Wow... I actually cried at the beginning. It's so impressive to see these women being so happy and so appreciative about everything they have. This was such a beautiful vlog fleur, thank you for sharing. This made me think about a lot of things❤️ and by the way, i looove this line from body shop, it's amazing.
OMG Fleur, I absolutely had to leave this comment to congratulate you for sharing this beautiful trip wih us, one of the most meaningful you have ever experienced so far, I have to say. It's impressive how long it does take for a product to be finished and packaged. And, not gonna lie, I was quite touched but glad to see how meticulously and heartily all those ladies work in order to bring up their children and guarantee them the education they need. The special bond between all of them is unrivalled and I loved how stong-willed and positive they are! I don't know whether I'm wrong or not, but I saw you were quite moved during the description of what you witnessed with your own eyes, that clearly shows your great humanity and gives you a lot of credit. I wish I could say more, but I don't wanna sound long-winded and boring. Just a really deserved 10/10 for this awesome video. KEEP IT UP FLEUR, HOPE IT WILL BE THE FIRST OF A LONG SERIES OF AMAZING EXPERIENCES TO COME.
I LOVE that you're really genuinely interested in everything going on around you and learning all these new things. That you take in the environment and are totally willing to experience another persons life. It's not like you're *just* going for a holiday, and it's great to see you got so much out of the trip! :)
I'm so happy you went to Morocco :) and also am happy at the fact you showed muslim arabs on your channel to show the world that we're good people thank you Fleur I LOVE YOU ♥
amanitweed Don't worry, I feel like only pretty ill-informed/stupid people still associate being muslim with being an extremist . Just as with every faith and religion, most of the people are kind, good people :)
Loved this vlog, it's really opened my eyes as to how much effort is put into a product! It's also nice to see the difference the body shop/fairtrade is helping change lives!
I'm so glad you were invited, Fleur, I can't think of anyone more deserving. You obviously took a lot from the trip and the whole experience made a strong impression on you. Your intelligence and caring nature showed through and it was so great to see you embracing the culture. :)
What a fabulous video! Thank you so much for taking us along with your vlogging. I am very glad that The Body Shop gives back and would love to see so many other companies take a page out of their book :)
This is so cool! It is very refreshing to see all of the hard work that goes into making argan oil and that it's actually doing something to help the local women and children. Thanks for letting us join you on your Moroccan adventure, Fleur!
I went to morocco last month and this vlog made me miss it so much! After seeing the poverty some of the people lived in though it's nice to see how the body shop are helping out... I even bought a bottle of Argan oil while I was there, I didn't realise how difficult it is to produce! Love you fleur x x
Have been watching you for four years now. Love to see the opportunities you are embrassing. You sound so humble. Glad you enjoyed your trip, what am awesome company the body shop are despite being owned by loreal
You are blessed to receive such amazing trip to other places. Wish you could have talked to them more and filmed them to get their perspective of their world.
Only a couple of the women spoke english, so it had to be done through a translator, which is very difficult to show on camera. I also didn't want to intrude by shoving my camera in the ladies' faces when they were speaking. :)
I think you did a really god job fleur. Couldn't have picked a better blogger to go! Thankyou, it was eye opening and informative. Wish more companies did what body shop does.
I really enjoyed this informational vlog! Don't let the negative comments about the formalities of the trip prevent you from otherwise sharing such an experience that many of us don't have the opportunity to participate in.
Henna is more intense - where the skin is warmer. Our palms are warmer - than some other areas. Some wrap with plastic wrap after the henna dries for a time period - to keep the heat in and to keep it from messing up - like if you wanted to sleep in it to set it. What a wonderful video Fleur & what a great project - before I sat down to watch RUclips - I was just thinking I was going to use some Argan Oil tonight on my face - I hadn't used it in a while. Thanks for sharing Fleur - Morrocco is on my bucket list too :)
A wonderful video Fleur! Living in the States, I take for granted how some of the things I purchase are manufactured. It was an eye opener for me to see how painstaking it is to make a little bit of oil. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw the goats in the trees. That's not something you see everyday here in the States.
Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! It was certainly an eye-opener for me seeing the work that goes into producing the oil too. The goats actually really interesting... It's actually an offence if people are caught sending their goats up argan trees. The lower quality argan oil is sometimes (or used to be) produced from the argan kernels that the goats poop out after eating the fruit from the trees! It's a long story, but quite interesting to see how the production has changed over time! :)
This is probably my favorite video you've ever made. I have a special place in my heart for Morocco since my best friend and sister have both traveled there on separate occasions. Their stories of the peoplel are so beautiful that I yearn to visit as well.
Aaahw so Nice to see a vlog of you while you are in my country, thank you for speaking such kind words about my people and about my country and everything in it. You are the sweetest, hope you'll visit morocco again and visit the other beautiful places there. Alf marhaba ( a thousand welcomes ). Kind regards Fatna
I must say I enjoyed this vlog the most out of the rest of your travel vlogs! This makes me want to visit Morocco even more!! I've been to Tunisia, my best friend is tunisian, my sister in law is Moroccan and my mom has been to Morocco just recently so this makes me anxious to go even more! seems like a great experience, and seeing how happy you are in the video rubbed off on me. You're welcome to the Middle east any time xx
because of videos like these on youtube, I'm able to see parts of the world I will probably never get to. Thank you for sharing your experience! How cool to know how they make the oils that go into the body shop products.
Wow, that was really eye opening! I had never really thought about the process of extracting the oil before, definitely going to appreciate all that hard work next time I use my shampoo and conditioner!
The shade of the henna depends on your blood circulation and heat of your hand, I think the warmer parts like your hands are a more darker colour. At least that's what I've heard.
It's more to do with skin thickness. Your skin is thicker on the palms and fingertips because its protective, same as the bottom of your feet. Thicker skin means it absorbs more henna, the lawsone dye penetrates deeper and shows as darker. Higher lawsone content in the henna means that it will be deeper and more red. Some body art mixes are low quality because the high lawsone percentage henna tends to get sold for haircare.
Thank you for letting us see this. I love visiting these kind of countries which are so ridiculously different from developed countries, it really makes you appreciate what we have. I can't believe the process, it takes sooo long to produce the oil, I buy argan oil and think nothing of it.
You're videoing these women and how their lives have changed through work with The Body Shop, yet you're staying in a hotel that probably costs a year's wage for them. Just feels a little disproportionate to me :(
I agree with you, but then the way it's portrayed (sp?) is.. to the women, this is their life, down to earth, (not wealth), tough life day-to-day... ON the other hand... to the Body shop ppl it's all about. Ohhh so organic, so traditional, what a beautiful easy laid back life... so yeahhh...
I`m quite sure Fleur did not choose a hotel herself, and anyways - why should she stay in a cave for that matter? She is not there as a journalist who is supposed to document everyday life of people there by blending in etc.
I understand what you mean but at the same time, economies around the world are so different it's hard to compare. What is the norm for those women, or for one community (how they live, their work, average wage, weekly expenses etc.) is going to be different to what the norm is for Fleur, or for you and I. :)
another thing to remember is that the hotel also creates a lot of jobs for other women to work in the community who don't work for the body shop. Having her stay in that hotel that the body shop has paid for is supporting their economy rather than staying in a hut for much less money
Thanks for sharing! Whenever I hear 'fair trade,' sustainability, ethically.. and so on..I don't really think about the huge process, hard work, and who is impacted. It's amazing how much effort is put into the process.
That lady who proudly showed you her house would totally freak if she saw your hotel room! Great video Fleur, such a privilege for you to be invited along. :-)
I don't know why people are saying this is sad. They get education and childcare with this job and just imagine what their lives would be like if they weren't working for a fair trade company. Seeing this makes me happy to buy from the body shop.
i really loved the video and so excited because i'm moroccan and i'm from agadir and the fact that you were actually in my hometown is so amzing and i couldn't believe my eyes . anyways i'm so happy you came and witnessed the whole process of making argan oil and you're welcome to come anytime .love ya xoxo
I think it would be soo cool if The Body Shop had a screen in their stores or something showing a bit of this whole process. It would make people appreciate all the work behind and also would make you want to buy, cuz of the whole cultural experience. This is amazing.
Seeing this, I really think you could do documentaries for BBC. You set the right tone of respect for the locals as well. You may have been the only blogger, but you fit right in with the journalists. Good job, Fleur.
