Turkey 2020 showed why he is the best of his generation. While my favourite driver spun chasing Perez for the lead, Hamilton kept his cool to take a magnificent victory and his (for now) final title. As a fan of the sport, I like the current rivalry between #1 and #44 and despite all what happened between both fan bases (mostly the toxic online groups only..) I do hope that 2023 will bring some nice track battles between Verstappen and Hamilton.
Dream on, Senna Prost and Schumacher would have wiped the floor with the current crop. They were faster anyway but would have been even quicker in today’s cars.
No other drivers had world champion in the same car when fighting for the championship. Lewis had 3 world champion in the same car and beat them all something max will never have

Sir Lewis Hamilton is definitely the GOAT. People who supported Max during 2021 and 2022 don’t realise but they supported him because they knew Hamilton was the GOAT because he kept winning. He is rightfully a Sir and I wish him the best in 2023!
Lewis won his first WDC title in 2008. 6 years later he won his 2nd WDC title and Lewis was 29 years old. Max won his 1st WDC title in 2021. Max won his 2nd WDC title in 2022...so back-to-back titles....and Max is only 25 years old.

@@jgonzalesm6 Yes that's correct if Masi had followed the rules and let the other cars through then max would still have been right behind lewis and probably would have won if the race had been restarted. So why didn't he do that? Main reason was that there wasn't enough time to let all the backmarkers through without finishing under safety car (which has happened before and is perfectly legal to do). Also Mercedes should not have pit Lewis as max could have just seen him pit and stay out, Mercedes keeping lewis out was the perfect strategy for the agreed upon set of rules. It was not however the best strategy for a made up set of rules that favoured the drama over the integrity of the sport.

There was a VSC before the Latifi crash and Mercedes coulda-woulda-shoulda pit Lewis then instead of leaving Lewis out. Read article 15.3 under the FIA articles where the Race Director makes final decision of how a race transpires and overriding the stewards. (2022) Also, when it comes to unlapped cars, under the 2022 article ANY does not mean ALL. That has changed from 2023.

GOAT is a strong word buddy. In the conversation , Yes. I Supported Hamilton in 2008-2009 , I still am a fan of his but never will be a blind fanboy. Hamilton is a Talented driver , no doubt but has many weaknesses. He Can't defend too well, he's Above Average in Wheel to wheel battle & corner overtaking , he's great in straight line overtaking (given the car is Top). He's a Great qualifier and Very good at managing the Top car in the front and bringing it home, Hence the Victories. He is a very good driver who had Title winning capacity Cars for 11 of his first 14 seasons in F1 which in itself is a miracle because most former W.Champions never had such fortune. His Gamble with Mercedes move was highly fortunate & fruitful. He may have the wins but he's not the GOAT. F1 is highly Machine dependent and there's a serious, luck / right place at the right time factor. We should judge the performances of all the World champions when they did not have the best cars too, Lewis' performances are not great if the car isn't the No.1, he struggles even if it's 2nd best. In 21st century Alonso is the best racer I've seen, Race starts, Awareness, Attack, Defense , overtakes, getting Extraordinary results in Sub-par Cars, tyre management, Race craft etc. and I had more reason to hate Alonso as a Schumi Fan , Suppoter of Lewis & Vettel in Redbull but i gained immense respect for Alonso over the years, he's is The greatest racer in 21st century IMO then we can add on whomever. In 20th century , the Greatest conversation is between Fangio, Clarke, Senna, Schumacher (since 2 title were in 90's) & Prost (highly underrated).
Schmacher got both his 20th century wdc by cheating. Hamilton was an insanly good rookie in mclaren, and definitely deserves credit for that (considering he was equal to alsonso who was the reigning WDC). Yeah he was lucky but he still beat his teammates (mostly) and the year that he didn’t he only lost to a blowout at malaysia. In 2021 he nearly beat verstappen in a worse car, now verstappen 100% should have won 2021 (and did). And while i will agree that alsonso has been very good, hes only been winning in a good cars (with the exception of 2012).

I would put Scumacher in the same cartegory as Hamilton. He also lacked defending (racing) skills, definitely could drive and manage the races. Fangio, Clark, Senna, Prost - I could agree on that. Prost was great until he painfully lost to Senna. I consider the 80's the best era of formula 1. Fast cars, not much of computer aids and dangerous. Somehow I would love to add Lauda and Piquet to the conversation as well.

