I am a Christian that was introduced to Buddhism by a Chinese friend ... After many wonderful conversations I started to become very intrigued which has led me here to learn more.. I look forward to my own personal journey and I hope I can find peace with so many personal woes I can’t seem to get past...

Buddhism is not a religion, it’s a dialogue. It’s nothing like the dogma of Christianity. Buddha believed in veganism, harm none “Ahimsa” eating animals is suffering, if you’re a flesh eater then you are taking part in creating suffering, you’re literally a graveyard for corpses.

just be honest with your feeelings, yourself and listen to your heart, you will always be lead 2 find the path to peace. all actions should be taken with an open heart chakra. PURE LOVE in every thought(very difficult to achieve) with daily practice will bring about great change...please ONLY trust your HEART
the mind can decieve and over think.
meditate on darkness in your life and in that darkness you become the single source of light, now grow that light from your dantian, focus this light into PURE LOVE, now pass this focus of love to all entities ie; plants animals people water you drink air you breathe food you eat ground you walk
try to give thoughts of love and gratitude of the things you take for granted. this will bring about great change everyday that it is utilized
      LAM!

A beautiful aspect of Buddhism is simply the celebration in embracing who we already are and tapping into our best selves through meditation, compassion and loving kindness. We let go of spiritual pride and neglect the "I'm better than you" mentality that is found in other religions. We also let go of attachment and allow our suffering to cease by applying the Noble Eightfold Path to our daily lives. What was is gone, what will be hasn't arrived, so we must give our best in this moment. Like the Lotus that grows among the muddy waters and still maintains it's fragrance and beauty, we too can be unaffected by a negative world and attain enlightenment.

The word "hell" in both Hebrew and Greek means "grave." In other words, when an unbelievers dies they go to the grave for ever with no hope of being resurrected to eternal life. The Bible does not teach people will burn in literal fire or be eaten by literal worms forever--these objects are simply being used to represent eternal judgment.

I was brought up as a Methodist. My mother was very devout and involved in the church as well as working with other other religious organizations to promote causes as UNICEF. I would have to say that she influenced my values more than any other person I met in a Christian church. I believe that many of the values that are expressed in the bible in the New Testament are noble and worthwhile. The problem comes with the presentation of many of the church leaders and the feeling that if you are not a Christian than you're a lesser person or worse. On the contrary, I have been a regular attendee to the local Buddhist center where I have always felt welcome but never been pressured to join, give, or be saved. Buddha told people not to accept what he had to say because he was an enlightened being but because it made sense to them and rang true for them. I have listened to the first eight of these modules and I have been very impressed with this series. I thank the makers of this series and look forward to my first Buddhist led retreat this weekend.

The amazing thing in Buddhism is, you dont have to convert yourself into a buddhist or be baptized in a buddhist temple to practice Buddhism. It is more of a philosophy than a religion. Anyone in the world can practice the great path of Buddhism in one's own free will. The end/ final goal is to attain the ultimate freedom of the being called "Nirvana". When you are going into the deep end of Buddhism practice ,you will feel the liberty of body and mind like water ,like wind ,like floating and it will activate many closed parts of the human brain. Path of enlightening. This activation of brain will empower you with certain abilities that no ordinary human can do. It is very complex.

    === Buddhism: practice ===
    1. Use wisdom, compassion, noble intentions, awareness, presence and focus whenever possible.
*Wisdom*: the knowledge of the four noble truths and the eightfold path.
    *Compassion*: the knowledge that:
    1. All beings want to live
.2. All beings want relief from pain.
    3. All beings seek happiness.
All social beings seek to be acknowledged, accepted, loved, valued, heard, validated and appreciated.
All social beings seek approval of their existence, forgiveness for the mistakes, errors and shortcomings and tolerance of their weaknesses and limitations.
Compassion is allowing the above knowledge to guide one’s view, intentions, thought, speech and action towards everyone and everything.
*Noble intentions*: wise, peaceful and compassionate (loving and kind) motives towards the greater good of all beings and all things.
*Awareness*: awareness of one’s intentions, thoughts, feeling, emotions and experience. Awareness of one’s surrounding and environment.
Awareness of whom and what one is interacting with and the wise, compassionate, skillful way of doing so.
Awareness of what one is doing, why one is doing so and how one is doing it.
Awareness of the wise, peaceful and compassionate (loving and kind) intentions and the wise, intelligent, skillful and peaceful way of serving them.
*Presence*: being aware of the body, breathing, sensations, environment, surrounding right now, in the present moment.
*Focus*: doing what one is doing right now with complete attention.

