Hey, just wanted to give Kyle and Greg a big thank you for all the great content and instruction. Y'all gave me the knowledge and reference videos I needed to build my 36x64 that we made our forever home in Montana. If you watch the steps these guys use you will be able to not only build your building, but you'll understand why you need to do the things they are doing. Great work guys.
Recently came across this channel and instantly subscribed. Seeing these methods validates how our metal building install methods go hand and hand with this post frame method(s). Super efficient, boiled down and accurate procedures. Awesome and refreshing to see! Can’t wait for the trusses! 💪🏽
Pre-drilling the locations on the purlins for the nails is a huge idea. Less hard work at those heights makes for a safer operation. You made fantastic progress on the walls today.
I've been watching your videos since the beginning when you were posting just the 2 minute clips. You guys have definitely come a long way. Love the videos. Keep up the great work. Got my wife to start watching your videos, now she wants a barndo. My dream finally came true. Thank you.... 😂
Oh yea ‼. So cool to see you guys slinging the wood around. Kudo's to the independent video guy. Brilliant there Kyle. Good move ‼ Thank you so much for sharing all of this. from New Hampshire. ~~~ ✨🌸💦🌸✨
Hi Kyle and Greg Great RUclips channel! I have been subscribed for several years now and I enjoy every video you post. I have an idea for content. Maybe you can share your experience as a GC and talk about the process and how to properly manage work flow, trades relationships, planning your work around other trades and maybe share some of your experiences with issues that you have worked through and how you apply it to how you work now. You know “lessons learned “. Keep sharing your great work ethic and commitment to quality. Leading by example. You and G make a great team! Thanks again. An old 58 year old carpenter from Vermont. Hank
Great work Kyle and Greg… Love watching the projects unfold. Quick question: any updates to the camera gear being used? Looking to make some content and would love to know what you’re using now and if any updates since “what’s in my camera bag”. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work
Kyle, would you please do a video on how you use/operate your laser level and the other tool you use to help determine high points/grade? That'd be awesome! Thanks!
This is inspiring. I want to start a construction company, I want to be able to build farms, barns, ranches, tiny homes/homesteads. Where do I start before handling a huge project?
Can you use this method to build in areas that get ice and snow? I see some of the fences and mailboxes that are set in concrete push their way up after the freeze/thaw
In a video I saw you make you said you liked the dewalt rotary laser I’ve the stabila but you liked the stablias receiver better. So my question is does the stabila receiver work with the dewalt rotary. My dewalt receiver just recently died and I was thinking about buying a stabila to replace but wasn’t sure if it would work. Any thoughts? Also love the work you and Greg do
Hi Kyle, Don't know if this was asked before but why aren't you placing metal shims under your posts? I guess you can order metal shims in several thicknesses and glue them on the metal brackets and mount the main post on top of them. This way you can mark all your post the same because your foundation is leveled. Love your channle. Yoram
Hey Kyle. I was trying to find details on sidewall overhead door openings. Do you use the structural header as a truss carrier or build posts up from the header keeping true spacing??
In what state are you setting piers for post frame buildings? Here in Montana and Wyoming, we've never seen anyone set piers on any post frame buildings. Post go directly into the ground below the frost line. We have also been switching to all SIP panels for these buildings because there are much more energy efficient with the cold winters and hot summers.
Are corner brackets consider part of the end walls? I think I saw in one video that the string line was running on the inside ear of the corner bracket that's what brought up the question. Also do you frame anything different if you are using house-wrap vs sheathing? All the best thank you for all the vids!
Hawaiian boy here🙋🏾♂️I wish I had dis bradah to help and teach me to start my small construction business. He by far would make a great business instructor and mentor. U guys fuck!🤙🏽
Safety First? I appreciate the fact you're wearing your seatbelt in the telehandler and wearing a hard hat. However, climbing and hanging 2x6's (I believe you someone said it was better than a big ladder) is very dangerous. Have you tried using your Megadeck to disconnect the rigging used to raise the wall and access the 2x6's. I hope you consider using the Megadeck in the future...for your families sake. The other option is a fall harness with a double self retracting lanyard. BTW...I'm a subscriber and I greatly appreciate your videos. Stay Safe!
Laminated columns are straighter, stronger, and better pressure treatment. With that being said, the price isn't worth it if you use an above grade design. In my area, they're 3 to 4 times the cost of a 6x6.
Is there any reason you dont just go ahead and partially drive your 60d nails as well after predilling the holes and then take them up to be set? Just seems like one more step you could save from doing up top.
Love the videos! Was re-watching a video from about a year ago; You mentioned making a tool pack of all your favorite tools and hand delivering. "Part 3 80' Truss Install With 2 Guys" 14 minutes and 30 seconds in. Did that ever happen? :)
The camera wasn’t able to display the reading on your Stabila receiver; it looked like the screen was bad; I know it wasn’t, but it looked like ink splotches; just fyi
Anyone know the distance between posts? I know they're 8' but need to know maximum width I can make a litezone piece of glass in that r/o. Thanks if anyone knows
Love you guys and your show, But I have to bust chops. For all your negative comments on Dewalt you sure use the Dewalt tools a lot. lmao I am a fan of their batteries and I don't even use the new stacked ones yet.
Damn watched 3 episodes in a row and after the last truss put up , can’t find the next video. This has happened before too. Sucks when ya wanna watch the whole build.
Why not go around with the laser when you're setting those pier brackets and push them all to the same height, instead of cutting all the lumber to different heights to make up for the height difference in the brackets?
You do know they make double headed nails for ease of temp assembly & then easy removal , kinda makes it easier on the carpenter's arm & not have to be so precise in driving them home for a snug fit & still have a head protruding for easy removal ...Just trying to save you a little arm energy & make them easier to remove , which should also save you time , both assembling & removing them ...👍👋
Thanks for paying atention to the sound on the laser, apparently the beeps from a laser level is a natural predator for my dog because she hates it. I end up not watching alot of interesting videos because of it (shes in charge I just live here and pay the bills)
Petition to get Greg a mic?
GET GREG A MIC!! GET GREG A MIC!!!
I second that motion
Definitely!!
Greg can't even get a nail gun.... how do you guys expect him to get a mic ;)
%100

