yep but I don't have one and person who ran the 200' water line used one and I've had to put dirt in the trench after every rain do to all the settling! you cant pack a 2" trench
That's a very red soil and I'm surprised if its clay how well it is breaking up as you dig it out. I would have expected it to be much more blocky in it's structure.
letsdig18 how long did the whole ditch take? I just got a gig offer digging a 1000' foot ditch for the same purpose and I have no idea what to estimate...
Can I ask how long that took you? I'm needing to dig a 1300 foot trench through a lot of peat and clay to lay a new water line from a spring to our header tank.
If the ground isn't that level i tend to move the digger to the side with the blade facing down on the slope and then raise the blade to level yourself to dig the trench level as long as the ground isn't to hard for the mini .
He probably used the blade on the ex to push the dirt back in. I've seen that done on other videos. He'll use the bucket to tamp down the soil and level out the area.
We don't bury to many power lines up here, due to the ground freezes deep and stays that way. The frost will break most things in the ground. Some rich people will want it done up here, as so there land has a cleaner look, as to not distract from their luxury homes.
I need to trench about 250’ to run water main. Was think about renting a trencher from sunbelt rentals. But I’m thinking about a mini since I will be running into roots and rock. Please advise
Nice flat ground. A ditch witch would be great here. But I've always done trenches with excavators. Never used a trencher in my life. Also, if you're installing multiple services, you need a wider bottom to separate the services.

Adding Value everyday it seems there, I guess your planning on living there full time early this fall. Nice Vids.
Nosir, that's pure red clay dirt, very normal in AL, GA, N.C., S.C., FL and the south as a whole. The color you're seeing is the correct color :)
Great job, you are a skilled operator.
Used to do the same stuff for a year with 1.7t new holland :) Trenches for few Finnish tele operator's. Pipelines for copper and/or optic cables.
all I had to do was dig the trench, they ran the wire, set the transformer and light pole free of charge.

That little thing is pretty useful!!!
UnitCrane514 That's what he said.
You must like them because you keep watching them.
how to use mini trencher

Didn't think about that very true I have to run a 250' trench for power to the shop so good to know

how did you do the back fill?

Nice efficient work, not a wasted movement.

those takiuchi's are good little machines. I maintain a fleet of 8 tb016's at work
I've had a couple of 'special' machines too, I feel your pain. I got real good at dog leggin' it. B-)
How do you get a clean trench like that? I'm still an amateur but I just can't find the right movements to clean out a ditch like that.
Just feel it brother be one with your machine
Do you still have the Takeuchi?
It may be small, but it beats the Pine Backhoe.
I like the part where he scoops out the dirt.
Legit
Some how you paid for the pole and transformer in the end.... LoL
You prefer the Takeuchi over the yanmar or vice versa?
you wanna use my tb016? or my special addition bobcat 334? its special cause its on one track and no sprocket or rollers on the other side.
That’s easy that shit is so soft no buildings over head lines or utilities to cross with my eyes closed
How long did it take u to dig it

How deep and how long did it take you to trench that?
Back to the old fashioned 2-60 air conditioning I see...
Blade should always be to the back
Um on my kubota blade up front over the idlers digging.
hey ur really good at the excavators, haha im a loader guy that wants to run excavators haha
is there something wrong with the colour?
good work man , very pro ...
color of what?
wouldn't a ditch witch be quicker just sayin
A trencher is so much quicker.