First of all, thank you for posting this. I grew up Christian but really did not lead a religious life until recently. My wife is 1st generation Vietnamese American and we have many beloved Buddhist family members. But, first I want to say I have a lot of love and respect for your message and especially it's intent of compassion. While pure and beautiful in desire it seems it is impossible for us humans to live up to. Although, it is extremely similar to what Jesus and the bible teaches. But the 4 truths are good, and well, undeniably true. We cannot live without suffering on this earth and the suffering is caused by earthly desires. There is no denying that. We cannot cling to our health and wealth or earthly relationships forever, it only leads to death and suffering. Sure, it makes sense we can eliminate our suffering by eliminating our fallen desire. We should not get attached to what is material or our experiences, it only leads to suffering. But, the 8 fold path is impossible for us. It is not bad, it is a good thing to strive for: the right concentration, view, intents, speech, action, livelihood, effort, and mindfulness. In the end it is all about love and compassion for all life. It is extremely beautiful, and easy to see why they say Jesus was a Buddhist Monk. Or, what if instead, Buddha was a "Christian" some 1500 years before Christ?
Either way, the problem is that it is impossible for us humans to fully live by the 8 fold path. To do it they suggest that you: do not harm any living being, always tell the truth, no illicit sexual activities, do not steal, do not take alcohol or any other intoxicants for all Buddhist. Then for the monks, do not decorate yourself, do not attend amusements, eat moderately only before noon, do not sleep on high or wide beds, and do not touch money. The first part pretty much covers all the last 7 commandments in the Bible, but is so so so much more repressive and strict than what Christ teaches. The Buddha, Siddhartha who lived almost 1500 years before Christ, left his newborn son and wife to seek enlightenment.
Buddhism denies God, yet believe Buddha was tempted by evil spirits or demons along his path to enlightenment. We have found out my wife's mother actually practices a dark voodoo version of Buddhism that scared Buddhist monks when we shared recordings of their conversations. I have personally seen these dark and evil spirits for myself and have battled them in my mother-n-laws house. Buddhism seems to deny God, but throughout the east there is a connection to the spiritual world unlike the west. This seems contradictory.
But, to stop suffering the teachings are all about one's self, and does not really seem to help society as a whole. It is impossible for humans to keep to this, and be free as we were meant to be. We are meant to Love, but we cannot truly live in love if all we focus on is our own enlightenment and abstain from everything. Just look at the starvation and suffering throughout Asia, it seems to me this leads to complacency. With love, this seems very very inward focussed, and almost self centered, or even selfish. We humans are not meant to cut ourselves off from Love, to find Love. There is nothing more beautiful than a parent's love for their child, this doesn't make sense to me.
We all have to worship something. I also believe that the Christian church has been poisoned by the idea of an eternal conscious torment in hell too. And, most "Christians" don't seem to act very Jesus like today, I will be the first to admit it. But, up until the 5th century the majority of the church believed that God really will reconcile all things to Himself. If you look at the original greek texts, I still have not found anywhere that says anything about an eternal hell. Rather, Jesus died on the cross to conquer death and the devil, and hell will be thrown into the lake of fire. And, God is Fire, the fire that burns out anything that is not of Love's kind. Will it hurt? Sure, especially for our ego. But, if God is Love, and according to 1 John 4, anyone who knows love knows God and God is in them, can we really say that God is not in every one of our brothers and sisters on earth? There are truths here, but there are not answers it seems, or full truths. But God is Love, and God will not rest until he reconciles all his children, pagan, mormon, hindu, buddhist, muslim and jew to Himself in Love. God will follow us into the depths of our hell and isolation, to romance us back to Himself. There is nothing more freeing, nothing more beautiful, nothing more hopeful, and nothing more true than this.
It just seems that in Buddhism people spend their lifetime searching for something that is right in front of them the whole time. Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit is with us and inside of us all the time. All we have to do is ask, Jesus, are you inside me? He will say "I AM" and if you cannot hear him ask him why you can't. There is no need to search any longer. Live my brothers, live my sisters in true freedom and enlightenment.

