I was in the stands Opening Day 2024 as I am for every Sox Home Opener and balled my eyes out for this one. My love and my Dad's love for that truly special 2004 team is IMMEASURABLE. Thank you 2004 Red Sox!!!
Am i the only one who uncontrollably started crying once Phil Collins started playing. I feel for those kids. I lost my dad at 28. They lost both parents before the age of 20.
Having to remove American Pie from the audio because of RUclips and over zealous copyright laws... I guessed that's why the original was taken down. Honestly, you'd think for someone like Wake, they'd show a little compassion ... but nope... the greed in this world knows no bounds. We loved you Tim!! Always a giver and never a taker :)
We need new ownership the quality of this production was awful. I’m so happy I was there in person instead. Even seeing the video boards at Fenway and how crappy they are is a shame too. We need a new generation of owners
I wish Boston Red Sox win there Division and go to the World Series do it for Tim Wakefield and your teammates and your team that what we are made for in Boston history home town park in Boston Massachusetts Fenway Park history in baseball stadium
I was there. It was just a very amateurish production. No sensitivity to Trevor's comfort, no introduction of players, stupid song selection. American Pie? That song had no relevancy to the ceremony.
Can anybody tell me HONESTLY and without one's own opinion, why Curt Schilling was not at this ceremony? Everybody knows he is a far right figure and has a pretty checkered reputation but what did he say about the Wakefields that got him a non invite? I really want to know.
He was invited but declined the invite; though it didn't sound like anyone on the team was that broken up about him not showing up. On his podcast last fall he said Tim Wakefield and his wife were having serious health problems and they didn't want that information public. So he violated their trust and that pissed off the team sounds like.
It’s amazing how shitty the audio quality is for a professional broadcasting company. Just use the fucking field audio. It’s not that hard. Everyone else gets it right with no feedback. Too hard for NESN
The 2004 Red Sox season and team will never be forgotten!!! ⚾ 🔥 👏
RIP also to Tim and Stacy Wakefield, and Larry Lucchino. 🙏

28:36 like the whole team standing behind those kids saying “we got you guys”
This was an AMAZING ceremony. It was an honor to be there. Beautifully done…❤️🩹 Thank you to all the 2004 teammates/coaches who showed up.
Let's go Red Sox ⚾❤️💯 say hello from El Salvador ❤️💯 fan of Boston Red Sox 💯 ⚾❤
The 2004 Boston Red Sox are the best. 😀👍⚾️
I have watched this 5x and I still tear up.
They couldn’t figure out how to get the music going for the video?
There might never be another parade in Boston like we saw in 2004. The WHOLE of New England just going absolutely bonkers!

I wonder why that song was even chosen in the first place
Sign Bauer.
I wish we could hear the music
RUclips and their moronic copyright strikes... they are more than happy to profit from the viewers of the Red Sox Nation though...
Please upload the 2004 video with the proper audio. After all, it is all us fans will have this year
The sound seems off on the video
Just standard Red Sox youtube stuff. The quality is always bad in some way.
Someone's been choppiñg onions in my house.
Beautiful thing! Proceeds to be swept 😑
The day was 1000X better than the quality of this video.
What happened to the sound?
I wish thinking the same thing
The audio doesn't match up.

Where was American Pie?

Wish someone would take the photo and point out who everyone is... I wasn't sure who was who. :)

@@ResidentialEvil Got it. . Yeah, that's a pretty tacky thing to do.

13 second difference between the audio and video. Do better red sox, do better.
RIP #49
John Henry needs to sell the team.
Remember this is an organization that honors the 1975 redsox for losing the world series