I would never have thought making Argan oil would be so hard, it's amazing you got to see how they make the product, I love it when brands let you see behind the scenes :)
Best vlog I've seen of yours so far! It was soo informative, and it was nice to see a youtuber go to a different country and actually get involved in the culture instead of just sticking to the touristy bits! Also it's normal for henna to be lighter on the front of your hand and on your wrists. I think it's because there's more heat in the palms of your hand!
Love The Bodyshop it's so amazing what they are putting back in to the world shopped there as a teenager & I have just rediscovered how great there products are the bronzer eyeshadows and skincare are fantastic well done
I love your vlogs, but this was especially special ;) Love Body Shop too and it's great to see how things are made and the people involved. What a great experience for you, thank you for sharing!
am so glad you came to my country you've given a clear idea of the moroccan tradition hope u'll get to visit more cities there is alot more to see welcome
I always avoid buying argon oil because it's so expensive! But after watching this video it's encouraged me to get some and even more so from the body shop x
Thank you Fleur for this video, there is something so attractive about women/men who earn a living from the work of their hands and Morocco is such a beautiful country
Thank you for featuring Morocco in your vlogs, I hope you had a blast and that you will be visiting again. Marrakech is a nice place to visit and it is worth it ;)
Loved this video, really informative and eye opening. Would love to see more of your favourite fair trade products/ brands in future videos. Was fascinating to see the process of extracting the oil, something I never really thought about before!
This was so crazy interesting! I never even thought about how argan oil was made actually. I always wondered why it was so expensive though! This brings it so much more into light. I'm definitely going to check out The Body Shops new line now!
Hi Fleur I'm a henna artist myself and wanted to answer your question as to why the henna is more darker on the palms of your hand. Henna is darker when the skin is warm, so because your palms are warmer than the tops of your hand it stains darker. Hope that helps :) xx
What an incredibly poignant and interesting vlog. Like you mention at 6:35 it's a real eye opener to see what 'ethical fair trade' actually means to real people. It was amazing! Morocco has always been #1 on my dream destinations as well and you've reaffirmed that! Best vlog ever Fleur! xoxo
Hi Fleur, really enjoyed this vlog. It does help bring awareness and shows that the Body Shop. Care about what goes into there products. I have not tried the arganoil range, so am hoping you will be reviewing it soon
Great Vlog it's so good to see stuff like this Fleur I admire people who take time to see how things are made for us and share it with everyone......awesome video
This was such an interesting video! I can't believe making argan oil is such a complicated process! Looks like I'll be adding Agadir to my loonggg long list of places to travel :)) xx
Amazing video (: it really opens your eyes to see what really goes into the products you buy in stores. These women are amazing and so inspiring, its wonderful to see how they live aswell. I really enjoyed this vlog, i admire the women who do all this work to make such great products. Thanks so much for sharing this will all of us (:
wow...you seem so amazed and really genuinely grateful. I'm so glad you had an amazing time and learnt a lot!
Being a Moroccan , i'm so happy that people around the world started discovering the beauty in my country :D love you Fleur
Wow... I actually cried at the beginning. It's so impressive to see these women being so happy and so appreciative about everything they have. I'm so happy you went to Morocco :) and also am happy at the fact you showed muslim arabs on your channel to show the world that we're good people thank you Fleur I LOVE YOU ♥
Every Muslim or Arab person I've ever met has been amazingly friendly :)
bslove1016 thanks I'm really happy cuz the media just shows bad things about us that's why it's nice that no one is believing them !
I'm sure most people know that not every Arab is 'bad'! :)
amanitweed Don't worry, I feel like only pretty ill-informed/stupid people still associate being muslim with being an extremist . Just as with every faith and religion, most of the people are kind, good people :)
+amanitweed Well those people are not Arabs, they're Amazigh. Get your facts right...
Loved this vlog, it's really opened my eyes as to how much effort is put into a product! It's also nice to see the difference the body shop/fairtrade is helping change lives!
Every time I use argan oil now I will remember this video and the skill and time involved in its making xx
I'm so glad you were invited, Fleur, I can't think of anyone more deserving. You obviously took a lot from the trip and the whole experience made a strong impression on you. Your intelligence and caring nature showed through and it was so great to see you embracing the culture. :)