Hi, I hope my comment reaches you. First of all, I am a Myanmar Chinese, but my religion is Theravada Buddhism, and I m only a student of Buddhism (but I will only tell u what I really know). I would like to answer some of your specific statements I have answers to:
      1) "Buddhism seems to deny God, but throughout the east there is a connection to the spiritual world unlike the west. This seems contradictory." -- Definitely they are not Buddhists. Buddhism is already more than 2500 years old. Even when you hear a sentence through ten peoples, it can be different from original (it is a natural phenomenon we can't avoid). We will need to try hard to find and understand pure Buddhism. Buddhism will extinct one day (as Buddha taught us all are impermanent). Buddhism is not in its golden age anymore.
      2) "We are meant to Love, but we cannot truly live in love if all we focus on is our own enlightenment and abstain from everything. " -- Buddhism encourages love, but not attachments. Love definition in Buddhism is the state of mind in which u wanna do good to others. By this way, you can love everyone. But not attachments like sexual or pleasures, etc. I will give you example, Mr. A had a dog. He loved it so much that he fed him the best. But when it was dead he did not cry (suffering out of attachment). Do we need to suffer ourselves to prove we loved? Do we need to attach to somebody to love?
      3) "We all have to worship something." -- I don't understand the exact definition of worship. In Buddhism, there is no supreme being creating others. There is no one to judge you to put you to heaven or hell. There is no salvation idea. In Buddhism, Buddha is the teacher, we are his students, and we are on our own. We decide our own path. Buddha only guides. True Buddhists worship Buddha as a respect for teaching us, not to save us. The only way to save us to follow his teachings ourselves. That's simple. In true Buddhism, you can't avoid bad luck by just worshiping or chanting.. you help yourself with Buddha guidelines.
      4) "It just seems that in Buddhism people spend their lifetime searching for something that is right in front of them the whole time" -- I don't understand the "something". In Buddhism, we are not searching anything. There is no idea of getting things (everything is impermanent). We are trying to be free from suffering. The state of non-suffering is in front of us? We believe as long as we attach to things, we suffer. You really like a present from your wife (u are attached to it), then it suddenly breaks, you feel sad right?

Do you know what kind of things all religions that believe in only one God have in common? The deaths of other people. The death of human beings. The persecution and control of others. Those who hold an open minded search for truth through their religion, accept the beliefs of others as an equal search for truth and a willingness to learn more and to understand that different minds and ideas, have something to offer. Single God religions have a really bad habit of only trying to shut that off in people, by force if necessary. That to me is not religion or part of any God, let alone of the creator God. If your believe is causing you to treat others badly or to cause people to lose their lives or to oppress their quality of life, do you REALLY think, it is God you are following? By the way... if you read the inter-linear codex of your own bible, it makes a distinction between "false idols" and other Gods. It says not to worship false idols, which you violate in most of your own churches with crosses and other statues in many cases. It also says not to "worship other Gods before me, for I am a jealous God". Correct? So this is an acknowledgement of the existence of other Gods, without the existence of which would pose no threat. Gods, in many religions can be viewed as path to creation or a path to the creation entity or what made you. You can look at it as just changes in languages or perspectives. Either you can take these other Gods very literally or simply knowledge what they represent and that these are helpful attributes or paths that help us become better people so that we can reach what creates us. No matter how you choose to look at it, you should not be pressuring others to perceive as you do. Your original book ALSO says not to preach to each other. Are you aware of that? It says also that if you do find the need to "consult with your father, then enter your house and pray in secret and you will be rewarded in secret." You are not suppose to be doing what you are doing, even according to your own belief system. I happen to believe that line refers to meditation. The book of Thomas and the book of Mary both say (as well as some versions of today's included books that the kingdom in heaven is in you and all around you. We don't need each other to find God. We can find God through our own work. You believe in "spreading the Gospel" which I can see is an added scripture much later, but if you must, you should do it with kindness and compassion. Not by threats, fear, and force. Those who are without "sin" (as you put it) cast the first stone. Do not judge, or you too will be judged. If I do not judge you, I am perfectly fine on my judgement day, according to your own scripture. Here are 37 bible versus on judging others: www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/bible-verses-on-judging/ We need to really think about what we believe and continue to be open to learning or we might treat others less than they deserve as brothers and sisters on this planet. We are all in the same boat here.

