Regardless of the effort the idea of catching wild crab especially Dungeness which is the best crab on the planet is just too gratifying. The Maris section of a Dungeness crab is quite possibly the best bite of food Ever!
Great Question Larry! Yes, they boil and shell them through the charter. It costs an extra 20 dollars to have that done or you can do it yourself. It is just easier to have them do it honestly and worth it because we take them back to Idaho so the crabs would die and go bad by the time we got them home.
One of the best entrees I have ever had was a Dungeness crusted halibut filet with a wonderful beurre blanc sauce in Seattle. Possibly my two favorite seafoods perfectly paired together. That was at Cutter’s at Pikes Place Market and I’m not sure if it’s still there.
Looks so good! All I am thinking about now is surf and turf!
Haha now you’re making me think about surf and turf! Cheers!
I love Dungeness crab!!
It’s so good!
That’s cool! I never thought of doing it that way.
Haha awesome! Hopefully that helped you or you can at least ad that to your tool kit!

Yeah and for the price you can't beat it.
One crab pot cost less than the cost of one crab at Albertsons.
So is this crab cooked before bagging.

That sounds amazing. I am going to have to try to catch some halibut and crab next time I head to Oregon!
