As per one of your earlier videos and my personal experience, Sudalai maada Samy used to set and live on palm trees in villages. In some areas, people misunderstand it as some Muni and worship as with some name under a palm tree. Here in avudayaarkoil, sudalai madasamy rested on kurundhai palm tree. Manickavasar misunderstood Him for Lord Shiva and constructed a temple without lingam, devi , pillayaar, murugan and nandhi, etc. It is my view, belonging to Aranthangi taluk.
Noted madam, considerable perspective
Kurunthai is not palm tree. Kurunthai is wild orange tree. Grows like lemon tree. First check the facts then post comment. The main deity shiva is in the form of soul.soul cannot be seen by naked eyes. To replicate the concept of this self realisation of soul manikkavasakar didn't install a lingam. Shiva present here in formless one. You can feel his presence. Otherwise saying manikkavasakar misunderstood is the ultimate foolish thought. Read his thiruvasakam to find his misunderstanding 😂
@bavichandranbalakrishanan In my village in Arantangi taluk, there were lot of Kurunthai panai maram with large and heavy trunk where ghost or muni or sudalai maadasamy said to live and worshiped by saambaans ( SCs). My earlier comment was on assumption only and not to hurt any intelligent idiot. I visited avudayar koil many times but didn't see any tree there as you said.
