  • Hello there!
Join me on a trip to Switserland in my Skoda Citigo from 2019.
We sold our Mercedes E-class and bought this Skoda Citigo instead. After more than a year of owning the car, I'm happy to share my experiences about it.
    Greetings, Gerard

I have one, also 60 hp. I have no trouble cruising at 70mph/3000 revs. Luggage space is huge with the false floor and seats down. Fuel economy excellent.

I like your enthousiasm about small cars. It's back to basics and to what it is all about, namely getting somewhere. How about the seats? Not so good after sevetal hours? I had this problem in my Corsa C. In my Astra G this problem was over and so it is in my FordFusion. That's why I prefer a car that is a tiny bit bigget than the A-segment. What is your vision on seats in more modern cars than I had?

Exactly. Back to the essence. I even bought a roofbox but didn’t need it yet. My wife preferred the seats from the E-class, but they didn’t suit my back. It’s a very personal thing, but I prefer these. They are much simpler but really quite good.

As an Englishman let me say your language was excellent. I live in London and my High Up (75bhp) is more than suitable for 95% of real life driving and I’m also 6’3" so not exactly short. Great video, makes me want to road trip down to Lake Como again taking in the Alps en route.

I have 2013 60hp ASG Elegance 3dr, and i love it. The quality and feel. Came from an Aygo, and thats not a car compared to the Citigo.

Nice quiet engine! Because this car is related to the Seat Mi, and the Volkswagen Up, I wonder if the seats are more comfortable in those, for long journeys!

They are the same. Even in the Up GTI. But I would like to emphasize that for me, the seats are not all that bad.

I drove a 2010 Hyundai i10 to the Nürburgring at the end of May and whilst i was on the autobahn there was an unhealthy amount of windnoise on the inside. Its a good car for camping due to a lack of electronics so you wont be stranded with a flat battery and on the way back home i decided to try and break the top speed record of this i10, i decided to back out after reaching 150kph as that was the stated top speed of the car, i couldve gone faster but didnt know what speed the tires were rated for and i valued my life more than that record.

I had one as a courtesy car when someone crashed into my car. It's such a giggle to drive and so chuckable. I did, however, find the seats completely unacceptable on long journeys.

Golf 1 had a fairly large trunk. Though the acces to the trunk wasn't ideal. It could also pull a trailer which the Up/citigo can't.
And it could run on salad oil:) But not many people will use that:)

True! I missed that one in the video and in the car: the Mii, Up, Citigo can’t pull a trailer. What you can do however is put a 50 kg roofbox on them.

@@carsandminds3979 It's too bad VAG doesn't want to give people too much. They want people to buy the Polo or Golf.
Whereas other brands give more on their small cars. The Panda can have 4x4 and pull a trailer.
Citigo still seems a very nice car. And it's good for lpg. And VAG ergonomics are the best for Europeans.

Very uncomfortable to drive suspension is far to soft my advice keep clear these cars 🚘 I had one for 3 and half years and don’t believe there bullshite these owners that have them. I have driven cars vans Lorrie’s and one the worst drive ever and don’t go over 40mph with them when you have a 4x4 up your arse let the 4x4 over take our you will put the car on its roof they all belong in the scrap yard think Volkswagen know that. That’s why they probably stopped making them

Hi, mr Iian, of course everybody is entitled to their own opinion, I don't understand exactly what you mean, but I like the 'old fashioned' softer suspension.

@@carsandminds3979 remember this you have to drive something before you understand something. I just didn’t think the Skoda Citigo was the car that Volkswagen said it was.