Correction - His Car/Team was Greatest of all time. Rememeber, Hamilton got beat by his new team mate last year (Russell) and the Greatest of all Verstappen in 2021 - Hamilton will only ever be known as the driver that can only win in a winning car.
Hamilton wasn't in the fastest car in 2017 and 2018 but managed to win still.. you have to be smoking or blind not to admit Hamilton is the greatest of all. Even in 2021 Red bull got the fastest car and Lewis was Rob!! But then again is a white man sport so what do espect?

Russell didn't test setups this year for Mercedes at the start, after Canada Lewis was the 3rd highest point scoring driver. Sir Lewis Hamilton is definitely the GOAT. People who supported Max during 2021 and 2022 don’t realise but they supported him because they knew Hamilton was the GOAT because he kept winning. He is rightfully a Sir and I wish him the best in 2023!

Max won his 1st WDC title in 2021. Max won his 2nd WDC title in 2022...so back-to-back titles....and Max is only 25 years old.

Why did Mercedes leave Lewis on 39 lap old tires? IF Masi would have let ALL cars unlap themselves on lap 56, Max still wins as opposed to only letting 5 cars unlap themselves on lap 57. MAX WINS.
@@jgonzalesm6 Yes that's correct if Masi had followed the rules and let the other cars through then max would still have been right behind lewis and probably would have won if the race had been restarted. So why didn't he do that? Main reason was that there wasn't enough time to let all the backmarkers through without finishing under safety car (which has happened before and is perfectly legal to do).
Also Mercedes should not have pit Lewis as max could have just seen him pit and stay out, Mercedes keeping lewis out was the perfect strategy for the agreed upon set of rules. It was not however the best strategy for a made up set of rules that favoured the drama over the integrity of the sport.

GOAT is a strong word buddy. In the conversation , Yes. I Supported Hamilton in 2008-2009 , I still am a fan of his but never will be a blind fanboy. Hamilton is a Talented driver , no doubt but has many weaknesses. He Can't defend too well, he's Above Average in Wheel to wheel battle & corner overtaking , he's great in straight line overtaking (given the car is Top). He's a Great qualifier and Very good at managing the Top car in the front and bringing it home, Hence the Victories. He is a very good driver who had Title winning capacity Cars for 11 of his first 14 seasons in F1 which in itself is a miracle because most former W.Champions never had such fortune. His Gamble with Mercedes move was highly fortunate & fruitful. He may have the wins but he's not the GOAT. F1 is highly Machine dependent and there's a serious, luck / right place at the right time factor. We should judge the performances of all the World champions when they did not have the best cars too, Lewis' performances are not great if the car isn't the No.1, he struggles even if it's 2nd best. In 21st century Alonso is the best racer I've seen, Race starts, Awareness, Attack, Defense , overtakes, getting Extraordinary results in Sub-par Cars, tyre management, Race craft etc. and I had more reason to hate Alonso as a Schumi Fan , Suppoter of Lewis & Vettel in Redbull but i gained immense respect for Alonso over the years, he's is The greatest racer in 21st century IMO then we can add on whomever. In 20th century , the Greatest conversation is between Fangio, Clarke, Senna, Schumacher (since 2 title were in 90's) & Prost (highly underrated).
Schmacher got both his 20th century wdc by cheating. Hamilton was an insanly good rookie in mclaren, and definitely deserves credit for that (considering he was equal to alsonso who was the reigning WDC). Yeah he was lucky but he still beat his teammates (mostly) and the year that he didn’t he only lost to a blowout at malaysia. In 2021 he nearly beat verstappen in a worse car, now verstappen 100% should have won 2021 (and did). And while i will agree that alsonso has been very good, hes only been winning in a good cars (with the exception of 2012).

I would put Scumacher in the same cartegory as Hamilton. He also lacked defending (racing) skills, definitely could drive and manage the races. Fangio, Clark, Senna, Prost - I could agree on that. Prost was great until he painfully lost to Senna. I consider the 80's the best era of formula 1. Fast cars, not much of computer aids and dangerous. Somehow I would love to add Lauda and Piquet to the conversation as well.

Had the fastest car = look at my comment above. Everyone who wins has had a fast car. Didn't win this year = not that easy in a car 1.5 second off the pace, not to mention he would've won Spain, Silverstone, Hungary (maybe Zandvoort), Mexico and Brazil on pace had he not had bad luck and/or strategy and/or collisions. George didn't beat him by miles either. As I said, Lewis did testing in terms of setup on that car and George didn't. If he isn't the GOAT, who is?

Zandvoort 2021 was a good example, crying over 1 point for fastest lap when bottas got it. A goat would get the FL back instead of tell his team to make his teammate back off

And Zandvoort 2021 was basic team strategy, literally sny team today would do that if one of them was in a championship fight.
