FYI, Harbor Freight has a special going for Inside Track Club members on a 3 shelf cart with the same dimensions 33"L x 16"W x 32"H 450lbs rating and 5" casters, for only $49.99 regular price is $69.99. Sale ends 9/26. I might stop and pick one up tomorrow to try making a detailing cart with. Thanks for all the information and demonstration of building the cart. I went in to buy the $49.99 steel cart and talked myself into the bigger FRANKLIN 36 in. x 24 in. Industrial Polypropylene Service Cart 500lbs load support for $99. It is bigger and will never rust. Now all I need to do is figure out a layout.
Thanks so much for doing this! I loved Yvan’s cart too but I’m a DIY newbie and couldn’t work out how he made it - this step by step process is perfect!
Sweeeeeet cart man!! I am soooo doing this.. I already have the cart.. and the wood.. I have done a lot of Shou Sugi Ban.. I do it on all my blacksmith hammer handles... Best wood treatment in the world👍🏻
I built a cart a few weeks ago, I've only got to use it a couple of times but it has been a godsend. having everything at hand and organised is such a time saver.
awesome build, im looking for some stout hinges so i can build my lc pad washer holder to fold down when i’m not using it and maybe some kind of plastic instead of wood because i keep my cart outside under a carport, but still in the elements … great video 🤘🏽🐿️💨
The only change I prefer is the cart itself, nylon style carts have no worries with water. But most will not have drawer but that too can be an added item.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing In the original video when Yvan and Nick did the competition Yvan first picked the nylon cart but Harbor Freight was out of stock so Yvan used the cart you saw. Water and all those chemical can leak or cause corrosion as the parts are going to be impacted. No worries but wanted to pass along a bit of the story, enjoyed your color, my HF 5-drawer Mechanics cart is the same color. I store my supplies in the drawers and then use the lower shelf to store my gallon products. Love HF prices and carts.
That thing looks sweet! I saw that cart at Harbor freight and thought it would make a sweet detail cart! I didn’t know the diy guys did the same ima have to check theirs out!
@@SoCleenDetailing Thank you. I bought the plastic drawers but I didn’t like that I couldn’t use the bottom drawer because of the way the cart is made.
This would be a great project for me! Some great ideas. I might drill a few extra holes in the wood for storing detailing brushes. I like the burned wood look you did. I might even ceramic coat the cart to be sure the paint holds up somewhat long-term. What thickness of wood were you using for the bucket shelf, the polisher holder and bottle holder?
@@viperrcr It’s a fun project and there is no right or wrong way to do it. I plan to add some kind of shield to keep splatter from getting on my towels when using the pad cleaner. I used 1/2 wood.

Have you tried the cart with a few gallons of liquid on that side shelf? If so, have you had any experience with it wanting to tip or does it handle the weight good enough?
Nice cart. Do you know if there's a pre made bottle holder i can purchase? Unfortunately, i have ZERO carpentry skills, and I was planning on just using the cart to hold my buckets as I'm just a home enthusiast.
Awesome cart, Brian. I've been looking for one for a while now, and you've given me some great ideas. This build is right up my alley being a former carpenter for 18 years. Might do something different cart color wise, maybe something that matches my truck or my wife's Grand Cherokee. Thanks for the great video.

@@MyGuyKirby True but the only water that might get on it would be from the pad washer itself which is minimal. The paint should keep the cart safe.
