Yeah, you know what's worse than being chased around an overrun space station by Xenomorphs? Being chased around an overrun space station with very pissed off Xenomorphs.
This game is a literal Alien movie simulator. Perfectly captured what it means to be in this sort of situation, the developers proved what to do when you have a licensed property.
Indeed. I wouldn't call it the best horror game or a perfect one in general, but it might be the most source accurate and best licensed game I've ever played
I'd say it's got to be equal. The blue light illuminating the rain and the scene with where the xenos crawl out of the nest onto the core are both top tier eye candy.
This was brilliant. I remember going from feeling of being secure inside the control-room after running around outside constantly paranoid. Then the nest is destroyed and all is good... and then they are suddenly all around you. I never felt so exposed in the entire game.
Absolutely loved this part of the game, so much tension, excellent visual and sound effects (especially the synchronous whir when the energy is focused), and a feeling of accomplishment. I was like "take that you alien ****'s!". It would be cool to see the rest of the station when the reactor is in overload condition, but before you focus its power unto itself; perhaps the lights would be on!
I know! This game is so great, visually and atmospherically. It would be pretty cool to see the effects of the reactor purge on the rest of the ship as well! Absolutely my favorite game of all time based off of my favorite movie of all time!
This mission and the one in the alien hive scared the shit out of me. Something about the whirring up, blaring noise all of these reactors make...it's terrifying.
@@सुनीलतोरानी I wouldn't have made it past the first mission lmfao. I am a pretty easily rattled person haha. No way could I deal with all the alarms and noises and dark corridors, way too much suspense.
The hive mission was definitely the most frightening for me. So much interference on your motion tracker. You rely on that to let you know where something is. But here, you have to use your ears and your eyes avoid not one, but several of them
This and the Anesidora's reactor overload might explain why Amanda never had kids later in life. Imagine all the radiation her body must have soaked up between the two.
@@Commander_Shepard.Ellen Ripley would have only been able to check out the records Burke himself gave her, though. WY covers up all sorts of stuff. You really can't trust their official records.
Hell Yess! I would love to see the back story/(all the)lore before what happened, before the Alien came on board Sevastopol and also during too. This can absolutely be turned/made into a movie. I would love to see Alien Isolation: The Movie!!
My impression is that they weren't actually in the nest. The ones that jumpscare you at the control room window must have already been climbing the structure and weren't close enough to the reactor to be vaporised.
Nope they were immune to electricity. All ripley did was cracked open a sleeping hornet’s nest and all of the hornets come rushing out extremely pissed.
When i played through this scene, my motion tracker let out a single faint beep just before the aliens jumpscare you after the reactor purge. it made this 1000x scarier, as for half a second i went "is there an alien by me?" before the jumpscare
This was the most memorable part of the game for me. :) I've finished this week, it's for sure one of my favorite games of all time and a masterpiece. Played on Switch, that port seems made with magic.
I've never even played the game but it still gives me goosebumps. When you're out of the control room, you have the threat of xenomorphs being all around you, threatening to jump out and kill you at any moment. Not just that, the sounds and visuals that the reactor makes makes you feel like the reactor could just blow up and you'd be able to do nothing about it.
This level was a pure adrenaline rush, white knuckle the whole time. Thinking there's NO WAY that they won't come get me. Then seeing all those xenos come out after the purge was pure PANIC
She was trying to save the remaining people alive on the station by destroying the nest and killing the aliens. Not only did the aliens not die, but now they are PISSED
It took care of a lot of them, but what it also did was disperse pretty much the rest that survived it including the face huggers down there. From bad to worse at this part with Ripley witnessing it all. Nostalgia. 😱👽☠️
they deliberately showed the aliens as invulnerable in the game as that's the way they were presented in the original film, this game ignores all the other "lore"
I'm not sure if they're "immune" per se, but yes, in the lore xenos are much more resistant to electricity than us humans. A xenomorph's body is primarily made out of a silicon compound (they're not a carbon-based lifeform like us), which is a semiconductor material. (That is, it does conduct electricity, although not as well as metals.) In fact, the reason why xenomorphs always seem to build their hives inside human buildings is because they LIKE the electricity in our structures. Apparently it feels "nice" to them.
Anyone notice the big ass alien where the walkway splits just to the left. It’s right around that single beep just before the aliens scare Ripley at the window.
This game was a masterpiece. I really wish a sequel (or prequel) was in the works. I still want an Outlast-style survival game where you play as Newt during the time she spent surviving all alone with the aliens. No weapons, just running, stealth and hiding along with tools to help you.
The only thing missing from this game is a fucking climatic ENDING!!! I mean, imagine this sequence but instead of doing nothig, actually ending the game in a escape sequence with explosions, countdown, while the alien can still kill you and obviosuly with all that amazing sound effect and the core overcharging!
@@buttersmoothest Maybe they painted the walls totally in black to unnerve the employees And its the future, they can make the blackest black of all blacks, making the black panthers jealous
You actually can, they are there, it’s just a fucking massive chamber. Definitely embellished for sci-fi spectacle reasons, no reactor would ever look quite like this, but it’s cool as hell so who cares?
