Despite the minor problems with your Pete, I would gladly take it over any of those other trucks at that repair shop. The sound, the power, the smell of diesel and the look of the classics cannot be beat. Your videos don't just show the glamorous side of trucking but the trials and tribulations of the trade as well. Thanks for sharing!
Dude, that was a very informative and well-developed video. Appreciate how you set up each scene with camera placement and intelligent narration. Great Video!
It's amazing how just those two lumps of metal can take the weight of whatever is on the trailer.!😲!. And the airbags which have to do the same.!😲😲!. LOVE THE VIDEOS🥰. KEEP 'em COMING🥰🥰. RICH (UK) 🥰🥰🥰.
It's been a while since I had a call out on an old truck, they only have about five wires but they leave the modern tech with a laptop in one hand & scratching his head with the other! ;-)
Ya man keep the Truck content coming. Don't be afraid to put the camera passenger side view of just eating miles. Peeps dig it if you say "Driving from wherever to wherever" and watch it. Insomniacs or busted up physical wreck, gray hairs like me put that stuff on all the time. Makes people feel like they're on a road trip and nod off to it lol
Haha I just had my 359A towed two weeks ago! Such a bummer feeling when you gotta make the wrecker call but you got a new subscriber out of it. 👍 Hope to see more coming out but don't rush extra time makes the better video, good luck bud!
I would relocate that dump valve! If not in the cab, somewhere between the headache rack and front of fifth wheel. Would hate to see a big guy like you get pinched if something went wrong lol Good Video!
Take it from an old driver. I experienced the same thing. I ended up replacing the whole wiring harness and the relays. Not cheap, but solved the problem.
I would prefer to shift for myself, but they are really changing over with the new trucks. I wasn't as confident in close spaces and touchy situations with the auto-shoft.
Sorry about all the bad luck you had on this trip. I have been the there more times than I care to remember. I had too bear it all on my own. I'm glad you have the channel to help out. I watched everyone of the ads and even clicked the like button. I hope that helped out. I hope you get a real super good load on next that makes up for most of it. Don't hurt near as bad when it goes away fast!Still a great video.😎🇺🇸
Man u got a steal of a deal on that tow job, in N.J. it would have been an easy $750.00 that's why your gotta keep crackers & P.J. in an emergency pouch, sardines & protein bars, water ECT. Just for times like this 10-4
Don't be embarrassed, we Love all the Truth you show us about trucking, the good & the Bad brother, keep up the good work until u just say it just is a loosing battle, all overhead cost outpace the income & u can't make a profit which defeats the purpose of being in your own business, until than Keep Trucking Brother
Speaking from the Fleet Ops mechanic side You would normally not see many Autos in a small company but with so many young cowboys out there you could just imagine the carnage & destruction of a large fleet of locally driven hourly wage earners of Non professional race car drivers cowboys & your everyday show off who figured out you can actually lift the steer wheels off the ground just like on street outlaws with a manual transmission ...so Yeppp...I'm.glad all they have is Automatics leave the road rangers to actual professionals ..
Hey young fella maybe it's time to invest in one of those new fangle small engine driven or wetline driven hydraulic units that do all that at the push of a button more less ..I meant to ask you with nobody in sight why do you have that white nasty scrotum on your face ...is they got something in the air you wanna share with your subscribers ? Or you just liked the way that cup feels.rubbing on your chin ?
True for over the road trucking, but that's a 6x6 , probably operates mainly offroad. Usually when you drive in deep sand/mud you can't shift a 13 speed at all because as soon as you take it out of gear you're stopped again.
The company I work for recently got rid of a truck I was driving which was a 10 speed and put me in a auto not ecstatic about it but around town it is kind of nice other than that I’d rather have my 10 speed
Loved the video w/ the explanations on how things work brotha! & btw I was just up in west bend, WI like 1 1/2 month ago! Damn. had to sub you're my new Favorite. Keep on Keeping on! Gravel train drivers from MI.
I'd be getting into that wiring, and putting all the ESSENTIAL electrical circuits, like the fuel pump, side lights, and ciggy lighter socket or whatever socket you use to charge your phone up(as the phone as well as the fuel pump is vital) etc, into either a NEW circuit breaker box, fed STRAIGHT from the battery, or, just one of them in-line fuses, just for the fuel system. LOVE THE VIDEOS🥰. KEEP 'em COMING🥰🥰. RICH (UK) 🥰🥰🥰.
it's 'portaage' - from the French language...to 'port (something)'... heard and acquiesced to FSC's like & subscribe...could feel the pain in his soul...the tow & repair bill...i'm guess the tow bill was at least $200. oop, that's one hefty combined tow-bill! from what he's described so far, it's a bad solenoid. corroded...
Is this a trailer you own or just using. The company I work for has two oshkosh trucks like that but with Eaton fuller tens in them. Rough riding but they go pretty much anywhere. Love the content
Good stuff! Wiring...well, did they get it fixed the second time?!? That was a bear! Hope it was the wiring...you didn’t really say what the final prob(s) was. Thanks for showing the trailer drop process! That was new to me. Hey, do you know the old trucker wallet process...Take your wallet out when you’re driving, for it will save you some back pain. What did they charge you for the final service bill on the Pete? Load delivered! Oh, yeah! That Oshkosh truck was interesting! Oh, cabovers still rule! 🥰 Looking forward to the Cat video! 🧐
I didn't want to bury the dealer too bad. But it took the 4th time to fix it. They cut me a break price wise though. I decided against putting my rant in the video. As for the wallet I heard that long ago.
FSC Speed Shop 🇺🇸Sorry to hear that it took 4 times! Whew! Was it a harness/connector or combination of things? I had a C800 Ford that had the same issue and it was a gas engine. The connector was located right behind the grille and it pulled loose after some time. One of those things you have to deal wit when on the road, huh? That wallet thing has really helped me over the years, even when driving a car. Just have to make sure that I don’t leave my wallet behind when I walk away. My chiropractor liked my story about it. Stay safe, my friend. Porter Dude of Ohio!
You didn't show it in the video but I'll assume that the operator disconnected the driveshaft before towing? Also, a nice job by the operator backing up your rig considering that there are two pivot points!
We did not drop the driveline as we literally towed it less than two miles. Had it not been foggy and the Peterbilt sign been lit i would have seen it from where I was.
I was on 80 in pensulvania goin east it got dark back in the day an alt went out had construction drove awhile in dark no lites on between to other semi to get to the ta an got alt an batterys charge up it was a 86 kw
running that style of low loader looks like a pain constantly pulling the king pin. how come you don't run a hydraulic goose neck with a 24 volt power pack run off the truck with an anderson lead? which here in the UK and europe is very common. nice to see another vid of the old girl shame about the 2 break downs but that happens to much younger trucks to. look forward to seeing the next one.
I don't own the trailer. We run these RGN (Removable Goose Neck) and step deck. Also most of what we do are long haul so we don't break the trailers much more than a couple times each week.
I have a lot of 362 cabovers clean the contacts on your circuit breakers they get hot then cold and expand pull all out and clean with emory or reg sand paper ! you also will have less smells in your cab funny but true contact burning !
Great video but I don't think I would care for that style of drop neck... I had the engine for the neck in the bed of the trailer between the rear axles and that was nice and clean and never failed me... not liking the double hitch idea for me as getting down to the ground has always been a problem for me being all crippled up, thank you uncle sam. I just made it as easy as I could. I don't like the power being able to just shut you down like that all that much as electrical problems are the worst to track down at times... miles of wire and only a few things for it to do but that is just the way trucks are. Behind that dash and to the batteries is enough wire for flying a plane almost... I do joke, you can't even go to manual and fire it back up to get off the road should it happen in a intersection. Bummer trip, I hope fixed now. I really would not want to rewire one of those. Thirty six years have gone by and so many repairs over time must mean a lot of wiring.... great video as I said before, I hope I don't come off negative as not intended..
She's running great now. If I was closer to home this would have worked out different. But as always adversity shows up. It's all in how we deal with it.
You need to put some ramps on the old Pete. And make the dump valve to operate from the dash. But great video. Very interesting. I know what it is like to run an old truck. You have to be a good mechanic and be inventive sometimes.
not nearly as embarrassing as having to watch them remove a front bumper to tow your vehicle thank freightliner, how many f bombs did you drop the second time
I don't know much about trailers but is there an easier way to load and unload it seems doing that in the snow would be miserable. Oh what was wrong on second break down?

