One thing I like about your videos most RUclipsrs forget is people over say 18 don't come to youtube to watch a silly video we come to learn and watch something that may be a little relaxing or interesting. The music you play on your videos is almost always relaxing and makes the video so much better overall. Thanks!
Most young people are not interested in hand work anymore at least in my country... I can see these guys are having fun and want to share there experiance
Kyle, I have been a carpenter for 17 years now and I have learned ao much from watching your videos. I do all kinds of work, i dont just specialize in my business, but i have a post frame building to build this spring and i cannot wait to use some of your techniques. I would love to work with you guys. You are the real deal. Thank you for sharing buddy.
Just sayin...I love the order and organization...I have been on so many job sites where subs and contractors alike don't care one bit how they keep their materials, the grounds, the space, the house and floors. They don't clean or organize and no one cares about the next guy coming in behind. I have been pounding the table for this for so many years in my industry of cabinet and millwork design and no one really listens. It's just great to see guys that are excited for the efficiency that comes from order and organization. Will probably say it again next time I see one of your videos.
Sure do like your work ethic and the way that you very very seldom go back and do anything it's always done and gone keep up the good work excellent videos love the channel
You are so RIGHT with 40 years as a site manager working on commercial industrial building sites around Australia the first 10 years weren't that good but I leant that there was a better way to do things We had pre start meetings with our subcontractors were I would say look out the window see how clean the site keep it that way and you will make money and they did and the worker's were happy to work on-site safety was good I never had more than a cut finger and not one broken bone in 40 years goes to prove that a well run site is the best for everyone
@@SegoMan Great...now all I'm seeing is Mr. T. on the job site. Fool...smooth out that ground, or you will feel the pain. Wait....hmmm....sounds like a plan.
Love your building techniques. Always striving for efficiency. When I go to build my shop, I hope to find someone as competent, though I may consider tackling it myself with the help of my friends. I'm 68 now so not as agile as I was but still built a house 3 years ago.
The advent and proliferation of the video drone has given you "high-end" you-tubers such a great addition to the production value of you videos, beside the fantastic work you already do in your presentation and editing! Kudos, Kyle... I look forward to watching them every time.
I’m having a 40x60 monitor style horse barn built right now, and while I couldn’t find any who builds with the bracket style posts your videos have given me insight into what to look for in a quality build. So far so good with my builder. Thanks for all the explanations and attention to the small details that will help those of us not blessed enough to live close to you.
you asking about the brackets or the posts there? Brackets are by Midwest Perma Column, they have a website, but there are a few others who also sell this as authorized resellers but the best is to go through Midwest's website itself for direct pricing and all the goodies as there are a few specialty precast concrete columns they also offer or willing to work with and make for you.
I watched that big building video series awhile back. Brought me to your channel. The post frame bring me back to my childhood erector set days. Love the look
Lemi Watts I’m a year + away from doing the same. Just hope I can get my brothers and nephew to help out from out of town to make it go faster. Good luck.
This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.
After watching for a while now it makes me realize, you guys build... a LOT. Seems like you are putting what, 2-3 large building up per month? Very efficient team!
Kyle, have you ever done a factory visit video at your truss supplier? Might be interesting if you haven’t already covered it. Would be interesting to follow the process through design, order, manufacture etc. Keep the great videos coming. Love watching you and the guys and how you work....big UK fan.
What an awesome build, i love how you work with the tree man crew and explain whats happening all along the build. Keep up the great work! Cheers from Racine, WI
Been watching your videos for the last few build series and back tracking here and there to watch the previous ones! Got to tell you, you guys know the trade and the tricks to the trade! You make it look easy. I wish I would of thought of the "chain and come-a-long/binder" method when i built mine. I had 2x6's pushing and pulling all over the place! For building it all myself (I got help with the trusses) it turned out pretty darn straight! Thanks for sharing your know how!
Great video! Great work! Really like seeing someone take pride in what they do! Seems like this day and age were losing that and it's good to see u guys doing an awesome job!
I really enjoy watching you and your team work, the drone footage is always awesome and the music was great today too! Thank you for what you do! Just bought a shirt to show some love...
I own a small construction company that consists of my dad, uncle and myself. We will be talking about ideas of how something needs to be done, and I will give my 2 cents, and my dad will be like, "let me guess you seen that on youtube from that pole barn guy". Thanks for the videos and ability to think outside the box.
