Man... thanks so much for this content. I also watched the 20 years compressed video. I'm into the membership program and I am loving the process and putting in the work. The honest intention of teaching this craft that you master and love to others like myself who love it but don't yet master it yet, is truly inspiring. Cheers !!!
I tried 3 different coaches after leaving membership... I'm returning next month at full price because I realized that you guys are the best at teaching people how to go from 0 to 100 and keep moving forward. Tx for all the free content and courses and for just being you.
I’ve been a musician all my life. I’ve only been mixing my music for a relatively short time. It’s not as easy as it looks. It takes 10,000 hours of practice to master an instrument. That’s probably the same when learning how to mix.
man same. lifelong musician and started working in logic pro 2 years ago, it feels like i've made next to zero progress, but listening to first projects and recent projects, you can really tell after a while that you are learning. keep with it man.
Volume, Frequency, Dynamics Eq, Gain staging, Compression Recording, mixing, mastering. Heres a little what i learnt, Gain staging is a must.. You need a good balance before any mixing or plugins are applied, test out plugins for the most natural sounding.. in Logic if you hover over plugins it lets you know how much latency and samples they use.. work on your eq technique so the low end works well in the later stages, if gain staging is done corretly it takes the stress off your compression. If you mix in headphones look at something called canopener. I can go on but this will help you on your journey. Thanks for your great video and knowlede, interesting to see we use similar plugins and a similar vocal chain, thanks for your time brother
Theory isn't a style. Theory is very useful. You can get where you're going without a map, but it's a whole lot easier/quicker to get there with one (theory)
sure, my only real problem is, when i hear like kanye track i can actually feel the music and the vibrations opposing to mine, are there like some binaurial processing or something that im missing?
Funny when you say about finishing 2 tracks a month and theres me struggling to finish 1 track every 3 months! Currently trying to finish my 10 track album. Its been a long time coming!
This goes back, but I remember drums in the 80s suddenly sounding amazingly powerful, and I hated most of it. I'd go back and listen to JH Experience and think "That's real, as if they're playing in my room (or in my head)". Subjective indeed.

Great advice!
very interesting video.. Thank you Rob.
My pleasure!
Great advice! Thank you!
SSL HF compressor is nothing like the hardware...also, I think there is a free version from TDR called Limiter, insider there is a HF compressor.
Thank You.
I been doing the licks😮 and I need to train my ears better, love this video. Only thing, I got no money to get any classes:( good video
Could you please please make a video about phase issues and how to hear it and fixing it pleaseee!!🙏🥲
Never learnt a lick in my life. Scales, chords, arpeggios, practical classical guitar training and developed my own style…

Nice!
Is there Live sound mixing course ?
What kind of desk is that? I like the setup for the UF8 and UC1
Zaor Solo
Wow, the holy grail found where? In Utah? Where is that?
Mix B had the instruments quieter?
Thank you 🙏

Maybe this, maybe that
Good tips, but to use a simile, too many artifacts in this tutorial. Maybe reduce the length by half?!
Finally, us Utah folks get to hear the song again!
😉
Turned the speed up 1.75x. . You’re welcome
😭
I'm a 1.5 kinda guy myself 🙌🏼
Lol doing that for audio tutorials is wild 😂
@@xavier_Ayy😂 legit
Upping the tempo in my daw will fix the mix? Noted.
Wake up 5am.. work. Take breaks! Oh... and work. After that, maybe take a break... and then WORK!
Try with stock plugs in logic 😊
S’kudah wuz here
Sounds like you took out a high pass filter
i know
Seems there was a build up of low frequencies
wow too bad its still 2024..... stop trying to make videos for the future its really dumb.
This is free, educational content. You could simply... not click on the video and not comment.
What’s the point of this comment? Its literally about a forward thinking approach to your music making
Nowhere near as dumb as this comment.
Are you stupid?
Tbis is a video on how to work towards having better mixes in 2025. There is dumb here but it ain't the video title, it's you