All the lines on wall amd truss day are so cool! Favorite parts of the build.

This is a good exercise in logic.. Think smarter, don't work harder!!!
Thanks for another great post. George from Indiana

Let’s go!! Barndos are awesome
as always: amazed what two guys manage (with the right equipment, but still)
Always love to watch y’all build a building!! Never gets old!!
I am amazed as to how the 2 of you can build so much in a day!! Prep is the key!! Stay safe!! Always enjoy your video's!!
I love your videos. When you make the 100th building I’ll still be watching with anticipation.
Love you guys!
Happy July 4 to you guys and your family and the kept the channel running good luck with the career and kept up do the good work for the community
Great job well done guys! Thanks for the video! 😁👍
Молодец !!! 👍👍👍 Привет из России 😀
Happy Birthday Greg
I've always wanted to see you build one of these from the trusses DOWN.
I built 40 post and beam building from 1982 thru 1990. Your way seems complicated. I am 86 years old now. Hope you keep working.
Oh yea ‼. So cool to see you guys slinging the wood around. Kudo's to the independent video guy. Brilliant there Kyle. Good move ‼ Thank you so much for sharing all of this. from New Hampshire. ~~~ ✨🌸💦🌸✨

Mad props finally nothing is perfect
I remember when Kyle made his own nails he used! The good ole days!! Lol
Great job
I am trusting that trus day is your favourite day.
Great work Kyle and Greg… Love watching the projects unfold.

My guess is yes if the concrete goes below frost line.

Whoever sends the free tools and pays for the spot is getting the kind words
The "Stabila...not sponsored" comment seemed to have slight tone behind it. Hey @STABILAoffical....get this man a sponsorship! Hahaha
Nice work looks great😊
Awesome job Kyle! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Glad to see the hard hats… they’re nice too…

Привет из России! Хорошая работа!
At 24:26 we can see the imprint of the new hammer on the wood!
Hey Kyle. I was trying to find details on sidewall overhead door openings. Do you use the structural header as a truss carrier or build posts up from the header keeping true spacing??
Hey Kyle, whenever you mention, "I made another video about that" could you link to it in the description? Thx.
would you still make the wall height 16 feet from zero grade if you were framing a second floor inside?
In what state are you setting piers for post frame buildings?
Here in Montana and Wyoming, we've never seen anyone set piers on any post frame buildings. Post go directly into the ground below the frost line.
We have also been switching to all SIP panels for these buildings because there are much more energy efficient with the cold winters and hot summers.