I believe Buddhism makes the most sense. Its based in cycles which is how the universe is thought to exist. I do find it difficult to transition into it fully though. I believe this is due to its strong cultural ties to asia. I find it hard to fully participate being a white American raised in Christianity. I guess I feel a bit like an outsider or a poser.

But due to my age trying to explain my beliefs is difficult and I'm not taken seriously and I feel like an outsider/poser. +Robert Lukacs Christianity is a Middle-Eastern religion....you were a 'poser' to begin with, and you are obviously uneducated about either Christianity or about Buddhism (or both) because the two are actually quite similar when analyzed philosophically. You weren't raised in Christianity, by the way, you were raised in a modern, monetary western civilization's bastardized take on religious doctrines that came centuries after Christianity was first being followed. The mainstream American 'Christian' church (as well as American society's representation of Christianity in pop-media) is not an accurate representation of the esoteric and occult philosophies behind the spiritual teaching of Christ.

    Buddhism: the nature of things
    1. Everything that exists is subject to change, decay and death.
    2. Everything that exists is temporary, conditional and dependent. Everything that exists is ultimately devoid of reality, substance and meaning.
    3. All existence is unsatisfactory because it is subject to change, decay and death and is ultimately devoid of reality, substance and meaning.
    4. The clinging to, grasping to, attaching to that which is subject to change, decay and death, devoid of ultimate reality and meaning is the cause of mental pain.
    5. The grasping, clinging, attaching, wanting and desiring can’t be resolved merely by supplying more external objects. The grasping, clinging, attaching, wanting and desiring can be extinguished only understanding its root and mechanics and by eliminating its fuel.

    • @TransferOfAwakening
      @TransferOfAwakening 9 лет назад +8

      === Dependent Existence ===
The meaning and reality depends completely on the context, settings and
      the consciousness. Consider following examples:
      1. A beautiful young lady might mean something "real", "important" and
"meaningful" to a young healthy man high on hormones and desires. Such
lady might appear very differently from a man or child to the young man
      high on the sexual desire.
To a hungry tiger, both the man and the woman might only appear as
      potential food.
To a tiny mouse, both the man and the woman might only appear as a
      potential threat.
To a deeply intoxicated man, to a sleeping man, to an unconscious human
body, there might be no perception of a man or a woman.
The beauty and youth of the lady has a meaning, relevance and reality
but, this meaning, reality and relevance is dependent on the one
assigning it. It is dependent on one perceiving it. This meaning, this
reality, this relevance is only relative and not absolute. It has no
real independent existence. It has no real meaning outside the context.
How much flesh the lady has might have a great meaning to a hungry
tiger. It might have little meaning to a tiny mouse. It might have
meaning to an unconscious or sleeping man.
      2. Characters in a movie have meaning, relevance and reality. But, that
meaning exists only in the context of that movie.
      3. Characters in a video game have meaning, relevance and reality. But,
that meaning exists only in the context of that video game.
      4. Characters in a dream have meaning, relevance and reality. But, that
meaning exists only in the context of that dream.
      5. Diamonds might have great meaning to a lady. To a deer or lion, that
meaning or relevance might not exist.
      6. To an addicted smoker, cigarettes might have great meaning. To
others, cigarettes might be largely meaningless and not more than an
      unnecessary nuisance.
      7. To a human, the music of Mozart or the painting of Picasso might have
great meaning, to a dog, it might have no "special" meaning.
This meaning in reality is not only "out there" in the painting or in
the music. The meaning is largely assigned by your senses, your taste,
preference, liking, your interpretation and ultimately consciousness.
      8. Your son might have a great meaning because he is "your" son, to
billions of other humans, he might have no great relevance or meaning
other than being one of the billion other humans.
If you lose your memory, "your" son will have no "special" meaning to
you, he will become just another human. You assign a great meaning and
relevance to him and it is dependent on your memory.
Ultimately, almost everything is like this. Meaningful only in a context
and its reality is largely only assigned by the perceiving
consciousness. Once you deeply examine, everything that exists is
revealed to have only a dependent and relative meaning and reality (not
unlike the characters in a dream, video game and or movie) and be devoid
of any truly independent and absolute meaning and reality (not unlike
the characters in a dream, video game and or movie).

