    Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I will be having SAVR with CABG in 5 days, and this has been very helpful. I'm not worried at all, but I know that the recovery will be very hard at times. I wish you continued succes in your own recovery!

      Thank you, San, for your kind words and good wishes 🙏. There's nothing pleasant about going through this surgery, so I decided to record and share my experience, hoping it might help someone else in the same situation or give them a better sense of what to expect. This way, my surgery journey has a bit more meaning. I have a few more videos that I've already scheduled for the upcoming weeks. Please watch and let me know what you think.

    Thank you for sharing all of what you went thru. It has been a great help. They are planning on doing this same surgery on me later this summer after I am fully recovered from a surgery I had a few weeks ago on my hip due to an infection. So, 2024 is turning out to be quite a year for me, to say the least. I would appreciate everybody's prayers. Thanks, and may God bless all of you ......

    Hello sir ! I am 29 years old and recently got diagnosed to have a congenital heart disease , double chamber right ventricle , and I will be having an open heart surgery very soon , but , I am facing so much of anxiety and panic attacks .

    • @baybongdiary
      @baybongdiary  22 дня назад +1

      Hi Divya,
      Thinking of heart surgery is scary, and it is normal to have anxiety attacks. I had that, too. But from my experience, I can tell it is not as bad as it looks.
      Particularly if you know the surgery will save your life and give you a much better future, then all you need to do is accept it. It becomes much easier once you start accepting the fact that surgery only brings good to you.
      The first 2,3 days can be hard, but you will be sleeping most of the day. From day three, you will make a lot of progress each day and start feeling a bit excited to return to normal. In terms of pain, you may not feel much pain because there are only a few nerve endings around the breastbone area, so having any pain there is very rare.
      Makesure to have some domestic help for few weeks after surgery and take time off from work or school for two months, then you will be back to normal in no time. It is just a process now days, just like any other surgery. Only it is more graphical to make someone scared.
      Keep a positive mind; you will go just well. Take care.

I am about to reach my three months mark and I am having a lot of numbness and pain around my incision and chest tube area, also my inner side of thigh and outside of lower leg are numb. I thought it will go away with time, but not seeing any improvement there. This is not easy surgery, and still a long way to go.

    • @baybongdiary
      @baybongdiary  2 месяца назад

      Hi Diksha,
      Increased heart rate and AFIB are common after heart surgery, and doctors should provide medicine to regulate it. I had medication for that for a month after surgery. I also stopped taking salt, tea, and coffee, which will increase heart rate. Also, ask her to drink plenty of water and walk when possible. I wish her a speedy recovery. I am very happy to know this video helped.

      Can you please tell me that this pacemaker you put on your body is temporary or permanent, or you walk easily because of this pacemaker or without pacemaker

    • @baybongdiary
      @baybongdiary  2 месяца назад

      The one I had installed on my chest was not a pacemaker. It was to monitor heart function. I had it for two weeks after coming back to home. This device record heart function and send it to doctors. I had it only because there was some atrial fibrillation event occurred in the hospital, which is basically top chamber of the heart loose coordination with lower chamber, and top beats very fast.

      @@gucci9566 Thank you…. My surgery went well, although it was a 13-hour long procedure. They removed my aortic valve, which was too narrow, and replaced it with my own pulmonary valve. Then, they placed a donor valve in the pulmonary valve position, a procedure known as the Ross procedure. During the surgery, they discovered that my tricuspid valve was leaking, so they repaired that as well.
      Alhamdulillah, everything went well, and I was discharged from the hospital after 10 days. Managing on my own without family was very challenging, but thankfully, my doctors said I’m recovering faster than others. My studies and job are on hold for now, but my recovery is my first priority.

    • @baybongdiary
      @baybongdiary  Месяц назад +1

      I am hoping your valve will work for the rest of your life, and that is totally possible. Make sure you maintain a healthy lifestyle, so valves or arteries won't get calcified. Also, make sure to do tests often, as the doctor suggested. Noninvasive procedures are available to plant a new valve, and this technology is changing rapidly, so by 20/30 years, if you need to change also, it would be a much easier journey and no surgery at all, just a catheter through groin. Don't worry too much, enjoy life.

    • @baybongdiary
      @baybongdiary  2 месяца назад

      Every hospital follows different methods, and at the hospital, I went to, I did not see anyone wearing a life vest. I can imagine how uncomfortable it was because I had an AFIB monitor for 20 days, and it was a bit uncomfortable, and I was not able to take a good shower during that time.

      @baybongdiary I'm now my 3rd week in after surgery. I have fluid restrictions of 1.2L per day. My ejection fraction is just at 27% due to heart faliure. If it increase overtime I can increase my fluid intake , I reckon max would go up to 2L for patient like myself.
