    This is a mix of Accept, Poison, Iron Maiden, basically so many 80's metal bands I can't name. They were just that good

    This era of Pantera is every bit as great as their later material. This was my intro to Pantera when nobody else knew who they were. It always kinda bugged me how they tried to down play the earlier stuff. They've always been ahead of their peers. RIP Dime and Vinnie♥️

    Seeing them play this back in the day, man you could just tell they were going to make it. They tore this shit up, no matter how they dressed, they never played like glam. They rocked the shit outta this!

    the riff seems inspired by Randy Rhoads "revelation mother earth" 's solo dime was a huge Randy fan.

      it sounds more like jailbait by motorhead mixed with a little bit of ride the lightning along with that to me. dime really started to develop a heavier guitar style around 1984. if you listen to PITJ, you'll know what i mean. It also has some pretty damn good songs on it too.

    This isn't glam. This sounds like Accept. Accept sure as hell wasn't a glam band in the 80s, aside from Eat The Heat. Like I said, all Pantera is kickass heavy Pantera.

      You're exactly right. I think in the song come on eyes they sound a little like Ratt. I do find myself enjoying the older tapes more and more but I still favor their latter albums. It is all just my personal opinion though. Love dimes lead work in all these old tracks. Hell I love dimes lead work period, he had that certain rythym to his lead playing that I think starting off as a drummer and just jamming with Vinnie all the time when they were younger helped create. He was a natural though no doubt about it.

      BigSCTVfan metal magic was a pretty glam orientated album. Projects in the the jungle had less keyboards but was still pretty flashy. I am the night is pretty much the same it is a bit heavier but again still has that glam metal image and style.
      Power Metal was pure heavy metal but all the while still retaining the flash and style of the 80s and for the record I love all these albums especially power metal. so I'm not hating.

      What you consider glam is just melodic hard rock songs .
      But its 2 or 3 songs on the album .
      All the rest is heavy .
      And more thrashy and Speed influence are right there since project ..
      The way they Looked , well its not glammer than Slayer or Overkill at the same time .

    Damn the opening sounds like early Slayer, and then when he starts singing it turns to Great White 😔. But seriously "Diamond" Darryl always had some serious talent. That opening riff man, you could make an awesome thrash song out of that! 🤘🏻🍻🖖🏼

      To me this sounds if someone would have thrown Accept and Motley Crue together. Especially the chorus, terrys vocals really reach that Udo-grasp 😄 anyway, great track, more people should know about the early pantera style 😜

      @@fox0357 I don’t think he could get away with referencing weed in the 80s. That was during Reagan’s big War on Drugs just say no shit. Plus the band tried to reinvent themselves when they released Cowboys from Hell in 1990 as a more “badass” band.

    In the 80s they and Metallica had high voices, but in the 90s they had lower voices, and in the 2000s even lower voices.

    motley crue is glam, this is glam! who cares, it kicks ass! crue and early pantera! in the glam albums dime has a very similar sound to mick mars, just faster and more technical

      No way , Crue 2 first were The Sweet meets T.rex , Sex pistols and Judas Priest.
      Pantera stuff was Judas priest meets Van halen , Raven and already more thrashy stuff.
      I have a 1986 interview where They say Pantera is not a Glam band and they dont want to be Associated with the L.A scene .