    • @TransferOfAwakening
      @TransferOfAwakening 9 лет назад +10

      2. A female pig might appear very "special" to a male pig. If you are a
meat-eater and you eat pork, you might not care whether you are eating
the flesh of a male pig or a female pig. You might not be even able to
tell whether the flesh you ate came from a male pig or female pig.
The “female” pig might have a very “special” meaning. But, that
“special” meaning is relevant only to a male pig. It takes a male pig to
recognize that “specialness”. This specialness is largely assigned by
the “male” pig and is dependent on the “male” pig.
Because, someone or something wants, desires, needs it or otherwise
interacts or is affected by it… ...the things appear to have meaning,
      reality and existence.
      3. The meaning, relevance and reality is determined only through a
      relationship, only through an interaction.
It is only someone or something wants, desires, needs it or otherwise
interacts or is affected by it… ...the things appear to have meaning,
      reality and existence.
That which doesn’t interact with yours senses, appears non-existent to
      you.
That which doesn’t interact with the scientific instruments, can’t be
measured and is thus is scientifically declared non-existent.
Millions of neutrinos are said to pass through your body every minute.
Yet, they seem to have no meaning, relevance or reality to you because
your senses don’t interact with them in any way.
Pure empty space which makes up about 99.99% of your own body and
everything outside it, seems to have no reality to you because your
senses don’t seems to interact with any way and because it doesn’t
      appear to “matter” to you.

To all who are familiar with Christianity. It is important to know that, prior to the 13th century, another form of Christianity, with striking parallels to Buddhism, was widespread in Europe, particularly in southern France. These Gnostic Christians, also known as the Carthars, believed in reincarnation, and that the repeated cycles of rebirth was a state of suffering that one should strive to escape from. They also considered that the way to salvation was not by blind faith, but by spiritual development and by knowing (hence the term "gnostic"). They considered themselves good Christians.
The tragedy is that this form of Christianity was effectively wiped out by the Church, in the 13th century, through the disgraceful Albigensian Crusade. It was the first ever recorded genocide in history. The Cathars were massacred without mercy, and it was this atrocious historical act of violence that left the other form of Christianity as the dominant one in Europe.

You shouldn't use words like Genocide. United Nation may object; as it considers that only one genocide occurred in history.... the holocaust. All else were ethnic and religion massacres ;)
      Bogomils were also Gnostic Christians!

In buddhism there isn't reincarnation but rebirth which is the opposite of reincarnation. Reincarnation suppose the soul or something permanent. In buddhism nothing, apart from Nibbana or Nirvana, is permanent.

    • @kennethchan907
      @kennethchan907 9 лет назад +4

rica gia Rebirth is NOT the opposite of reincarnation. Buddhism does not posit any permanent inherently-existing entity like the "soul" because of the teaching of emptiness. It is understood in Buddhism that "all things, including the self, are empty of inherent existence." This, however, does NOT mean nonexistence. It requires considerable explanation and considerable effort to understand correctly this deep philosophical and spiritual teaching.

    • @nerinamia1969

Kenneth Chan ANICCA, ANATTA, DUKKA. Impermanence, non Self, Sorrow. So there is not ANIMA, soul or something like that. This is the buddhist doctrine and it is the result of my experience. In tibetan buddhism tulkus use the word reincarnation with the meaning og rebirthing.Every single instant of life there is a flux of death and rebirth but what rebirth have a cause but is not the same thing of what have dead.In reincarnation something lasts constantly same and rebirth at any rebirthing. Buddha said only the nirvana is permanent because nirvana is the end of ANICCA, ANATTA, DUKKA.

