thank you for sharing, Betty! I always love the conmbination of watercolor or marker and pencil technique to get the shading done. To me its a very relaxing and pleasing way to color.
Hi Betty just found your channel and what an inspiration you arre. I will be trying this method and look forward to watching more of your beautiful creations.
Loved everything about this video tutorial. The different methods you show at the beginning are very helpful and then the actual colouring and listening experience (with delightful music) is pure pleasure. Thank you so much. I have now subscribed to your channel and will follow your future videos with much interest. I’m sure you can teach me a lot.
very interesting method. I have used pencils over tombow pens before, but only to change the colour of the whole section. p. s. I love the background music
Betty, thank you for this great video post!! Your color sense and application techniques are amazing! Gorgeous! So glad I found you, this is so inspiring and educational. I was also wondering what coloring book that is? I'm having a hard time finding sophisticated coloring books where I am. And the one you're using is so lovely. Thank you! Looking forward to seeing more by you!
Thank you Marca! Glad you enjoyed my video. Millie Marotta has a few gorgeous coloring books, I am sure you will enjoy any one of them. Hope they are available where you are.
@@colorartbybettyhung yes I know but tombow dual brush pens come in many different color sets which set did you use? I don’t want to buy the wrong set they’re expensive
@@monabadr I have the full set, so can't really answer your question. The technique I demonstrated uses the colors I used as an example, you can use the same technique on any of your favorite colors. I prefer the base color to be of light shades so that color pencils work well on them, hope that helps.
@@colorartbybettyhung Hey Betty I have the full set too, @monabadr when you buy the whole set they aren't divided into packages at least they weren't several years back when I bought mine. See if they have a pack with the color of pens at the start of Betty's video. Wish I could help you.
I love the idea of combining Tombows and pencils and will definitely try it. Thanks I wondered if you have tried with watercolour pencils on top of the Tombows ...and using water? Could be beautiful or a disaster I'm thinking!
Hi Betty! New subscriber here! I absolutely love watching your videos. They are so inspirational and your work is incredibly beautiful! Do you apply your TB markers right onto the coloring book page or do you copy the image onto a different kind of paper? I have the TB markers and they wind up so streaky and horrible looking when I try to use them. I guess I need to practice more😬😉
For this particular example and most book with similar paper thickness/quality, I used directly onto the coloring book, I have tried on Johanna Bashford, Millie Marotta, Denyse Klette, Hanna Karlzon books and they are fine. The only time it might bleed a bit is if I oversaturate by working on the same area over and over again. The trick is to let it dry first between applications even if you think you make a mistake and it looks ugly, wait til it dries and you can go over again. To avoid streak, try not to overlap your strokes. If you are using pencil on top like I do in this video, then a bit of streak doesn't matter, it will be covered. I would not try to cover a big area with these pens alone. Hope this helps and thank you for your subscription and comment.
I love coloring this way!! It helps to reduce the number of colored pencil layers needed and fills in the white of the paper
Beautiful! Please post more videos. Thank you for sharing your skills.
Best Tombow demo so far. Thank you for sharing!

This is amazing can you please tell me what tombow markers and colored pencils you used and link if possible
I used the Tombow dual brush pens and Prisma Premier colored pencils. You can get these from art supply stores or Amazon.
