Right?! I like them so much better than what my friends listen to these days tbh, idk what's up with the hype in my generation,pardon my French, around g-eazy, fetty wap, frank ocean, drake, they're all fucking shit and lame compared to this awesome band!
+katwaybish Andy gets alot of shit from people because they think that he is a horrible vocalist with no talent so unfairly the entire band gets shit on because of they can't look past their opinion on the vocals and actually enjoy the music.
(I personally disagree with the fact that Andy is a bad vocalist he is fairly talented, But in my opinion his voice fits his solo record a little better but he is still a great singer for bvb)
Berri Gaming I think Andy is an amazing vocalist, I do admit I like his clean vocals better but thats not because his screaming is lacking in any way, I just think he has an amazing singing voice. Black Veil Brides wouldn't be the same band with anybody but Andy as their singer.
I'll admit I don't like Andy's voice very much, it's just not my cup of tea, but I love playing some of their songs on guitar, because a lot of the guitar work is killer.
Alot of it is also the image the band had starting out. Everyone still labels them as an emo band, which they never meant to be. They meant to be a rock and roll band. I do understand how they got that with We Stitch These Wounds and even slightly with Set The World On Fire. Beyond that in no way are they an emo band.
Andy's teen angst is gone and his lyrics have significantly changed. Its gone from being about stabbing the same dull knife to justify pride in Knives and Pens to feeling alive inside in Heart Of Fire. People are just stuck in the past of who they used to be that they won't acknowledge that BVB has grown into the band they are now.
I admittedly dont listen to WSTW too much. I dont care for the music from back then as much. But STWOF through today with their teaser of My Vow I listen to non-stop
I genuinely feel bad for Jake.
He has this channel so he can show off gear, and do other music related content whether it's guitar or production. (Which I appreciate, as I myself am a HUGE gear nerd and audio engineer)
But all of the comments he gets on his videos are unbelievably cringeworthy scene kids bitching about how he doesn't use makeup anymore or how Andy doesn't have long hair.
I think he knows and he's okey with it. Hopefully some of his fans will grow up and appreciate his other projects. Am not a fan of BVB due to the fact that am too old and they hit pretty late to the scene, if they could hit in the early 00's like MCR or The used, taking back Sunday, Thursday. It could have been a different story. Their music is pretty good but it lacks that subtle maturity and that raspy voice of the lead singer sounds very unnatural and too dull. But that's just my opinion.
I see not even one person complaining about his lack of make up or Andy's hair, maybe you just looked really hard into the comments watcha talking about

Coming from a guitarist who feels the same way, He is insanely talented, it makes me mad when they say BVB has no talent, because this guy shreds circles around most guitar players nowadays, he has good sense of melody, harmony, and clearly knows his shit when it comes to theory, so he has nothing to prove when it comes to his skill.
Black veil brides like truly helped me stay strong through the bad times, and were even helpful through the good ones. The band really helped me and still does help me with depression and suicidal feelings. I thank black veil brides with all my heart and soul. The song Carolyn especially makes me feel better. And jake sorry about your mom

Black Veil Brides, Falling In Reverse, Shinedown, Nickelback. the bands help me ALOT when I think suicidal things.they also help me when I just feel like I'm worthless. the band's make me feel like I'm somebody and not a nobody. they make me feel important and loved instead of worthless and alone.
I may not be all for bvb's new stuff, but your playing grows and advances each time I watch your videos. You've almost taken a more thrashy metal approach to all your songs and it's awesome man! I have been a die hard fan of your playing for years!

Almost 7 years later after this video came out and I'm still not able to play this song. BVBIV really inspired me on the guitar. Which didn't come out too long before I got my first guitar. Love you, Jake. Been listening to you for the past 10 years.

hey,I know you get this a lot but I just wanted to say thank you so much to black veil brides. Your lyrics are so inspiring and helped me though so may bad times I cant count them all. I lost track at 60 haha. Anyway, thank you guys so much for believing in yourselves enough to get were you are today. I know Black Veil Brides will become the best band in the world! Before I found BVB and the BVB army I used to self harm every day. I am now 18 weeks clean!! I also want to thank the whole of the BVB army and supporting BVB no matter what and for helping me. Jake is very talented I love hearing how much he improves on every album, To me I really appreciate how he puts up his how to videos, Most famous guitarist don't take the time to do this and it just shows you how much he loves his fans, I will always be a big fan of black veil brides. Great job to Jake and keep pushing the limits on your playing ability, your videos have really helped me out a lot and I greatly appreciate it.

Truly a talented guitarist. As I am a guitarist I look up to Jake heaps. I also like BVB honestly I don’t know why people seem to bag them and think they suck they really have amazing talent. Just listen to Andy’s voice also he can actually sing like a MAN and Jakes guitar skills are absolutely mental. Also great tones and gear Jake! A true metal guitarist Imo.
