- 2 Outstanding EDC Fixed Blades: Kizer Smolt & Kizer Deckhand. It’s been a while since Kizer has done any smaller edc sized fixed blades and I must say I think it is awesome. We have yet another design collaboration with Jonathan Styles and we also have a new designer for the Deckhand. Not a fixed blade guy but i immediatley bought the deck hamd last night. Alm9st bought the other one too. Love the black coating.
I'm loving that Deckhand. I'd love to take it to work and see how it puts up with some serious abuse.

Got the Watchman WF206 in 14c28n. $31 on Amazon and shaped kinda like the Deckhand. Micarta scales and large but comfortable jimping. Kydex sandwich style sheath with Teclok style clip. Pretty good deal and mine seems to be heat treated decently.
Just ordered mine. Can't wait for the Altus Fixed Blade from Civivi now. 🔥

I don't understand why they can't just go with 154cm or better yet, 14c28n on the fixed blades. D2 on fixed blades makes no sense to me. Toughness should be the quintessential factor on steel choice on fixies.

I feel your pain. I have the Böker (German pronunciation is "BOO-car": the umlaut changes the quality of the "o") Barlow BFF, satin blade w/walnut handle, on order. I think that takes care of my knife budget for the year.

3v isnt very rust prone in my experience. the majority of my camp knives are 3v and i camp in pretty muggy areas often. ive never had any issues with rust. thats just my experience but i wouldnt worry much about it.