    • @kennethchan907
      @kennethchan907 9 лет назад

rica gia Actually we broadly agree. It's only a matter of semantics. What I could not understand, however, was why you said rebirth is the opposite of reincarnation. To me, it is the same process; the only difference is whether one understands it correctly or not.

Buddhism is not a religion it is path towards understanding universe. It is base on cause and effect theory. Accordingly effects exist because of causes. When you understand causes for suffering like lust, greed and cravings towards things and replace with love and compassion ultimately you receive happiness.

I've the privilege to be free and able to get to know a lot of religions, spiritually views and philosophies and a lot of syncretized beliefs, you name it. I've become what I am today through all those multifaceted perspectives and they surely made me a more understanding and tolerant person. I've grown up mostly in a Christian environment but my family always made abundantly clear that I should follow a path that makes sense to me and also makes me feel better. In the beginning, Buddhism made little sense to me, although it was always present in my life, being half Asian. But the older I became and dedicated myself to learn it, for the first time I was able to make amends with myself, my guilt issues - derived mainly from Judaic/Christian teachings and Kardecist principles. It's such a blessing to be really present and mindful and Buddhism taught me that, mostly relieving me from anxiety. It's not denying all the problems, but giving less power to dichotomies.

Real transformation and understanding comes from experience.
Important things to remember on the path to enlightenment....
    - Don't imitate or follow anyone. Be yourself. You don't need to shave your head or dress like the Buddha. You are not him and he's not you.
    - You must walk your own unique path.
    - Don't try to escape/hide from the world. The more you experience, the better.
    - You cannot become enlightened by reading books. Enlightenment is not like Math or Geography that you can learn by reading books or listening to others. Others can only point you in the right direction (if they have true wisdom)
    - Enlightenment is not about searching for truth....It is about removing the barriers/illusions which prevent you from seeing/understanding the truth.
-You don't necessarily have to sit in a lotus position in a quiet room in order to meditate.
You can be meditative anytime, anywhere, doing anything.

I encourage people to read a general unbiased book on Buddhist teachings if they really want to understand. this is just one particular way to interpret Buddhism, a way that emerged after Buddhism itself. It is a difficult path to take, but if you recognize your own suffering and inability to be in control of your own mind, meditation and Buddhist philosophy could enlighten you to the point that you can understand the very nature of your reality.

The arrival of Civil servants in Indian subcontinent for the administrative and bureaucratic surveillance under the East India Company in the late 18th and early 19th century paved the way for the due discovery of Buddhism. Great Western administrators and scholars like Sir Edwin Arnold, T W Rhys Davids, the Walcott couple and their pioneering work in Sri Lanka created a cultural transformation. Following them, great Sri Lankan revivalist Anagarika Dhammapala, and the greatest Indian Babasaheb Ambedkar reintroduced Buddhism in India. We must be honoured and grateful to the life-long intellectual and missionary activities of those illustrious Europeans. The flourishing of Western Buddhism as a distinct Buddhist culture is inspiring to all other branches of Buddhism in the world.
    A humble tribute from Bengal.
May the Buddha bless you all.

