Counting this as 123,123,12,12,12 can get confusing once the additional accents are added. What she is doing is doubling the count from 12 to 24. Then the first part (123,123) becomes 123456,123456, with the bass on the 1's, and the accented slap on the 4's. The second part (12,12,12) then becomes 1234,1234,1234, with the bass on the 1's and the accented slaps on the 34, 34 and 3. It takes some concentrating to see this, as her ghosting is so subtle. Hopefully counting it this way will help finding the feel of this great groove. Heidi, thank you for all of your videos. They really are a great learning tool.

I came back to practice to this! I like how the Open accent with your left ✋ helps to "humanize" the groove! When I feel like my Buleria is becoming stiff, I re-work on this! 🙏

search Paco de lucia bulerias to get some crazy but awesome bulerias songs!!! It might be a bit tricky for a beginner, but soon I will make a video of playing the bulerias along to one my band's own tracks and it should make it much easier to understand!

I never touched Cajon but walked into a store & totally fell in love! What an extraordinary instrument! It seems much of conga hand technique is applicable, with some obvious differences. Is this accurate or wrong thinking? I'm mainly a singer/song-writer writer now and see Cajon as offering mucho. Thank you SO much for your fantastic videos & inspiring gifts!

Yes thats right, except that the un is beat 12 not 11, there are 12 beats in the bulerias compas.... don't let this confuse you but in english you can count it 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-1-2-1-2 - main basic accents falling on all the 1's.. really doesnt matter what numbers you assign to the different beats, as long as you feel it and can learn to internalise it eventually. :-)

Los otros tutoriales dicen q el acento lo llevan los tiempos 3, 7,8,10 y12. En este video se hace un poco diferente, camviando el 7 por el seis. Es como una version light a mi parecer, pq el acento en el siete es lo q rompe el ritmo y le da mas alma al compas... Lo digo porqueveo que nadie lo hacomentado y me parecia importante. Saluditos!!
