Food culture teaches a lot to people, especially children: -safety (sharp objects, pressure, heat) -history (origins of a dish) -adventure (trying new things..dishes/spices/variation) -life-long skills (preparation, cooking, cleaning/hygiene) -the importance/value of family and sitting together for a home cooked meal -etiquette and manners (plus how to treat a guest how you should act AS a guest) -communication and cooperation (safely working together in the kitchen) Wishing you and your family all the best❤
I am do sorry to hear about your family's loss. I hope that you all have been able to be there for each other and make it through a very difficult time together
I love that he just gives her space, doesn't ask anything of her, just tries to make her comfortable without saying anything. Allows her to make the decision to eat or not eat. No pressure.
Believe thats the kid is orphaned and moves to live with her aunt who she wasnt familiar with before. The kid shuts down and the aunt tries to help her move on from their tragedy. This was one of the first steps and they slowly grow a relationship together. It also shows the relation between the two chef. She is strict/restrictive while he is generally "goofy" / forward. Here she thanks him for helping with something she was genuinely struggling with.
I love the little detail that he puts an extra fork in the bowl. Just an added layer of security for her that everything was her own and her choice in that moment.
Well he relies more on method acting than most, dangerously so. Like when he went to support groups and pretended like he lost his child to get into character for rabbit hole. I think he’s a great actor on his own, but I’m not sure I like him much as a person
She faced great trauma, and food is love. He opened her heart by being there in the moment. Basil entices the senses for hunger, and pasta is a wonderful vehicle for eating
This reminds me of that video where the vet sits in the crate with the rescue dog and starts eating his dinner out of a bowl. And eventually gets the dog that wasn't eating to start accepting food as well.

I get it. Food involves all of your senses. You smell it, you see it, you touch it, you taste it and then hear it as you chew. A full sensory experience!
Bringing her into the kitchen was the best move you could make. The kitchen is where the good smells are. Nothing beats the aroma of food cooking to get the stomach rumbling.
Yup can testify. All my nieces and nephews who's "having trouble eating" just put them beside me when I enjoyed my food, didn't take long before all of them would ask for a taste. Good food are tasty, so you should enjoy them, savor them, once a kid understand this, they'll enjoy their food
It tickles the hell out of me when I fix one of my industrial size batches of chicken n dumplings or banana pudding from scratch.....and the way everybody inhales it like the little girl does. It's always a kick in the head of seeing kids digging into something you made yourself and really enjoying it.
It occurs to me how similar our reactions can be to other animals. His whole spacing and modeling reminds me of approaching a dog in a pound that is huddled in the corner.
Of what I have the entire movie of this up in different clips like this if your talking about this movie and until I have a working of a phone, with iMovie l, that I can also upload to RUclips and that has space for me to do that: as I was using an old iPod that literally fell apart, I can only make shorts just now if it’s anything else x
Hehe zajebista scena. Potraktował małą jak małego zwierzaka, którego chcesz nauczyć jedzenia czegoś innego. Zwierzak nie ruszy niczego nowego jeśli nie zobaczy jak ktoś inny to zjada. Taka prymitywna zasada. Ale działa! :) Wygląda na scenę improwizowaną. ;)
Is this everyone’s first introduction to American remakes of foreign films? It was popular to do in the 2000s: let me in, the ring, the grudge, old boy, 12 monkeys etc. even Darren Aronofsky bought rights to perfect blue just so he can recreate one scene in requiem for a dream. It’s the same because it’s supposed to be the same, they got the rights to the film and made an English v. It’s not inspired by the German Mostly martha, it’s basically a beat by best recreation for audiences that want an English version. Sadly, a lot of people don’t watch foreign films and the only way of getting them to watch this is if it’s in their native language.
True but a lot of people do these things: they’re are so many things that they cannot control in their own lives but they can control wether they eat or not
Well I don’t do it via computer as I don’t own one but I’m about to soon but I also need to know how to take the clips of the disk via computer instead of filming it from the tv and using an app to get it into clips. Either way I watch it once it’s up and if I don’t like it I take it down and film it until I like it. I also know however that over 75% of people watch my videos via tv on the RUclips app and I know that’s shit quality, watching via phone has perfect quality

her sister is dead
@@karenling2106 okay?
@@karenling2106 Are you talking about my sisters keeper? Same actor different movie, if u are
I love that no one made a spectacle about her eating, the thank you and everything was so subtle.
There was an abundance of relief in that thank you in addition to gratitude!
I know nothing about the context, but as a parent, the sight of a child sleeping with a full belly...means everything.
As a parent, I take from this, she STOLE his FOOD! JUST LIKE A KID!!!! FOOD THIEF~!!!!!

Love how he eats it in the most kid way possible.
Slurping the strands, so she hears it.
I love the little detail that he puts an extra fork in the bowl. Just an added layer of security for her that everything was her own and her choice in that moment.
One of my favorite parts, too. Actions speak louder than words
I did not even notice. Thanks for pointing it out ❤
I think it is impossible for Aaron Eckhart to give a bad performance; he is just such a great actor and with Abigail breslin... very well done
Well he relies more on method acting than most, dangerously so. Like when he went to support groups and pretended like he lost his child to get into character for rabbit hole. I think he’s a great actor on his own, but I’m not sure I like him much as a person
very true... I have never seen a movie of his that wasn't at least good!
I take that back he was in a western in 2003 called "The Missing"... terrible movie!
I, Frankenstein... he's poor but the film is utterly poor.
She faced great trauma, and food is love. He opened her heart by being there in the moment. Basil entices the senses for hunger, and pasta is a wonderful vehicle for eating

And it works! Had a rescue that was too scared to eat so I just started pretending I was eating it and after a while she started eating it too.
Rocky Kanaka - Just Sitting With Dogs, right here on RUclips.

It’s awesome how quick he springs into action when he learns what the problem is
It's not about the food, it's about the relationship with food

Harvey dent really was the best guy before he became 2-face lol
Aaron Eckhart is an underrated actor IMO.
Based on what rating system?
I agree, he's great in everything he does.
Life normally begins and ends in a hospital...but life is lived in the kitchen!

***** and then some!
A full belly of pasta then bed yeah you sleep don't forget a glass of cold milk to wash it down.
Don't know about the milk but I agree
You just forgot the garlic bread. Pasta, milk, & garlic bread. Yum.
As wonderful as that sounds. That’s not a good sleep. That’s a coma. 🍝🥛🥖
Not many people see he had two forks, and left one when he handed her the plate.
I actually never noticed that 😆
didn't notice that it was a second fork; thought it was a spoon
Such a good film. The major cast choices were perfect.
I have not seen this movie.....but this scene is simply adorable
Abigail was so cute back then.
Makes me hungry
My heartless ass thinking how rude that girl is for just digging into that man's food.
Aaron such a great actor
This is a great scene!
Classy move.😊

Spaghetti looks so good

Yep, and not a good one.
Why did they give Aaron Eckhart that terrible haircut?
Made him look younger. In real life, he's two years older than Catherine Zeta Jones. But in the movie he's playing a younger character.