If a concrete pad was going in later, would the process be different?

whats your number on drilling the 1/2 inch lag bolts perfectly? 5200?
At least
I miss the days of building pole barns as my job. But my question is why use 3 2x6 instead of 1 6x6? Price? We always used 6x6 for our columns
Laminated columns are straighter, stronger, and better pressure treatment. With that being said, the price isn't worth it if you use an above grade design. In my area, they're 3 to 4 times the cost of a 6x6.
Try breaking one ( swirly ) nail off a clip and tap it into a piece of wood and watch it spin in a circle as you tap it in !
2 guys! You get a lot of work done. Who films you?
Is there any reason you dont just go ahead and partially drive your 60d nails as well after predilling the holes and then take them up to be set? Just seems like one more step you could save from doing up top.
Diretamente do Brazil, deixo o like , de alguém que trabalha em construção ok.
I wish you were in north AL to build a horse facility .
Which stabila last and receiver are you using on this job?
Have you ever build a post frame house like this where you had a basement underneath?
Love the videos! Was re-watching a video from about a year ago; You mentioned making a tool pack of all your favorite tools and hand delivering. "Part 3 80' Truss Install With 2 Guys" 14 minutes and 30 seconds in. Did that ever happen? :)
Hello sir,
I have a question:
Why you use concrete for column foundation? Why not RC?
Could you tell me?
RC?
Hey whats the widest you can buy trusses
What kind of hard hat do you use?
Those Simpson Strong tie post bases, would they work instead of the bases you all use? Just curious.
Absolutely not.
what brand is the post bracket?
Hello"""Hola"""good job"""buen trabajo""" thank you, see
Can you used this framing method to build a house too?
Yes, and he has videos of that on his channel.
The camera wasn’t able to display the reading on your Stabila receiver; it looked like the screen was bad; I know it wasn’t, but it looked like ink splotches; just fyi
Wonder how much house was or building you build cost
You've said this is a tall wall several times, but how tall is it?
Anyone know the distance between posts? I know they're 8' but need to know maximum width I can make a litezone piece of glass in that r/o. Thanks if anyone knows
If you are right handed, why do you use a left hand tape measure?
잠 안올때. 보면 잠 😴 잘와요
Is that Sam Yoder and Son truss
Hey guys. Have you tried setting the posts with your skidloader and truss boom? Does it work?
Love you guys and your show, But I have to bust chops. For all your negative comments on Dewalt you sure use the Dewalt tools a lot. lmao I am a fan of their batteries and I don't even use the new stacked ones yet.
Not really relevant to the video but what do you do when you don't have a rib on the last sheet on a wall to screw corner flashing to
Damn watched 3 episodes in a row and after the last truss put up , can’t find the next video. This has happened before too. Sucks when ya wanna watch the whole build.
did you try the playlist
Why not go around with the laser when you're setting those pier brackets and push them all to the same height, instead of cutting all the lumber to different heights to make up for the height difference in the brackets?
its likely they would still settle in the wet concrete
Great jobs guys! Love your videos, hats down!!! Greetings from Serbia! I would like to work with you.
Lesh goo
Have you ever built a truss section on the ground and then flown it in as an assembly?
Yes
You do know they make double headed nails for ease of temp assembly & then easy removal , kinda makes it easier on the carpenter's arm & not have to be so precise in driving them home for a snug fit & still have a head protruding for easy removal ...Just trying to save you a little arm energy & make them easier to remove , which should also save you time , both assembling & removing them ...👍👋
let's goooo!
Nice truck i comments as I go lol
What hammer is that?
Martinez 🔨

Who’s the camera man
I’d love to buy these plans for my shop build
👍
How come you don’t wear work boots?
Who said that they aren't work shoes
They are safety toe keen utility
With the aluminum toe caps? Those are nice, I love mine.
Fun fact, Wilt Chamberlain had a story pole
Why don't you build the sheds out of steel?
I thought Greg was good at donuts, not setting up wall layout. LOL
No disrespect to the sally hammer swingers 😂😂
how about a little glue on the end truss block?
Why
What's with the dunce caps?
Greg said we should be safe
Who are these guys? Hard hats, seat belt running the telehandler 😂 What happened to safety third? 😂
Exactly!! We look good, we are making money… so now we are being safe
Now confirmed . Greg does use hair spray😂
Haters will say its fake
I think you're trying to knock off Greg🤣🤣.
Who works the camera these days
Sleave around your wood
Are you brothers?
That level is ridiculous.
::mumbles:: "not sponsored" 🤣🤦💯