In fact, only certain religion's followers simply say lies and bad things about Buddhism. These people are already in hell now and that's why they need to believe in a God. They are ignorant and don't know their God is fake, as these evidence show:
21 irrefutable evidence that proved there may be no God in Christianity, don't miss the last paragraph that explain them all:
      1) Jesus similarities with Buddha. Maya to Mary, miracle pregnancy to virgin pregnancy, birth during a journey home to from home, prophesied soon after birth, both had a disciple who betrayed them, walked on water, Gautama left the palace at age 29 and Jesus appeared at 29, Gautama became Buddha at 35 and Jesus died and resurrected at around 35 too, after they passed away, 500 arahants witnessed compilation of Buddha's teachings and over 500 witnesses to Jesus's resurrection etc. All coincidental ? Beside Buddha, Jesus also copied from Horus and Mithra. Surely they ALL cannot be coincidental.
      2) Many of the Bible's mythologies was copied from older pagans, Greek, Egyptian or Hinduism religions(note the names too) E.g. Adam & Eve story similar to Atman and Jeewa, a pair of birds in Hinduism, big flood and survivor Noah/3 sons same as Manu/3 sons although cause of flood is different. Even the names of Abraham and wife/sister Sarah close to Brahma and Saraswathi beside having similar story. Regardless of which religion copied which, it proved this god is NOT the only true god or all mighty as it doesn't makes sense to create or allow more copies or religions.
      3) Why a true all mighty, all knowing and only god allowed their people to branch off and kill their parent religion Judaism ? This alone is enough proof that their God is non-existant. "Free will" as an excuse is not acceptable as earlier they claimed their God killed all people with a big flood(without freewill) because they sinned.
      4) The Bible condemned non-followers, clearly mentioned in Mark's words. Why should a Creator God's religion condemn non-believers when in the first place, they claimed their God created the world? Isn't this like playing both sides of the same coin, both good and evil ?
5)Not knowing why or how the world exists don't mean that it was created by a god. Now "Creator" got stale, they use "Intelligent Design" What is so intelligent in its design? If people don't need to go to toilet and don't have unpleasant feelings and sufferings, then I will call it an intelligent design.
6)Wisdom and meditation are not taught by them. Is it because they know meditation can make a person's mind clearer and wiser?
7)The Bible copied so much from older religions but why don't they copy the theory of karma too? Is it because karma debunk the idea of an all mighty God or is it because karma belief prevent people from doing bad deeds ?
      8) The way the church preached and claimed simply lacked substance and logic. If you ask them intelligent question, they will always be evasive and say you are not serious or an evil.
      9) It don't makes sense to claim that only their believers will go to heaven and others don't since they claimed their God created all people. Such claim is an insult to other religions and cultures and caused people to divide. A good religion should be secular and treat all people equally.
      10) The way they collect titlings during Sunday mass is so tricky. They know people will be shy not to pay or tend to pay more when others could be watching. This is why they don't just use a stationed money box like Buddhism, Hinduism or Chinese temples where people can donate anytime. Catholics and Islam made it even bigger by suggesting donation of a certain percentage of their income.
11)Most major festivals and holidays related to Christianity and Jesus, including Christmas(Jesus can't be born in winter), Easter, Thanksgiving, Good Friday, All Souls, Halloween and even New Year are copied from paganism which existed long before Judaism. They are similar both in dates and traditions, surely it can't be that coincidental.
      12) A true creator god should be the first and only religion. All the pagans, Greek, Chinese, Hinduism religions existed before Abrahamic religions. It proved Judaism is not the first religion but they copied other religions' gods, mythologies and ideas to create their 1 only god concept.
      13) Using fear: the afterlife or after death, hell or "end of the world" predictions every 2 years are common tricks too.
      14) Behavior of their leaders: The case of Mother Teresa and Pope Francis. Catholics used Teresa and made so much money from the Indians but after her death, those money are not returned to the Indians who are poorer than the Vatican. The latest encounter between Dalai Lama and Pope Francis further proved Christianity is more interested with their income instead of world peace. When the Dalai Lama was in Italy and wanted to meet him, Francis turned down because he is afraid of losing income from China. Later, the Pope can travel all the way to Thailand and Japan to hold Catholics events.
      15) The way the church used tricks like programs and events to attract the kids and lonely middle-aged people in Asia. Why must they use such tricks ?(this may not be in Western countries).
      16) Missionaries only approach those who are alone and not those in a group because loners are always better target in any scam or bad business. If their God is all-mighty, why need missionaries to proselytize?
      17) The ongoing child sex abuses committed by the pastors/priests that I read so often. They must have know that their God don't exist.
      18) The Bible is full of lust(Sodomon's part), evil and violence. Their God killed countless people when Satan only killed a few. What's the idea behind it if not playing both sides of the same coin?
      19) The Bible condemned dogs because they know dogs are man's best friend. Making men lonely is the best way to keep them dependant on religion. Otherwise I can't think of any other possible reason why the Bible must condemn dogs.
      20) If God created everybody, then homosexuals are God's creation too. Why then condemn homosexuality ?
      21) Incidents, eg: (a) U.S., Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico are all high Christianity populated countries and more people died from Covid-19 (b) The Air Asia plane crash of 2014 when 41 church members, 2 missionaries and their few month old baby all died on their way for a Christianity event from Surabaya to Singapore.
Could all these 21 points above be coincidental ? Certainly not.
Only 1 reason can tie up all 21 points above, that is this God was man-made to con, control or conquer others and gullible people are being victimised. Now, for the sake of world peace, please share and help to make people less ignorant to religions.

