Thank you so much for the gift of this insight. I got so much out of this. Just what I needed to hear today.
I will listen to this many times.
Here is advice that can help us towards freedom. Precious, (spiritual) life-saving advice. Thank you so much for posting this, and how I wish I could spend some time learning the Dhamma, and being trained in meditation by Ven. Thanissaro directly, someday.
thank you very much!
awesome!!!!!!!
I just want to say that buddhism is not a complete religon. Buddhists do not believe in a divine deity therefore, it is possible to be a (christian, muslim, or jew) buddhist, you can still agree with PrinceSiddhartha Gautama's teachings without offending your other beliefs
Sex and overindulgence have been a great challenge to discipline for society. A distraction and a craving that sees your genes are passed on. Use the Buddhist approach wisely.
Another Great Reason NOT to have Kids.
Dear Ravidra Chaturange Induruwa Gamhewage :), I would like to say, thank you for taking the time and effort to both upload and share this video with the youtube community. Thank You.
can you give the subtitle in english so we who cant hear and understand clearly can search for the translate. thank you anumodana.
@AryaSravaka Thank you for the references, I will definitely be exploring them.
But I must say, with all do respect "getting married" does not save you from such things as "STDs, Unplanned pregnancies, abortions" and it surely does not save you from "emotional suffering." In fact the "exclusivity" of our culture's most fashionable relationship arrangement, the monogamous relationship creates a space of prohibition that is absolutely ripe for the emergence of suffering.
Because then you would not let your Karma take its toll and would just live the karma in your next live, therefore staying in samsara longer and not becoming enligtened quicker thus suffering longer.
I love the teachings of Buddhism, but I often find its approach and explanation to/about sex and sexuality to be a bit less elusive and more dodgy. I think the subject of this video is more helpful in regards to the emotional arrangement of "envy" and the wanting of something we do not have in this moment.
its not dodgy at all. desire & attachment is the cause of suffering, here and in all universes. very straightfoward.
little too one sided, falling into the realm of duality, and aversion,
Is it just me or does he sound a bit like rain man?
