- The last leg of my journey home from my African Adventure found me at Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo international airport.
Flying to London Heathrow and being a glutton for punishment, I flew with British Airways in World Traveller Plus.
After a detour to enjoy the BA lounge in Jo'Burg, it was onto the plane to take my Premium Economy seat back to the UK.
Watch the flight review.

4 people working. You were lucky. Welcome to Africa.
I was just leaving! ;o)
BA premium economy is getting better by comparison, but only because they're cramming more seats across in long haul economy than they used to. 10 across in their refitted 777's now. I'm sure they're doing that to encourage people to pay for premium economy.
Their 787's are just as cramped in economy. I made the mistake of paying extra for the front row. With the TV and tables in the arms, the already narrow seats were even narrower. JAL's 787's are still 8 seats across, rather than 9. When I flew with them, economy was so much more comfortable.
I'm currently flying BA premium economy with work. I'm glad they're paying for it as the extra seat width is a must have on long flights.
They sure are cramming them in, I'm not tall, but broad at the shoulders so know how much value I place on a wider seat. Must try JAL some day! Thanks for your comments.
Great video Tony, maybe on your next visit you might want to fly Jobug to St Helena with Airlink, a little piece of England in the Atlantic
Maybe, my nephew went there on the boat once, much easier now they have an airport!
Thank You For Videos Specially The Zambian Side Of Things And Safe Journey Home Tony
Thank you for watching Charles!
another very informative review Tony 😊maybe things are getting better now eh , lets hope they are 😉
I hope they do soon! Thanks Dave.
Cool long haul video, Uncle T! I'm looking forward to my next BA flight next month, my first one in over half a decade, but it'll be on a tiny A320 I think. Anyway, my mini-tour of the AA Flagship Lounge in Chicago is up!

Thanks Red, I'll check it out. Top tip, on the BA A320, try to get a seat from row 12 forward, if it's a NEO, they are better seats!
Cash Cow for BA and what's nice about the BA Lounge in Jo burg?, it not nice.
It's quiet, comfortable with decent food, drink and service - much better than before the refurb.
We have been quoted £100pp to upgrade to Premium economy for our return flight from Orlando - London. Would you say this was a good upgrade price?
Looks like a bargain price to me! Depends how you sleep in economy, I find it very difficult as my head keeps bobbing forward and waking me up. More avios and tier points as well if that's of interest. Have a great trip!
@@TonyCulshaw Thank you, we have just upgraded. We don't sleep at all in economy so hopefully we will be able to get some rest on the 8 hour journey home.
No brainier! Enjoy.
£2,400 return to dallas in BA premier economy in June 23 And if you want a specific seat it's an Extra £75 .
@@stevemellor655 we actually didn't have the best premium experience on the way home so it wasn't worth the upgrade in the end. No fault of BA though - hurricane Nicole had just passed through and there was limited meals, no accessory packs or headphones. 2/5 of our inflight entertainment didn;t work either.
Thanks for the info! Did your seat recline like the others? Curious since it’s in the back.
Yes, you have full recline on the back seats.
Would have expected more than just a croissant in premium... yogurt and a pot of fruit at least would have been nice..
I think there was, but I was dreaming of bacon and sausage in the arrivals lounge! Was very nice btw.
How was the recline on the back row? I always fear the wall will be too close to the chair
It had the full recline, no issues at all.
Looking to upgrade to premium economy for LGW-CUN, usually a 777 that operates it, is it luck of the draw as to whether you get a newer cabin? Wonder if there a way to find out…
It's generally luck of the draw, but you can see what's been upgraded search flyertalk BA Gatwick fleet and you should find the thread with what's been upgraded or not. Good luck!
