Such a sad tale,i remember doing this and was so torn whether to spare the gunsmiths life . I freed the boy and spared him in the end as i felt so sorry for his loss too.

The Gunsmith could have easily taken him under his wing as an apprentice, and they could have formed a father/son bond that way.

I remember filming this scene with my film crew and production team we amped up the actors by giving them sugar yes sugar they get hyper at first then a sugar crash happens for better acting Samy real name brandon Mathews was fun to work with he wanted to wear that wig to make the viewers go what the as a weird sort of dark humor way and that's why the gunsmith real name Featherstone chambers acted all sad to decide if you the viewers would feel sorry for him or don't approve of what he did but try to make it make sense or kill him either way back in 1899 there wasn't air conditioning so we were all sweating and just irritated being in such heat and humidity
