Forget what you were taught about using clevises. Under no circumstance should you ever back the pin off 1/4 or 1/2 turn, you are correct they don't need to be wrenched tight but they do need to be completely engaged and fully seated. On another note that's an awesome truck, you don't see many of em around anymore. Stay safe out there.
I love watching your videos when you have the camera set up in your cab facing out the windshield its almost relaxing watching the miles go by. Keep up the great work. And keep on trucking
I was told when tightening any thread that doesn’t need to stay tight ( plumbing for eg ) always turn back a half turn to avoid possible seizing. Such a simple thing to do but I always thought it was good advice. I really like your videos as you are meticulous in explaining exactly why you do something. I used to find years ago when I was starting off that I’d learn easier and quicker working under people who had that skill and ability. I guess I can still learn many years later. Thanks
That’s some pretty awesome old iron! I developed a soft spot for the old 352 cabovers when my dad drove them for the local fuel company. You don’t see many 362’s running around anymore, let alone the 352’s! Keep on truckin!
6:30 I always keep the bucket close to the deck when it's about to tip, then once it starts tipping the bucket eases down onto the deck. Raising the bucket will ease the tracks down onto the platform.
High vis orange duck tape is sold at Walmart, it works great to highlight the tracks(no damage). It stands out fantastic, flags make you legal tape makes them visible. Just a couple 5-6 inch strips front and rear.
Great video. Great editing. Lotsa work involved. Always happy to see other drivers in cabovers. Don't worry about tieing onto the tracks. Way better chain angle that way. I've got some load securment videos on my channel. (D10 cat being the biggest I've done). The best way to protect your trailer deck is to load the machine yourself. (In time, I understand.)

Do you measure from the trailer to top of load to see if you can fit under bridges? Or you just know from experience? And have you ever driven one of those things before you backed it up or just learned. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome Cab over! You said the truck is a 1985? It’s about a year younger than I am I am an 86 model! Where did you get the truck? Are you the second or third owner?
Hey brother if you ever come though Detroit Michigan hit me up I'm owner of a semi truck Walsh and polishing shop as well would be happy to hook that badd ass cabover up she's got a lot of potential buddy I'll do it for nothing for a fellow trucker. Much love and respect to you brother.
FSC Speed Shop: How is the "loading and unloading" risk handled? Some videos customer or shipper loads, sometimes you load. If cargo damaged, during loading-unloading, who pays? Thanks. (Retired Risk Manager)
If you are injured or killed unloading at the Port of Baltimore, where you are forced to, they tell you to have a nice day and die in a hole... legally.
First up is repairing the remaining deer damage. After that its fixing the minor crop and getting her looking good again. But don't worry, very soon I'll be working on the '79 Pete 352 getting her roadworthy again.
Not to be critical but if thats YOUR excaVator. you do not want to load like that coming on the trailer. Please consider getting some old mudflaps and some wood blocks short to put under the mudflaps to walk the machine on...what happens with the up in the air falling down will smoke some machine track rollers and in the rain, maybe slip the machine off the side. You never want to worry about tracks that high off the trailer by changing the angle of ramp the machine walks up. NObody knows it all and theres always room to improve especially with equipment i did notice your on the safe side which is good. You need to come out west and check out these trailers call Cozad. You will lose your mind at the weight a tandem trailer will haul and buy one on the spot if you see a machine twice as heavy as that one on one. Sorry about my ignorance I just saw it’s an 84 model sorry about that! Anyway awesome truck!
Probably need a 3axle trailer for that load!!!
That's only 29 tons , we haul 48 - 50 tons on two axle dump trailers , and 58 - 60 on three axle here in coal fields southwest VA.
You should invest in a high quality aftermarket seat with a massager, heat, and ventilated. Your body will thank you.
How much weight can you carry on that stretch trailer an how long is the well close up
you missed putting chains over the front and back of tracks and or you could hsve put a binder on eack end of track 4 chains and binders dont cut it
60k in chains is plenty for a 58k unit.
I see someone was in peach tree city did you get a chance to see the transformer they have inside?

You should do some jake brake videos
Can i ask Sir, how much average HP in Amerika? Example: in Indonesia average is 220-260hp
About 350 to 600 HP
Heavy duty 5/16th chains right there😁
