While the Hon’ble President of India is doing a traditional ‘Namasri’ to everyone, one French guest from their military, perhaps some Defence attaché from their embassy in New Delhi has just bowed his head instead of responding with a ‘namaste’. This is not proper and is a violation of the protocol.

May be not exactly a matter of official protocol as such. Nonetheless, when a Head of State is humbly saying a polite ‘’namaste’’, a foreign official obviously several rungs below in protocol should respond with similar respect. All the other French embassy officials offered a namaste. Even the French President emulated our President. I trust my view is now clear to you.

The president's body language is so unbecoming of a head of state. She is not making any eye contact when greeting Macron, in fact she is withdrawing and seems to be in a hurry to move avay and clearly looks out of place.

President Droupadi Murmu welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron at an at-home reception held at Rashtrpati Bhavan in celebration of the 75th Republic Day. Prime Miister Narendra Modi along with several other dignitaries, graced the event. Expressing his delight, French President Emmanuel Macron stated, "It is with immense pleasure that we are here to be part of such an important and unique day." President Murmu acknowledged the historic significance of the occasion, highlighting the rare occurrence of leaders from two countries being Chief Guests at each others national functions consecutively.
"This is a historic and memorable moment in many ways," said President Murmu. There can be no better symbol of the depth of our friendship and the strength of our partnership than 14 July 2023 and 26 January."