Kyle your putting up another fine building! Like always efficient, neat & orderly worksite! Very nice drone footage as well! Thanks as always for the excellent content!
Hey Kyle, how is it going? I just want to say you and your crew motivate me in my work life to be most efficient when it comes to anyting. Watching you tackle these projects like a boss is uplifting and reminds me that something of this magnitude with how ever many resources you have can be accomplished. Starting from the bottom with what little experience I have, I use all your videos as a reference to go by as I stare down my day to-day work goals. I would like to say your videos and quality is amazing your structure is one to look up to, and your character is a role model too young man looking to grow in the construction world. Thank you for your content. Keep them coming.
Great work as usual Kyle. I would like to see some of the preliminary work you do before construction such as talks with customers to what they want and what you think would be best etc.
Kyle I swear one day, your just going to have to build me a nice shop. I might be living out in Nevada, but hey I’ll pay the money. Your buildings are awesome.
Nice music changeup (5:00) . Like it! I work in the utility industry (lineman) so I'm no stranger to cold weather, And know how much of a pain it is, so nice job dealing with that. Said it before, Ill say it again, you're putting out some great content. Keep it up man!
Your efficiency continues to amaze me. Drone footage is improving. Enjoying the updates, Kyle. Have fun, stay warm. 2 Hammer Challenge during a Blizzard?
Thanks for the video kind sirs. From the look of the trees, I’d say that building has been planned for a years. It fits in there perfectly. Maybe your customer didn’t plant that wind break behind the building. Either way, there was some foresight exercised. Cheers.
I'm just so jealous of those scissor lifts. Those have to make for some major overhead costs, but for how much they can get done, I'm sure it's well worth it.
If only I could find a builder in my area that cares as much as you about building the best possible product for customers. So many builders stick to "minimum code" and "customer likes it" is good enough kind of attitude. Its one of the reasons I ended up leaving the general construction industry, at least for now. Id ask if your hiring, but I think the 4+hour commute each way would probably kill me.
I really love each and every video, thanks so much for sharing! I’d love to see a video about the pros/cons/differences between post framing as opposed to conventional framing. Thanks again :-)
Wish you wher in PA . You do a very good job, your attention to detail, and technique. I like how you build off columns or poured walls. Around here everyone just wants to sink the beams in the ground. And they rot off after a while. I need to build a shop this year.
There are sleeves which go by the names of Post Protectors (Home Depot or Lowe's where available) along with Plasti-sleeve (sold direct on their website) or also post saver (pole saver) which in itself sold direct but is a shrink on DIY type deal. which offer longer life for buried in ground posts. but for the best you can just go to Midwest Perma Column official website for the full offerings. I am not an affiliate of or with any of said products or companies.
I bought a house last year that came with a steel horse barn built in the early 90s that I'd like to convert into an insulated workshop. It has a leaky roof, probably rot in the trusses to go along with that, some rust, and the structural poles were just put right in the ground without any footers, let alone a foundation wall. I need to find someone near me that might be willing to work on it, and I can only hope they care about the quality if what they do as much as you and your crew.
I bet you organized the LEGO's into piles by shape and color before each build as a kid... haha the site always looks well kept and organized, awesome man.
Kyle: Great work, great videos. One detail I would like to see more of is the installation of the end-wall truss. It seems there is a cleat above the top wall girt and nailed to the corner post, and this supports the truss. May I ask that you show a bit of detail on this in a future video? Many thanks in advance. Keep up the good work.
Was in the Midwest recently and your channel changed the way I looked at it. I am not even in this line of work but I found myself checking out every barn and building as I drove by... wondering if you built it

nice drone footage! Did you let the drone hover in place, at the end, until it ran out of battery and it just landed itself?
Love your building techniques. Always striving for efficiency. When I go to build my shop, I hope to find someone as competent, though I may consider tackling it myself with the help of my friends. I'm 68 now so not as agile as I was but still built a house 3 years ago.

True. Equipment is key to being efficient

Thank you for making these videos. I am currently in the planning process of building a pole barn by myself so these videos are very helpful.

Beautiful site for this build. On a little knoll to the side and back from the house.

Totally
Agree
Just search "truss manufacture" into the YT search bar and get some already posted video, some of it is not that great, just until he posts his own such visitation content
As usual, great footage and docuvideo. Do you have any videos on plumbing the wall frames and squaring them?
I am going to make one
Excellent education
