Look, this is not how anchoring works, anchoring in itself means to navigate through topics and take the most out of the person being interviewed, and at core, you cant let politicians talk uninterruptedly, then it will just be a political statement, not a topic focused interview.
But yeah i agree that more nuanced questions should have been asked, considering that he was answering freely.

@@Adityashrotriya They are not politicians when they take high stages at the international level. They represent their country as a statement. This is not a political interview where an anchor attempts a coup on the panelists. Their views, however biased or partisan, must be listened to as it gives insight into their thinking & propaganda. Neither do I reco endless talks. Rules must be the same. You can't let Blinken talk for an hour but offer only 30 min to Lavrov.

Me, as non Indian, have a question. What neighbours have India today, which are wasn't India in history? Did today Indians have a chance to stop tearing up India on different Indian nationalities and countries regardless of religious affiliation? Or politically affiliations (pro-west vs. patriotic Indians)?
China, for example, solved all differences 1800 years ago and after that, they are monolithic NATION on ETHNIC level.
All other parts of the world (except China) are susceptible for destabilising by the Colective-West(lead by NATO, USA and UK) using the money, or catholic church or military threat.

As an Indian i feel shame to have been represented by someone who didn't even prepare or learn the basic agreements but talked in the language of modern media. When you see QUAD meeting being hosted by Samir, I wonder whether this debate with this anchor was knowingly put to show Russia in bad light and from the desperation, I also wonder whether it was even on the agenda or last gasp acceptance. But it's good that Russia got a platform to let go of their steam a bit and pointed to places where in future there can be agreements. But still it's amazing how in such a major debate in our biggest national dialogue, our host had this level of questioning ability. I guess our local media questions are forming a wrong architecture in these so called intellect minds.

Real question is: Why Russia didn't start SMO in Ukraine in 2015?

Successive American administrations understood that if NATO disappeared, so too would much of its influence in Europe. We, the Americans are in essence, like the Australians and Canadians, colonies. In the end lacking in the grounding of a deeply rooted history. All our culture and traditions derive from Western European sources. We are countries that never faced any credible threat of invasion. Our generation of leaders who remember WW2 were more circumspect in the exercise of American power. But as that generation receded, the subsequent political leadership had no understanding of the consequences of hubris.
"Brother against brother," a phrase used in histories of the American Civil War. It might well be used to describe the current Ukraine conflict, a trap set for Russia and Ukraine at the unification of Germany in 1990. The George H. W. Bush administration's greatest fear was that Chancellor of West Germany, Helmut Kohl would cut a deal with Micheal Gorbachev where Germany would unify outside of NATO rendering the alliance superfluous. Then Secretary of State James Baker negotiated with Gorbachev agreeing that, “there would be no extension of NATO’s jurisdiction for forces of NATO one inch to the east.” President Bush countermanded him with the statement “to hell with that.” The Warsaw pact dissolved and NATO, whose major purpose is in opposition to Russia moved steadily to the boarders of Russia. When NATO opened the door to Ukraine it meant that a major Russian Naval instillation would be inside a foreign alliances territory. They even invited Georgia, of all places. One both occasions conflicts ensued, people died. We spread our “freedom and democracy,” just like Iraq and Afghanistan, now ½ a million are already dead from this war.
Scholarly works such as Collapse by Vladislav M. Zubok and Not one inch by M.E. Sarotte tell a story quite different from the American media. We are not the the “good guys” we like to think we are, not by a long shot. You bet we provoked this war and you can bet the elites in Washington, just like with Iraq, could care less how many people die. These people mean nothing to them, nothing.
