- Learn how to set up Wi-Fi connectivity on a GREE HVAC system using an iPhone and the GREE Plus app in this practical HVAC tech tip video. Daniel and JD guide you through the step-by-step process, demonstrating the setup using several types of remote controls. You'll find essential steps such as activating the Wi-Fi feature on the remote, connecting the indoor unit to the Wi-Fi network, and troubleshooting common issues such as resetting the Wi-Fi module and ensuring the correct network and password are used.
Ideal for contractors looking to help homeowners manage their HVAC settings remotely, this video ensures a smooth setup process for effective control via the GREE Plus app.
I have redone this process 30 times and it still says "try again". How does a company NOT have a consumer customer service dept?!?!?!?!?! I am about to throw these junk units in the trash and go buy Mr. Cool. At least they have customer service.
If someone has problem connecting, take the following things in to consideration:
your phone is 'too smart' - when you connect to the wifi of the module, it will have no internet access and so it will switch to you mobile phone subscription for internet access
So take the following steps: turn of usage of mobile data (depending on phone type, go to settings, connections and then Mobile data usage. Also, while your at it, change auto connect to your standard wifi (if you have that))
Also make sure you have 2.4 gigaherz as several mentioned. You may have to change the encryption settings as well to WPA 2
Then do the steps again to connect to the module. This should be as described. Watch for the pop-ups requesting the connection to either module or your own wifi
Thank you guys it works great 👍
Great to hear!
i got SD08 error...not been able to connect to my wifi router
I had no problems with the installation and connection to the device, but I don't understand why I can't see on the application how many degrees Celsius there are in the room. It shows me how many degrees the device is set to and that's it..
Can someone help me, maybe I don't know what to do?
Any way to connect this to HomeKit? Even if it means buying a bridge
Tado smart AC
Hi! As someone with 4 GREE ACs in his household, this is a cool sustainability feature, I'm saving a bunch on batteries.
However, as far as my experience with the app goes, only one user at a time can connect his phone/app to the AC unit.
Example:
User 1 connects to the AC unit 1.
User 2 follows the same steps and connects to AC unit 1. -> At this moment, AC1 vanished from User 1's app.
If only one individual (and not all) living in a household can control the ACs via the app, it defeats the sustainability purpose.
I hope this gets patched in the future.
Best of luck!
My wifi network is on 5 GHz, not 2.4 GHz
I heard that you need to be on 2.4 Ghz.
If so, when will the Gree+ app support 5 Ghz ?
Thanks.
Hi martin wifi enabled devices like that only support 2.4ghz as its longer range , just enable 2.4ghz on your router
this is a bad design, you cannot be connected through wi-fi and use the remote also. it is one or the other
Google search shows many hundreds of people that can’t use their Grees due to very poor software issues. Do NOT buy!
SO FRUSTRATING
I have 68 devices with an AI mesh installed but the only devices I can’t even find to try and connect are the Gree units. I’ve got $10k plus in two units and I want to kick rocks after months of no success
Instead of wifi it says ifeel
Sama here. Need gree support
Android
Gree sucks,
I'm sorry but the app is simply PATHETIC, if I know that crap is the only way to control a Gree aerothermal machine I would have buy another brand. The app is so limited, poor, outdated, impossible to connect with Alexa that is like useless.