This more serious tone and topic really suits you, Fleur.
This was the most interesting, informative vlog you have ever done, bar none in my opinion. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, really glad you enjoyed it!
So beautiful to see the body shop providing jobs for these women. This was such an uplifting video to watch and greatly inspiring.
What an extraordinary opportunity Fleur! So thrilled you were able to attend and to share it with us all. Fabulous!
Great insight into what the Body Shop do. I love their products but never thought about the story behind them. Really enjoyed this vlog.
I'm really glad you liked it - I totally felt the same way after this trip :) x

I think Fleur seemed so calm and natural throughout this video. She looked so beautiful 💕

I'm from Morocco and I live there. I have been subscribed to you for a while and I am so glad that you're enjoying visiting our country!
I absolutely loved this. I actually work in The Body Shop and found this very interesting. Can't wait to share this with all the customers. Thank you.
What a wonderful experience you got to share with all of us. The Body Shop truly is a great brand to buy from.

Ashleigh Targett This is true, but I still think the message they are trying to portray and the reality of their trip don't match up.
What a fun vlog! I'm so excited to start working for The Body Shop soon and to get my hands on this Argan oil range!
xx
Thanks for sharing! Whenever I hear 'fair trade,' sustainability, ethically.. and so on..I don't really think about the huge process, hard work, and who is impacted. It's amazing how much effort is put into the process.
Glad you enjoyed it! Totally agree with your comment - it was amazing to see what goes into producing just one ingredient! :)
***** Ahh I love your vlogs so much. Thanks for replying :D hehe
I love that your so humble about your experiences. This was awesome :)

This has been an education in so many ways. Much respect to The Body Shop! Thanks for sharing.
You've captured some very cool and eye opening footage! Thank you for sharing! :)
Seeing this, I really think you could do documentaries for BBC. You set the right tone of respect for the locals as well. You may have been the only blogger, but you fit right in with the journalists. Good job, Fleur.
what an amazing experience xx
I would never have thought making Argan oil would be so hard, it's amazing you got to see how they make the product, I love it when brands let you see behind the scenes :)
Amazing! I love what The Body Shop stands for and does. This video gives me further motivation to support their work!

Watching this makes me think that we all take everyday life for granted! Really enjoyed this! X
Best vlog I've seen of yours so far! It was soo informative, and it was nice to see a youtuber go to a different country and actually get involved in the culture instead of just sticking to the touristy bits!

Great video, insightful, educational, interesting and meaningful. You have a great voice for this kind of stuff, you should do more of this!!!!!!!
Hi Fleur I'm a henna artist myself and wanted to answer your question as to why the henna is more darker on the palms of your hand. Henna is darker when the skin is warm, so because your palms are warmer than the tops of your hand it stains darker.
Hope that helps :) xx
This is by far, my favorites vlog of yours !!! You seemed so touched, it was really nice to see :)
What an incredibly poignant and interesting vlog. Like you mention at 6:35 it's a real eye opener to see what 'ethical fair trade' actually means to real people. It was amazing! Morocco has always been #1 on my dream destinations as well and you've reaffirmed that! Best vlog ever Fleur! xoxo
