  • A true Belgian handmade Browning.
    This B25 B2G skeet is a cracking example of what these gunmakers are capable of. Is it the same as a Japanese gun? 90% yes but the 10% makes the world of difference. Hope you enjoy the overview of this classic.

    I've got a 1964 Lighting Trap and although its got a lot of rounds through the tubes the top lever is still well to the right and it just works. These firearms are shockingly durable and solid. The example you showed is fantastic and honest!

    You're a natural John. Really enjoyed the video. I've been shooting for more than 50 years and have had the pleasure of shooting many different guns of all bores, o/u, single barrel and SBS. As a boy mostly shot clays with a Browning A1 trap and also an A1 skeet. Joe Neville in Tansley was my skeet tutor, perhaps the most fluent natural shot I ever knew. A few years ago I had a collection and I was getting on very well with a Browning Ultra XS with Teague chokes, but thought the time had come to radically down size the collection. This brings me to the point - I picked up virtually every gun in a large gun dealer up here in Yorkshire, but stopped dead in my tracks when I picked up the B25 b2g sporter with fixed chokes. I'd previously owned a c2g trap but the balance and feel of the b2g sporter was like nothing I had ever experienced. Pretty? Yes, mine has a particularly beautiful stock, but that's not the reason I spent so much money to replace a number of my other guns with ONE gun. You just know, when you've shot for many years, when you've got hold of something extra special and this is it. The balance, the feel - wherever my eyes are on an object, the gun is there. It's a special gun and it becomes an extension of self. THAT'S how good the Browning B25 b2g sporter is! Great review and I entirely agree with your summing up of this fine FN Belgique hand made gun.

    A great review John, as always. Just taken up skeet and nice to see what a dedicated skeet gun should amount to.

    Enjoyed this very much. Any thoughts on Browning/Miroku firing pins corroding. Can it be avoided or just live with it?

    • @kenaston4220
      @kenaston4220 5 лет назад

      From what I've experienced, they strike quite hard and deep and sometimes the primer is pierced and the detonation blows back onto the pin. you can gently file a minimal amount off the nose of the pin and polish it up again. Try it again and inspect every shot cartridge carefully, looking for the blackened piercing. you can get it so that it doesn't do it any more. However, I've found that with heaver load shells, it slams back harder and it again starts to fracture the primer. Be bold and tame the firing pin back, the worst that can happen is you go too far and need to replace them.

      @@kenaston4220 Belgium Browning firing pins never have problems, Japan Browning have fire pins problems , I have a few Belgium brownings and after easy 20K+ rounds pins and in some cases 40+ years are like new , my Japan Browning b525 replaced twice in 4 years , first set gone after about 1500 shots :-(

    I inherited my father B2g (trap) its a beauty, and it shoots far better than my brand new 525,

    • @stonehorn4641
      @stonehorn4641 4 года назад

      Then you should really have that 525 fitted. The B2G is a wonderful shotgun, but its really not as good as fitted 525 (imo). Personally, i think my 525 sporter is better than my DT11 was (which I sold about 2 weeks ago, for money to put toward a future Longthorne).

      @@stonehorn4641 No argument on how good a 525 is, but the trigger on mine is not as smooth as on the older 2b2g and as for fit, well the 525 is the only left handed gun (i'm a lefty) have ever owned and it was fitted to me, dont get me wrong it shoots great and I have gotten some great scores with it, but it just isn't as smooth on the trigger and I prefer the older gun.
