Every Star Trek movie needed Clint Howard in it. I think he only had that one appearance in the original series, though… nope, he’s been in a few of the recent Star Trek series too, probably on the strength of that original appearance.
I remember having the DVD for this back in the day. There was a bonus section where it was them shooting that beginning scene, Pamela Anderson for 30 straight minutes swinging totally drenched soaked in water. Best money I ever spent and wore that DVD out. lol
What's sad is that Pam was actually incredibly and naturally hot, then she ruined herself with plastic surgery. A Scandinavian beauty never needs cosmetic surgery. It should be a sin.

And this movie is the definition of having literally everything BUT a story. There was some alright action scenes, alright effects, I feel like the idea was there but there just isn't a plot. It's like they took 5 different post-apocalyptic movies and took a bit from this one and a bit from that one and mod-podged them together into this.
Just on Pam. If you go back and look at her in her first Playboy pictorial, you can see the uniqueness in her beauty. She was stunning and unfortunately the plastic surgeon got a hold of her and turned her into a blonde bombshell on every corner beauty. I do not understand why women do that. She could have made the impact she has if she had none of the surgery she had.
I disagree. Not about her being beautiful & stunning, but about that she would have "had the same impact WITHOUT the (initial) surgery"! Yes, she was VERY pretty. If you want to see her "natural beauty" see clips of her on the TV show Home Improvement. (instead of Playboy) But as the old saying goes, (a saying Modern Hollywood has forgotten by bending the knee to 4th Wave Feminism & "political correctness") "SEX SELLS"! With the surgery, she went from stunning "girl-next-door" to a knockout "blonde bombshell". (akin to Marilyn Monroe) And her career reached heights it never would have otherwise! (and she happily exploited the heck out of it!) If you doubt that, remember that she (and her big bewbs) were doing massively well & when she got a reduction? Her show ratings tanked, (I think a movie or two bombed as well) and her career took a nosedive! (Until she "re-inflated" them.) Granted, you COULD argue that that was because she had long since "painted herself into a corner" / stereotype. But either way, she KNEW what was NEEDED to reach the heights she desired, and she chose to do it.

I rented this on VHS years ago with a buddy, because the cover said that it was an extended edition with more nudity. Turned out that they'd just slapped like 10 min. of the opening intro at the end of the flick, and that was it. Also, the story goes that this flick was received so poorly that it actually killed the comic book it was based on, and the comic didn't return until a couple of years ago.

She fought for more dialogue because she was so stifled in BAY WATCH according to the biography and she was convinced by the studio that this wardrobe would be empowerment. I mean she is "naturally" blonde, Erin dont kill me my love. She just fell for all the lies the studio told her. (You got it, You got it! dude looks like a Pam - ma - laa! You got it, You got it, Dude looks like a Pam - ma - laa) hahaha
Dark Horse Comics had some success early on with their Alien vs Predator comics and began producing films based on their comics (The Mask, Virus, TimeCop). Barb Wire was part their failed attempt to create their own superhero line of comics to try and compete with Image Comics.
I literally subscribed to this channel today, and the one thing that seemed sort of wrong to me was that there wasn't a Barb Wire video yet. Problem solved!
The saddest thing about this 'film' is that it was supposed to be Temuera Morrison's big break in Hollywood after his iconic role in 'Once were warriors'. Instead his agent got him this and 'Speed 2'.
Despite its rather over-the-top nature, and it's comic book bravado (it's based off a comic), and campiness. I actually like the world-building in this movie, such as it is. The idea of a ravaged, war-torn, crime-ridden corrupt and decadent neutral City we're mercenaries play their trade while the country Burns in civil war was well done as an idea, the world feels lived-in. The Casablanca angle it's real fun. Plus Udo Keir great in this movie as a badass yet gentlemanly club manager/bouncer was awesome. Temuera Morrison in his pre Jango/Boba Fett days is great as well. The cartoonish and exaggerated world that movie takes place in fun, and movie dose not take itself seriously and knows what it is. It's 90s fun factor feel adds to it, I miss this era of film making. This movie is a guilty pleasure of the highest order.

Let's be real, Udo Kier is the type of actor who will give 100% even on piece of shit flicks like Dracula 3000 and I agree with you that the set design is on point for the movie

Dark Horse Comics had a decent amount films based on their comics. Timecop, The Mask, Virus, Hellboy, DOA. Barb Wire was attempting to take advantage the Bad Girl craze was happening comics that time (Razor, Cry For Dawn, Lady Death). A huge problem with Barb Wire was, unlike the other Dark Horse comic based films, it was part of an imprint. Dark Horse created it's own super-Hero universe and released a dozen titles that all tied together. The other Dark Horse films were all based on stand alone comics.
Saw this movie when it was in theatres. There were 9 people in the crowd, one of which was some guy who brought his 13yr old son and I'm sure it was the best movie that kid had ever seen up to that point.
I remember being a kid in the 90s and finding the playboy magazine with the black cover and Pam Anderson on the front, it also had a VHS copy to go with it, I picture what my face must’ve looked like and I just lmao.

Dark Horse Comics had a decent amount films based on their comics. Timecop, The Mask, Virus, Hellboy, DOA. Barb Wire was attempting to take advantage the Bad Girl craze was happening comics that time (Razor, Cry For Dawn, Lady Death). A huge problem with Barb Wire was, unlike the other Dark Horse comic based films, it was part of an imprint. Dark Horse created it's own super-Hero universe and released a dozen titles that all tied together. The other Dark Horse films were all based on stand alone comics.

Saw this movie when it was in theatres. There were 9 people in the crowd, one of which was some guy who brought his 13yr old son and I'm sure it was the best movie that kid had ever seen up to that point.
