Chinese traditional, or Ctrad, is a classic fan dance that originated in the Han Dynasty and remains a traditional Chinese folk dance. With synchronized movements, rhythms, and fan flips, the dance represents grace and beauty in its performance. Chinese modern is a group that revolves around the Chinese pop music of the present. Originating in Shanghai of the 1920s, both their music and choreography have set an inspiring standard for all brands of south-east Asian culture such as South Korea and Japan. Chinese music and dance represents the culture being its own form of music as it breaks free from societal norms and traditional views for Chinese men and women.
