for all the recommendations as usual!
Horror in the High Desert really worked for me, but I can see how it wouldn't for everyone
Glad you enjoyed it!
We loved it too. I spilled my beer in the end and my girlfriend almost launched her cat in the air at the end when they get to the Cabin.
Just finished A Classic Horror story, kind of blew my mind haha would be interesting to hear your take on it.
I just read a book by HG Bells (yes, I thought it was HG Wells, but it wasn’t) called Sleep Over where suddenly everyone in the world is unable to sleep. It was published in 2018. Im curious if the film borrowed from it.
Another fun vid. I know I’m starting to get on your level when I’ve seen/watched the same movies you did! Quick question-are you ever gonna finish The Leftovers?
Fear-mongering spoilers? Oh geez🙄
We appreciate you never spoiling things for us.
A Classic Horror Story, Blood Red Sky, and The Fear Street Trilogy were my favorite films I watched in July and were surprisingly all Netflix originals.
Still need to see blood red sky!
@@spookyastronauts it was definitely surprising (in a good way)
Bo Burnham’s Inside is a MASTERPIECE.
Profile was based on a book called "In the Skin of a Jihadist". It's a true story, written by the actual journalist who experienced this. It's not a lengthy book, so you could certainly read it in a couple days.
Yes! I looked into it after seeing the film
I watched a tv show called Lie With Me. It was pretty good. Only four episodes. Set in Australia. Easy watch.
I love your reviews 🧡 !! What's your microphone model ?! It's a very good quality compared to other youtubers !
I just use a blue yeti :)
@@spookyastronauts Thanks ;)
I love this series of yours
You’re awesome
Thank you!
What's the app your using to check the films? :o
Loved & really appreciate A Classic Horror Story. Actually why I came to this video now. But, for whatever reason this came to me now, have you ever seen Park Chan Wook's THIRST ? Probably the most unique and interesting application of the vampire/bloodlust mythology I've seen in awhile. An incredible mix of genre, horror, thriller but above all a love story drama. Done with such masterful precision & vision & pacing that is a constant hallmark of the great South Korean filmmaker.
You should definitely watch gonjiam haunted asylum and the (I think it's Korean) Helter skelter!
I’ve seen it :)
i love your reviews and recommendation Emma!
Thanks for all your support
@@spookyastronauts I'm here for every single video 🥺❤️
I know I see you 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🙏🏼🎉
Can you please please please review the boy behind the door, critics have been raving about this film and I need to know what you think about it!
The second season of Evil came out this month. EVIL!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, you wouldn't happen to have any inside gossip on when The Green Knight from A24 is landing in Australia would you? Dying to see it!
Great video as usual. However i was the opposite with a classic horror story i thought it was a mess. It didnt seem like they new exactly what they wanted to do with this. I dont know if it was because i watched cabin in the woods earlier in the day but i thought that film played with horror tropes alot better than this.
when you use a VPN, do you have to pay for streaming sites in other countries, i.e. Netflix in canada?
Yes.
Hi, completely off topic, but I know you love found footage films. Have you ever seen Evidence (2012)? Starts off as a bit of a Blair witch ripoff, but halfway through it changes massively! Would love to hear what you think and review it maybe?
I just wanna say, that the shadow just like a cool effect for the video..hihihi
Haha it was my mic! Total mistake
You don't need to watch og AHS to watch the new American Horror Stories. And I think you'd like it. I love it so far!
I remember I saw "Next" in the cinema, it was hilarious
I loved Luca, queer subtext and all
Thank you glad it wasn’t just me!
@@spookyastronauts haha it *definitely* isn't just you, the train scene made me 😭
I Love Your Vids😁
Profile literally felt like it was only 20min long and obviously that's a good thing
I don’t think I’ve ever shouted so much at a screen!
If anyone has ever tried multiple VPNs and none worked for them... try Surfshark! I honestly love it. It is so easy to use and cheap considering how useful it is. Highly recommend.
Fearmongering about spoilers 🤣
I cannot recommend The OA on Netflix enough. It's so completely original and masterfully constructed I'm surprised it doesn't get more attention, although I know it has a hardcore cult following.
Also, is the UFO documentary you watched worth the time? I mean, will I be rolling my eyes or kind of intrigued?
Yes I’ve seen The OA! Watched it when it first came out and the movie that inspired it! Would recommend it’s called ‘Sound of My Voice’ 🤘🏼
Hard to tell if you’ll like the UFO one! Not the best one I’ve seen of it’s kind
@@spookyastronauts oh yeah I'm a member of the Brit and Zal cult. The only film related to them that I haven't seen is The East. It's so sad that Netflix cancelled The OA but I'm so glad you've seen it. Hopefully your fans will see this and give it a shot 😇 That being said.. Nine Days seems to have similar themes maybe? I already know I'll love it and strangely I just saw the trailer for it on IG today as well.
....and the answer is PiRaCy!
Lol sorry couldn't resist.
Yeah I thought a VPN is piracy?? Maybe not if she's advertising it on here as a reviewer
Nope it’s legal, you can’t promote illegal services on RUclips . I actually use it to rent films I’m unable to do in my country. Instead of downloading illegal copies - I pay to rent the movies on rental services like RUclips or Vimeo. It’s also great for older films that aren’t available for streaming here, sometimes they are available to rent in other countries. I always advocate supporting film makers 🙏🏼 even if you have to trick them into taking your money!
Hi! Have you seen Honeymoon from 2014? If so did you like it?
Emma what app are you using to log and rank your monthly viewings?
It's called Letterboxd
Descent is one of my top… also is Lisey’s story worth it?
Sons of sam descent into darkness is a really good documentary on netflix
Watch Evil on Paramount it’s not the best but it’s entertaining! Your videos make my mornings 🖤
I liked inside, but I didn't love it as much as a lot of people I've seen. I'm wondering if it didn't impact me as much bc bo lived ALONE alone, but I live with my partner, so I didn't ever feel quite as alone as he describes. I did think the editing and stuff was incredible, as someone who makes videos, especially since it seems he did it all himself so that was cool to see.
He doesn't actually live alone, the house he recorded in was on the property of his much larger house where he lives with his GF. The magic of cinematic artifice!
@@alicek5178 !!!!!!!!!!! I feel duped!!!!!!
@@MaryJoHeadrick haha well it IS a movie!
