    celiac disease is also a common cause of iron deficiency anemia, i was hoping to find out the mechanism but im guessing the destruction of enterocytes containing transferrin receptor (due to cytokines released from T-cells) causes there to be less TSR hence decreasing the absorption of iron. if im wrong please correct me.

      That's the mechanism, the destroyed duodenal mucous membrane can not absorb iron.

    0:50 - the endosperm part comprises largely starch and some proteins, not vitamins and minerals which are mostly in the bran layer that encloses the endosperm and germ. This is why eating whole grains is being promoted.

    Would the mechanism work exactly the same if you substituted secalin for gliadin?

    I do have muscle related symptoms when I have gluten crosscontamination, you said in your video that there is no symptoms, but I do have them, within minutes of ingestion, I don’t know how to describe it, but it seems that my entire skin and muscles start feeling heavy as lead, it’s very difficult, no energy whatsoever, feels like dying; you sleep well at least.

    Something interesting on why CD8+ cytotoxic cells are recruited as well is because, the deaminated gliadin peptides tend to induce production of IL-15, from the epithelial cells which cause epithelial damage, and in addition, the epithelial cells subjected to so many stressors end up expressing MIC-A molecule which is recognised by NKG2D receptor of the CD8+ T cells, thus further exercerbating the enterocyte damage

    Having Celiac sucks but it is better than peanut allergy, I don't have a high risk of dying if I accidentally consume gluten but it will be a pain later on

      Eh... one is taken seriously by the entire country, has legal regulations, is cared for by restaurants, and has an EPI pen solution. People with deadly gluten allergies(outside of Celiac) have absolutely nothing. A peanut allergy is a problem but is very easily manageable. Gluten is not.

      Dying from Cancer is pretty serious too. Just because we don't have an immediate reaction doesn't make it "not as bad" Celiac is pretty serious. Especially because avoiding gluten in this world is quite hard! Chapsticks, toothpastes etc... it isn't something to downplay.

    I have celiac for about 5 months now still having problems even though I eat gluten free still having lots of mucus when I wipe no blood though so tired of being sick all the time it's affecting my work👎

      When you eat gluten is stays in your system in about 6 months sometimes more and i am coeliac to so teust me just dont eat many may contains as it doese not help

      malabsorption has multiple reasons, from mild to severe. check any concerns you have in PubMed (not google), uptodate as well is helpful and medically accurate

    I am nurse in the hospital okay guys? I have visited a lot of GI Dr but they failed to diagnose me, I did upper & lower endoscopy the first 1 has no villi the second has! Recently I complained of severe bone pain.. I am not under gluten free diet.. Could anyone help me please and guide me to do something 🙏🏿🙏🏿

      As a 62 year old person diagnosed with Celiac Disease, the “severe bone pain” is something I am familiar with.
      Having Celiac Disease you must realize that you are susceptible to malnutrition, even though you are eating regularly. Because of this malnutrition you will be very low in a lot of nutrients and minerals in your body.
      The “severe bone pain“ for me was due to being severely low in Vitamin D3 (confirmed by blood test).
      I was prescribed to take by my medical doctor to take 15,000 I.U. of Vitamin D3 daily for 6 months and to come back to recheck my blood to see if my Vitamin D3 levels improved.
      Well, the “severe bone pain” went away COMPLETELY!
      Research yourself about the benefits of taking Vitamin D3 daily.
      If you do consider taking Vitamin D3, also consider taking (1) Vitamin K2/MK-7 , 90mcg daily with the Vitamin D3 because it will help the Vitamin D3 supplement get into your body/bones better.

    1/3 of the population is expected to have it. If you have ANY Northern European DNA there is any 85% chance of you have it.
    The reason little is known is because of the WFAOA Wheat Farmers Assc of America. In the 1940's they lobbied to have it quit being taught in the USA. They got their wish. From 1954-2004 only a single paragraph was dedicated to Celiac disease, and in that 50 years not a single word in that changed. That is why most Drs have no idea what the symptoms look like. I suffered for over 23 years until it turned into Duhring disease. I am self diagnosed after going to 5 different Drs. I am retired from medicine, and finally healthier than I have been in decades.

      "Building up immunity" would make Celiac worse, not better. The stronger your immune system is, the stronger the reaction you get. Remember, the body sees gluten as an invader like a virus, but mistakenly attacks your own body because no virus or bacteria is there.

    Living with the stigma of HSV 1 & 2 and not been able to have a healthy relationship was messing up my life until I got some super herbs from Dr igho RUclips channel, I haven't had any Symptoms for some while now, after I did a test & I'm planning to get another test done.
