Aww thank you! And as far as heat, I did blow dry my hair a little and put the plats in my hair you see off camera. I think I mentioned that in the video, I just want to be transparent with all the steps I took to achieve this look! 🥰

Beautiful ❤… Just curious to why you don’t add mousse to your roots? Maybe that’s what I do wrong!
Thank You Shamika! 🥰 and I don’t mouse the roots because they will not be as smooth and it won’t give that polished look more stretched look. I’m sure mouse on the roots are fine for some textures or if you are going for the tight look throughout the style but “ion like dat” 😅
To add, 4c hair moves towards moisture. Our roots are usually the last portion of our hair to dry. Because of that, the hair will shrink and you will lose the length of the style.

What about when you shower? I tried the flex rods once, trying a heatless alternative method to curl my natural 4c hair. Took them out the next day, wrapped my hair in scarf and showered, only to get dressed removed the scarf to a frizzy semi curled afro😮. Any suggestions before I try it again?
Oh wow really! When I sleep I just put my hair in four “pineapple pigtails” and I wear a bonnet. When I shower I just put my shower cap on top of the bonnet that I slept in. My shower cap is thick though, 😭 with the stretchy elastic band around it like a bonnet not them clear ones lol! and my hair is usually good with that. Maybe try that, but in general I feel flexi rod sets last longer when the curls are tighter and on blown out hair. Sometimes I’ll use a flat iron and do like one pass. I like how that one came out too. I’ll have to do an updated video! 🥰 I hope this helps, lmk and thank you for watching 🫶🏾💕.

Quick question tho... Does it matter how many rods you use, or is there a specific number to use?
Heeey thank you so much!! 🥰💕and as far as the amount of rods you use, I think it just depends on your hair texture. If you have thinner hair, you prob won’t need as many rods etc.. Also it depends on how big you want your hair. If you want bigger hair, I would use less rods because the more rods you use the more defined it is and more tamed if that makes sense? Lol I hope I do 😅 Lastly it’s all trail and error. It took me a few times before I figured out the way I loved my flexi rod set to look and how big to make my sections. Definitely reference my video if you want it to look similar to mine but you know your hair best so keep that in mind as well. lmk how it comes out! Thank You for watching 🥰

How long after this style, do you wash your hair ?
I wash it like a week and a half after, with the foaming mousse being old in the hair.

If you sweat a lot with natural textured hair, it’s going to puff up, some more than others depending on the texture.
You washed your hair two days ago and put them in braids, your hair had leave in conditioner in right?
My Flexi rods didn't come out well, and I was wondering whether it's because it had leave in and oil in after I washed it a couple of days prior.
Hey there! And yes I used leave in conditioner. I always use it but I put a little oil on my scalp before I flexi rod. I put the plats in right after I blow dried my hair and had them in for 2 days before I did the flexi rod set. The plats aren’t necessary you can flexi rod right after you blow dry and it will still come out nice ☺️.

I used between 33-35 flexi rods ☺️

Did you stretch your hair before putting the rods in?
Yes I did blow dry it and leave it plats for 2 days so it is extra stretched. I thought I mentioned the blow drying part but I only mentioned having the plats in it looks like. I just changed to title to reflect that, sorry about that!!
I did it like this but the lotta body was a complete fail for my hair. Left it crunchy and a mess.
Hey Jaymi I’m sorry that the lotta body left your hair crunchy! 😫 Have you used other foaming mousse? Sometimes we have to use different products but the same method if you get what I’m saying? Or maybe not as much product depending on how much you used. I would try switching out the products to see if it comes out better. 💕 What is your texture like?

Hey girl! Thank you 🥰 and yes I blow dried it like a day or 2 before this and put it in plats. You don’t have to but I find that it come out more sleek when I let my hair sit for a day or two before doing the flexi rod set 😌

4c can look this straight blown out. I was able to learn how to make my coily hair more manageable 😊.
What about when you go to bed?
When I go to bed typically I just pineapple it with my silk scarf and then put a bonnet over it, but I will say that is probably not the best for making it last really long. When I put it in 4 even loose pineapple pig tails 2 in the front and 2 in the back it seems to last longer. I’m working on the best method for preserving this style, when I figure one out I will definitely post a video about it! ☺️
