As far as I can see, I don't seem to spot anything Elvis like here. Not even the voice.
It's clear to see that Eddie had his own UNIQUE style.

@@garystackhouse5787 Eddie Cochran surely was no "virtuoso" on guitar. He was on level with Chuck Berry which is okay and he "stole" from other artists, too. Unlike Elvis Eddie changed some of the lyrics to the melodies and claimed he "wrote" his material by himself (but he was not the only one - blues people stole from each other all the time). I realize you do not know anything about Elvis because he played piano and you even can hear his electric bass playing on "Baby I don't care" and that was even in 1957. There is an interview with Scotty Moore where he stated that Elvis, Bill, Black, DJ Fontana & he came to the point that they planned to form an instrumental band (like later the Bill Black Combo) in order to play support for the Elvis gigs. The reason that it did not happen was Colonel Parker. But people can listen to Scotty Moore on youtube and there is no reason for me to repeat the whole story. And again - Eddie was not on the same level on vocals as Elvis, Little Richard, Roy Hamilton & Co. Eddie could his rock & roll and rockabilly and not much more. That's okay and enough for me to like his music. But to be honest - I just visited your channel - and you are much too old for fan talk.

Cochran is an artist whose current stature far eclipses his popularity while he was alive. Liberty Records released a dozen singles during his lifetime but only three made it into the Top 40 (in the USA) and only one of those was Top 10. So, he was far from Presley's level, let alone other Rock 'n Roll stars of the era, like Ricky Nelson, Fats Domino, Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc.
Most of his R'nR icon status can be attributed to his influence on major British rock stars of the 1960s and 1970s, courtesy of his four month tour of the UK in 1960. Granted, this alone justifies his legend as a great artist but his actual popularity wasn't in the same league as Presley.
The question then becomes, could Cochran have become more significantly more popular? That's unlikely. While he had the potential, Cochran's ambitions lay in writing music, session work and producing records. He didn't like the touring and promotional apsects of being a recording artist. Several people close to Eddie have stated that the fateful UK tour was to be his last and that he intended to phase himself out of the spotlight and become more involved behind them. He may not have evolved into the next Elvis Presley, but he may well have become a major rival to Snuff Garrett, who produced a string of hits for Liberty Records in the 1960s.

No singer from the 50s can vocally compare to Elvis. Furthermore, the king evolved musically, encompassing more styles, not just rock&roll. Elvis was getting older and rock was basically music for young people, if you wanted to survive the trends you had to evolve.