Yo My Brutha While I am a huge fan of the Cabover Kenny's and Pete's I'm a little curious as to why your doing the kind of hauling your doing with the limits of your kitty cat well defined ...it's sorta like hauling heavy with a single frame ...sure you can.probobly do it but why would you ? Especially over the hills you have to hump.

Best of all it ain't going to leave you stranded because of a sensor
8:30 that's some good backing skills, backing up a 120 ft double trailer combination in the dark in a parking lot
That's why we LOVE FSC videos he shows & tells it like it is.
Amazing journey and I didn't hear you cuss. Impressive.
I feel for you man. Breakdowns at night are a drag. Good channel. 😊
I had nothing for power. I couldn't wait for the wrecker to get there. I had my triangles out but was afraid I'd be hit even still.
Dude, that was a very informative and well-developed video. Appreciate how you set up each scene with camera placement and intelligent narration. Great Video!
You definitely earn your living! Kudos to all of you over the road drivers!
I have fallen in love with your cabover. Reminds me of my brother.
You’re brother is a truck
He must be Oriental. Haha, jk.
I love the cabover my dad had 3 cabovers. That's the way my family used to roll.
It's amazing how just those two lumps of metal can take the weight of whatever is on the trailer.!😲!.

That wrecker is a beast
Good truck
I have repaired more corroded wires now a days with the stuff they put on roads to clear ice it eats wiring.

Oh i have that mod planned sometime in the future. That location is a pain.
She's a trouper love that classic pete
Take it from an old driver. I experienced the same thing. I ended up replacing the whole wiring harness and the relays. Not cheap, but solved the problem.
Isn't always the way it happens one mile or less not good but hope things get better tks Dave
I have an automatic and this one's good actually. But Ive always had 13 and 18 spds and would happily go back
I would prefer to shift for myself, but they are really changing over with the new trucks. I wasn't as confident in close spaces and touchy situations with the auto-shoft.

Love cab over , I drove my first one on the late 80s was from blue bell Co. I think was a white ,
Theres not much I can say to make this less painful my friend. It is what it is. Try too enjoy the rest of your day. Great video 👍

yeah it's still reliable truck there's a lot of people out there brand new trucks and they're already sitting in the shop
U gotta bypass the problem by putting a jumper wire in till u get back to your shop & you can tear it apart & really find the problem, yeaaaaBaby
This video is so cool it reminds me of highway tru hell
I've been wondering the disconnect & reconnect of the goose neck, looking forward to the video.

Got to hand it to the recovery guys who put it all on the line like this. Also they couldn't jack the cab themselves?
And I thought we might see Ron Pratt in the tow vehicle.
Only 450, not bad. The company i used to work for chatged 500 just to start the truck pretty much. Greedy bastards
Sorry about your break down. I hate to see owner operators on the side of the road, I know the money comes out of your pocket.
