The Source blog confirms that the poster for Superman Unchained #1 is "designed to be removed and displayed, allowing the first issue of Scott Snyder and Jim Lee’s new comic to live on after you’ve finished reading it ". I assume the same holds true for July's Director's Cut version.
Jim Lee is the badass of all badasses. He. Is. My. Hero. And then, to mix his unmatched talent the almighty Scott Snyder, Jesus... My world is complete now.
So it won't be a something where you pull it out, lend it to a friend/take it somewhere, and they/you won't be lost without it. OK :D Now that I know this I think Greg Capullo should work on one for on of the upcoming Batman books. That would be awesom. Or Manapul's Flash would be a cool comic to have a poster in.
I'm excited to read this. Though I won't be buying the comic (I'm letting my friend buy this one. It's his favorite hero) I am kinda disappointed that the poster is part of the story. I thought it would be a pull out thing you could put on the wall. Oh well still
Jim Lee is worth 185 million and given a far more leniency on deadlines. Many other pencilers simply don't have the money or time used to make money to spare doing this type of thing. Honestly this is just hype for a comic that wasn't worth it. The art was bad (Jim Lee's worst art to date) as was the story. Frank Quitely could have done 10x as much with 2 regular pages, much less 2 mini-poster size pages. It's all just an attempt to milk the fans for all their worth, not giving back to them.

Superman Unchained is one of the best things I've read in a while, except for Endgame of course
wouldn't be surprised if they drew the line at 4.99 after a couple of issues.