BUDDHAM SHARNAM GACHHAAMI...means taking refuge in the buddha, i.e., the one who knows, the one who is a witness to all our feelings and emotions, often termed as super consciousness, which is beyond happiness and suffering.
lord buddha wanted us to not believe blindly what he taught, but to contemplate and see if it holds true for us by our own experience, seeing logic behind every thing and not being superstitious. once we see the truth of his teachings by practically experiencing it, that leads to unshakable faith and dissolves all the doubts because we have experienced the truth practically by our own efforts and not because someone told us to have faith based on superstition.

I can only tell you what has not worked for me, and why. It is up to each in discovering exactly whom and what they are, and what they choose to follow, believe, or dedicate themselves to. So long as your chosen beliefs don't tread upon Me, or my freedom to pursue mine own Liberation, (salvation) I have no complaint. To each their own.

I would like to share something about my beautiful country Japan. I do not know much about Tibetan Buddhism but people in Japan, how we practice respect and kindness(compassion is Buddism teachings) to others are quite different than in the west country.
Frist, when we hear others sharing their belief, we do not call what their belief is evil... nor argue to prove how wrong they are...I was born and raised in Japan, lived for 27 years, I never seen people argue over religion at school or work. We aware that that is something we should not cross the line but show respect.
My children are solid Christians and I am very happy to see that they have faith in God. I like Bible, in fact, I practiced Christianity for 30 years and did missionary work as well. I like Chruch where provide many opportunities to serve others( include Scout program)...that is something Buddism community does not have.
I would like to share this story...One day one of my sons, he learned about Buddism in the wrong way at church and it caused for confliction. He demanded me to throw my little Buddha figure away. A member of his church came to my house and asked to not decorate the figure for my son's sake as well. And it was overwhelming and my heart was saddened. This is my house who to tell me what I can decorate or not.
I shared my son and a member of the church, 3 things. 1. Never quick to judge but take efforts to understand others. How they were raised etc. 2. If they do not agree, it is a great opportunity to practice unconditional love and accept who they are. 3. Put their feet in my shoes which means if I were them I would never ask people to take down the decoration that reminds them to feel close to God. To me Buddah is Love, Light and Serenity.
I hope more Christian try to understand what Buddism teaching is. It is compassion, just like Charity in the bible. One of my favorite scripture is 1Corinthian 13:1. If we really want to help others to come close to God, you have to be an example of Love, we have to watch what we say, how we say it and the most improtantly, we have to speak with Love.

"The mind doesn't come from mom and dad," fair enough. But the influence of the nurturing and care, or neglect, or abuse from our parents on on our entire life, worldview, sense of self, relationships with others, and so on, is in fact inestimably important, as thousands of studies have proven over the past hundred years. Even the Dalai Lama would not deny the tremendous impact of parents on our lives. Therefore, this Venerable Lady's teachings are simply erroneous, or at best fragmented.

    Richard Gere is gorgeous.
    That is why I'm Buddhist.
I might have a chance with him.

I began chanting the day I turned 26, so about a year ago. The difference between me before and after chanting was that the “obstacles” suddenly did not trouble me and take away my peace as before. Chanting has been (and is) healing for me.

Why call another person stupid? I have compassion for you both and pray that you both find it in your hearts and minds to see eachother as the brothers you are and live in this world like brothers. That is how we all should live, like brothers and sisters. Having compassion for all and hate for none.
