MK3 Firearms put a 1913 rail, Shield RMSC red dot, undercut, magwell, and trigger upgrade 4 or 5 years ago on mine. Kevin and Matt do incredible things ro High Powers.
The reason your mags drop free from the OPS version and not the MCP35 is because the OPS version doesn't have a mag disconnect. The original High-Power was designed with a mag disconnect and purposely designed so the mags would NOT drop free. The MCP35 retains the mag disconnect safety thus the mag do not drop free.
The first MC 35 you have is a copy of the original High Power which was bilt to hold the mag and not letting it drop out all the way because of mag disconnect
Been looking at the rail version since it came out. I know they aren’t “ideal” in terms of being an original clone but I def dig the rail model. Good review bud 👍
Your videos have great production quality and your channel obviously has a bright future. EAA are fools for not getting back to you. You should also hit up SDS Imports (Tisaş) and SAR USA. Would like to see you review the: - Tisas PX-9 _Night Stalker_ Gray / _Space Force_ White (9mm) - Tisas 1911 Desperado / Regulator (.38 Super) - SAR-9 Sport (9mm) - SAR-9 Mete (9mm) - SAR 109T (9mm PCC)
I have both along with a gently used Browning. I changed out the grips on the Girsan MC-35 and with thinner G10 grips. I may do the same to the OP’s version because they are just that more comfortable. Have just shot them both once and I really enjoy them both. The OPs was a little more accurate but haven’t gone back to the range with the MC-35 since adding the grips. Hoping it helps me handle the recoil a little better.
i would source any hi power mag from mec gar should work in the p35s. the ones with the spring assist or the 13rders im unsure of any dimensional changes externally but the 15rnd mags should be universal. i have three different hp clones, very universal mags
I had one that I sold because the Hi Power doesn't fit my hand very well. With this one, it got the closest, but while my gun was 100% reliable, my trigger felt like it was a stiff 6# and I didn't have the money to throw custom work at it. I also had the problem of some MecGar mags dropping free and some not, and there was no pattern to which one would do what. All my mags were MecGar 15 round Hi Power mags. However, the P35 P.I. they have coming out that copies the FN Detective with the 4" barrel might see me buying one and spending the money to fix the trigger, put a SFS system, a trigger job, and maybe a 507k direct milled as sort of an ultimate carry gun.
REGULAR HI POWER MAGS WORK FINE IN MY OPS IT IS MY EDC HAVE HADE IT FOR 4 MONTH NOW VETTED IT THE FIRST WEEK WORKS GREAT.... CRITICAL DEFENCE 124 GRAIN IS MY LOAD FPR CARRY GOT MINE FOR 500 OUT THE DOOR...
I am not finished watching your video (I paused it to send you this message), but I can personally attest to the fact that Springfield Armory SA35 mags fit and function flawlessly in my Girsan MCP35 OPS.
I see this video is 9months old already and I was wondering if you had the mag disconnect taken off yet and if so can you tell me what they did to remove it so I can remove mine as well. And as always thanks for sharing your reviews.
I'm interested in MCP35 OPS. I think FN missed the mark when they introduced their "new" Hi-Power at last year's SHOT show. It needs a light rail and optics cut. And before all you purists chime in, Beretta still makes the bog standard 92FS, but they also make the M9A4 with 21st century features. FN could have done the same but chose not to.
Mine has been awful so disappointed. Can't get through a mag with a FTF or double feeds. Tried 5 different types of name brand ammo and same issue. Then, after 100 rounds my front sight drifted so far left it almost fell out.
They don’t “Suck” persay they just are for you at this stage in your life. You like what you like. Nothing wrong with that. Weapon lights and red dots. Are standard advancements in todays handgun market. That’s just fact n

I am looking forward to seeing the cleaned up version. I love the looks of that pistol.

Welcome back. Watching the video now.
Now that I've watched the video. Great, honest review. Looks like the "ops" one is the better choice

That’s also on my list. I have a review of the match coming up soon. Thanks for the info Dan. I will be sure to mark my mags.

Thank you for the great video.
Thank you for watching
You're right to believe that it's the magazine disconnect that's causing the mag not to drop freely.
I had the same problem on my Ops without the mag disconnect. It happened at random with the MecGar mags.

Appreciate you. I’m trying to get my hands on a SA35. I got to play with one at shot show. First impressions the Girsan is better in the hand.
just for anyone buying extra mags, the mec-gar are almost $20 cheaper, just fyi
Thats because mecgar makes the mags that go in the mcp35 and the sa35
Hi Power mags don't drop free. The magazine disconnect holds the mag in the weapon.
The first gun I ever purchased was a FEG hi-power clone ! I'm looking into one of these
A BHP mag is a BHP mag, they are interchangeable
It's a GREAT gun
I'm going to get one and also send it to Mk3 for trigger work and a dot cut
Great video!
My ops takes browning mags. Works no problems.
Factory borrowing mags? I could not get any to fit

I did not. I ended up not keeping it.

The light rail is very finicky on these just be forwarded.

Hi power mags don't drop free unless you remove the mag safety.
JUST BOUGHT BOTH..........
Anyone find any modern holsters for these, maybe even light bearing ones ?
@scottishd0g87 any recommendations for some leather?
How much is it ?
You know we don’t talk prices. You have been here long enough. And you can. Always use google

Don't like the pic rail

Old people sigh...
When you get to be 76 like me the Lazer comes in handy at night but I still like iron sight in the daylight.
