Your room is slowly but surely becoming a blueprint my friend. Keep going until you feel everything you have is or as close to endgame as possible!!! Good move on switching the 18s’ to the SI HT18s’. I have two GSG Marty cubes with those exact same 18s’ and I believe they are underrated in the power because they shake my living room senselessly!!!
Amazing setup! Would love to see some compression testing to see how loud they can get. From what I've been reading online and in forums, the SI subs may be able to play a bit louder than Harbottle or Funks subs and drivers as they can be pushed further past their clean xmax limits, but as far as clean and low distortion subwoofer drivers are concerned, the drivers that both Funk and Harbottle use are hard to beat. There's a reason why their drivers cost alot more than the SI drivers.
Hey man I just watched the video! Congrats on the new subs brother!! It’s always nice to be super happy with our purchases and spread the joy!! Looking forward to hanging out soon on a podcast and hopefully in person 🔊🔊🔊🔊
@@Masterslessons I’m still trying to figure it all out. I do like triad and focal is good too. I’ll have to do it a little at the time for sure. 15 speakers is gonna cost a fortune.
Omg! That spL curve is insane!! And it only being the 2 24”s and no other subs really says just how dynamic and amazing as these are! 🎉 Btw. The Harbottle subs come in 18” and 24” and are specs wise almost the same. I think the driver is different tho. But they are sealed also and play down to 5hz (if needed). But yeah, the C24L2 harbottle is like $11k US. 🎉 However they also have the C24L1 that has a little less power for like $7,000. The driver isn’t Carbon Fiber like these but they Harbottle does have built in DSP. 🎉. Just fyi I still love the ones you got tho!! 🎉
@myhometheater7029 arc advises against that. Arc makes subs not able to be located. Mini dsp is a joke when you have 4 independent sub outs on the AVM. I go to theater conventions. But if you like the sound that is all that matters.
@@PIPERBOYWILLIAMS ARC Genesis is a DSP and a proprietary algorithm while MiniDSP is a DSP, which can be used as a tool to apply an algorithm. The number of people that can do better than ARC Genesis may be small but there are some. I’d love to see a test comparing subwoofer optimization results of ARC Genesis against the MiniDSP using the Multi Subwoofer Optimizer software. DSP is the fastest growing area of audio and it’s exciting to see improvements like ARC Genesis, Dirac ART, and Trinnov WaveForming. I’m also interested to know how well these DSPs handle below 20 and even 10 Hz. A customer with a pair of Mariana 18s had to get Trinnov to provide a fix after one of their updates caused problems at 10 Hz.
Those things are serious monsters! I think I’d focus on speakers next rather than adding more of them though. I feel like that would be much more of a difference maker at this point. Also, I am on record having posted not to buy that Emotiva. Now, I didn’t know they would create policies making them unsellable on the 2nd market, but they are just way too unreliable when it comes to this stuff.
Those subs look amazing man! Love the theater 👍 I gotta say though….those Polk speakers gotta go. Any plans to get new speakers? If so, what are you looking at?
Unfortunately we do not because of the weight and cost of freight shipping. We hope to continue to grow so we can one day offer international sales. Thanks for the interest.
No HPF necessary as sealed subwoofers roll off naturally and is one of the differences between ported or horn subwoofers that would need a HPF. The Mariana 18s are flat to 9 Hz in-room with room gain, while the Mariana 24s here are flat to 6 Hz in most rooms I’ve measured.
@@flyers10az in general I’d say sealed subwoofers shouldn’t need a HPF as there is a natural rolloff for sealed enclosures. However, you need to make sure the DSP isn’t trying to get extra output down low as that would take a lot of power and could burn up the voice coil if pushed too hard or with synthetic signals (sine waves) that may not allow the voice coil to cool itself sufficiently. But in general, a standard sealed subwoofer playing regular movies or music shouldn’t need a HPF.
If you had one in the front and one in the back on opposite sides of the room....you would be surprised how much better it will sound. Right now your subwoofers are close enough that they are acting as one subwoofer. Upgrade scientifically
Not necessarily. He already has 2 DIY 18” subwoofers in the back though they are much less powerful but they are helping to provide more even bass in the room, which I believe you’re suggesting. Putting a powerful subwoofer like the Mariana 24 in the back near the couch will require it to be turned down greatly or it will be all that the listener on the couch hears. This is why I told Chris he doesn’t need 4 Mariana 24s but a pair of Mariana 24s and a pair of Mariana 18s in the back. We have many customers with just a pair of Mariana 18s so they are plenty powerful by themselves but it makes much more sense to put those in the back than greatly turn down a pair of Mariana 24s since they’d be so close to the couch.
Great setup enjoy it
