I replaced the cracked screen on an HP laptop with one from a Dell or Gateway forgot which. The size of the screen was the same and I discovered the only difference was this tiny little circuit board that goes between the monitor and the laptop's motherboard.

thankyou u saved me about 100 pound so I just brought a new screen after I managed to take my old 1 out what was cracked, and re put it same way and it still turned on.so I ordered 1 for 45 pound so it saved me loads money as my laptop is 450 pound.
I have now fixed the screen, and I would not of been able fix it if it was not for this vid, keep up with the little things like this, to save us lots of money, this vid saved me 100 pound, as the screen only cost 45 pound and curry said it cost about 150, BUT they wanted 50 pound just too look at it lol, even thro the screen cost less than that.
I think you did an excellent job of explaining how to take the laptop apart, but the end section of your video - how to reassemble was not explained in detail. So it seems by reconnecting the vga cable incorrectly I have shorted the motherboard and now the computer won't turn on at all. Have had to take it into a shop for repairs - which will cost more than if I paid to get them to fix the screen in the first place!Not saying it's your fault, but I think you need to make that part of the instructions clearer for novices like me who could end up causing a lot of damage!!

One question though.... the backlight is only working depending on the angle of the lid or sometimes flickers so I was going to replace the UMA cable, but is there an inverter I should change also? I just cant figure out where it is and no amount of google searching is helping me!!!

One of my Lenovos doesn't have screws on the bottom to remove the cover and instead has 2 screws that you can only access by removing the battery.
I used this for my B560. It wasn't quite the same disassembling, but close enough, and I was able to figure out how to replace the screen. Thank you so much!

+Motassem Syrian you can replace your screen with matte display screen and also have a FHD display screen. it will not have any issues.
