While watching, I was thinking what the burl would look like with the bowl turned on the opposite side.. you've got another half. What say you?

I have a couple in storage that I need to look at. What might be cool would be to turn from the cut side and stop hollowing once holes appear where the indentations are. I will have to think on how to pull that off.

I thought a pendulum clock would have been good too.

At first look I didn't think there was much you could do and maintain the broccoli appearance. I think you managed it though. It really is a beautiful burl. Your idea of only finishing the turned bowl cavity was right on. I have a small piece that I have been contemplating what to do with for about four years now. Thank you for sharing. Have a great new year and stay safe. Also keep Brian out of the line of fire.🙂🙂You have entertained and educated me and others for many years. I am looking forward to the same for many more. ❤❤❤❤

Mallee burl is always beautiful. And great job on the turning. Hate to say it, but I probably would have just hung it without turning it. And I love turning!!! Actually, good either way. Or even if you had turned the bowl on the other side and formed a dipper. So many opportunities and choices.

Looks great, Tim. That was a really neat idea. Ben from Ben's Worx on RUclips uses a lot of mallee burl on his projects. Of course, he's in Australia.
