- If I had to record a rock record using only one amp, it would be my 1966 JTM 45. Hands down!
Here I have a drum loop, playing via BFD2. I recorded and looped the bass part with my '78 P Bass. I cut three guitar takes. Two rhythm tracks, hard panned left and right. And the lead track.
Each track has 3 mics. An SM57 and a Royer R-122 up close. And the U87 about 7 feet back, in figure of 8 pattern. This mic runs through the Bricasti reverb, which is set 100% wet.
The lead is one take, I cut out the crappy parts. LOL
The guitar is my R7 goldtop loaded with Throbak SLE-101 pickups.
For rhythm parts I had the gain (VOLUME I) at 6. On the lead I turned it up to 9.
This is one of the best recorded JTM45 tones out there on RUclips.
I came here after listening to some guy demo a solid-state preamp into a digital IR, which sounded like a setup I imagine would be standard issue in hell for people who had previously experienced tone... This was healing. Thank you! LOL.
Great listening, the JTM sounds so crisp - loads of Fender attack with the Marshall growl and sag. Can't be beaten really👍
Wow ! I missed this one ! Holy G for sure !!
Marshall is the sound all of hear in our heads when we thiink of electric heavy rock. You can try to convince yourself otherwise but its true.
Didnt know a JTM had this much gain...amazing sound!
Rocked the Logo off that cab! That's what I call reverb.
nothing wrong with that! It sounds a heck of a lot lot like my '64 Fender Bassman (slightly modified)
I laughed out loud at the chassis balancing on top of the power station. Great playing, sick tone
I'm curious about that transformer. It looks like the ones I've seen in JTM100's. I thought they were double units stacked together yet this looks the same. What a sound!
The riff reminds me of 'Woman', one of my favorite James Gang songs. The lead is Walsh worthy as well.
Great playin George and amazing tones!!
That's the tone! Good job.
I love this amp! George... Any chance you'd build one for me? A GPM45 maybe?
MARSHALL MARSHALL MARSHALL MARSHALL !!!!!!!!!
Sounds Good, good Vid….
Lead is Great, didn't know you could solo like that
What Tubes?
Sounds awesome!
Very Nice! I dig it.
Amazing.
Sounds great
This amp sounds as big as the 45/100. Really fat sounding 45!
Now do it with the Super-Plex!
Is that box with the large silver thumb pad the reverb unit? Interesting that it's 100% wet and yet very unobtrusive and natural sounding.
