    Joe Bonamassa himself vindt haar een van de meest veelbelovende talenten in de bluesrock. Dat kunnen niet veel muzikanten in hun bio’s zetten maar Joanne Shaw Taylor behoort echt tot de favorietjes van ‘ the master”.
    Joanne was 16 toen ze door Dave Stewart van Eurythmics ontdekt werd. Op heel jonge leeftijd ontdekte ze Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins en Jimi Hendrix en die maakten zo’n indruk op haar dat ze dit ook wilde. Intussen heeft ze al drie studioplaten en een liveplaat uit en won ze verschillende prijzen op de British Blues Awards.
    Joanne speelt zeer expressief gitaar en haar enigszins hese stem past perfect bij de muziek die zij speelt. Haar band bestaat uit Joe Leadbeater op toetsen, Tom Godlington op basgitaar en Oliver Perry op drums. Uitstekende muzikanten, die onopvallend hun werk doen want het is duidelijk dat miss Shaw Taylor de lakens uitdeelt. Girlpower!!

    I listen to your music every time I get a chance, and you are just sensational!
    I love your style and your voice kind of reminds me of Janis Joplin but I love the rhythm and blues because I'm in the blues a lot!

    Great guitar player bass player and drummer...great band...... she's finally getting her due...... I especially like the bass player and the tone he's getting from that amp.....it compliments her playing

    Had never heard of JST until she supported Wilko Johnson earlier this year at Kentish Town and then saw her again at Glasto in June where she played a superb set - WOW!

    truly outstanding performer ,amazing lead work ,but to play AND sing offbeat complex riffs and vocals at the same time is astonishing ,even Clapton and hendrix wouldnt /couldnt do that

    I get so fucking sick of these guitar shredders being labeled "blues." It's fucking rock - NOT blues. They only use the blues to build their name, then they go mainstream like Bonamassa and what Fish is currently doing. #Justsaynotofakeblues

      You have an excellent point, but when Fish's last album was #1 on the blues chart, it didn't break the top 200 overall. It's hard ro blame them if they want a bigger piece of the pie, most of them don't live extravagantly.

      I have no problem with wanting to go mainstream. Just stop using the blues as tool to get where you want to go. There is something deep and special about blues. To treat it like some journey to be forgotten when and if you get mainstream success is wrong on so many levels. I can see why these performers do it, it's easier to build a name in the blues community, then once you've gone as far as you want to go pivot out for more mainstream. Still, I object to "blues" being associated with people who've pivoted away from the blues and they are just rock performers now.

      They begin to play blues, because it's quite natural to do so when you're playing guitar. It's a good school. Then they evolute in different directions, just because great artists do mature. Clapton did, Bonamassa is doing.

      He's simple and staying safely in the pocket. Often guitarist-led bands don't want drummers who stand toe to toe with them, favoring them to be the backbone rather than letting them get all Bonham-esque.
